Not the peaceful kind of silence a teacher hopes for, but the heavy kind—the kind that presses against the walls and waits.

At the front of the room stood Professor Mugman, chalk resting between his fingers as he wrote a single word on the board.

Psychopathy.

Some of the students shifted uncomfortably. Others leaned forward, curious.

Mugman turned to face them, calm as ever.

“Tell me,” he said softly, “what makes someone dangerous?”

A few hands rose.

“Violence,” one student said.

“Lack of empathy,” another offered.

Mugman nodded thoughtfully, but his expression didn’t change.

“Interesting answers,” he replied. “But the most dangerous people rarely appear dangerous.”

He tapped the chalk against the board.

“They blend in. They smile. They understand exactly how others think.”

The class grew quieter.

Near the back of the room, a new student watched him carefully—far more carefully than the others.

Mugman continued the lecture as if nothing was unusual.

But hours later, when the campus lights dimmed and the hallways emptied, the professor sat alone at his desk.

His laptop screen flickered.

A message appeared.

NEW ASSIGNMENT AVAILABLE

Below it was a file.

A name.

A photograph.

And a short note:

Subject escaped prosecution.

Mugman stared at the image for a long moment.

Then he quietly closed the classroom door.

By morning, the professor would return to teaching about the human mind.

Tonight, however—

Professor Mugman had homework of his own..

Biography:

Cuphead is Mugman’s energetic older brother who runs a small repair shop and café. Unlike Mugman, he’s impulsive, loud, and optimistic. He has no idea about Mugman’s double life and believes his brother simply works too hard at school.
