misguided ghosts

“i’m sure they’re somewhere around here, i always smile, you know that.”

“bullshit, mikayla. where there fuck are my picks, kayla.”

farah pouted, looking down at the smiling teddy in her hand. it was pretty childish, so she set it down and picked up the one the other girl had indicated. “it is pretty punk,” she agreed. she started shifting through the other patches, plucking out other designs that would go along with it. “i quite like this one,” she hummed, holding up a patch with a middle finger emblazoned on it. “would you like to join me? i have snacks around here somewhere…”

kim’s eyebrows knitted together as she saw the girl pouting at the teddy bear patch. “ do you get sad that easily or what ?? ” she queried as she sat down in front of the other. “i know, right ?? skulls are great.” kim said as she watched farah sort through the different patches she had. kim’s eyes brightened when she saw the middle finger patch. “ holy shit. that’s is perfect. okay, i gotta say this but when you’re done with that, could i have it?? ”

the weather was too nice to not take advantage of, so farah grabbed her current project and a blanket then moved outside. she laid out in a grassy area by the buses and started pulling out her tools. she was working on decaling a jean jacket, so with a needle and her assorted bag of patches she began her work. she saw someone approaching so she sat up, a bright grin on her face. “Hey, could you help me pick another one out?” She pulled more patches out of her little bag and held them out. “I like the one with the bear on it.”

soundcheck was a pain. apparently, their manager was too rough on her because she caused another ruckus backstage as they were trying out the visual effects. as a result, she was roasted all throughout their session. the short break is what she needed to let off some steam. as she went out, kim saw a girl stitching up a jacket so she decided to approach her. “a bear ?? the skull one is more punk rock.”

“Yeah so he totally said fuck it and just dyed his skin blue.” Shauna finished one of her insane stories before muttering under her breath. “Crap— I think I’m late for wardrobe. Honestly, they just fit me in my own clothes. Makes no sense at all. It fit me yesterday, odds are it’ll fit me today.”

"i gotta see it to believe it man. you could’ve taken a photo !!  ” she exclaimed, wishing that she would’ve seen it as well. kim lived for shit like that. “well, if you’re complaining then try something really over the top.”

      “ Maybe some fan randomly sneaked in and stole them. You know, just the guitar picks. Nothing else. Though I think they actually have some spare ones at the venue, if you really need them. “

“ who in the right mind would steal just the damn guitar picks ?? if i ever got in a band’s bus, i would’ve stolen a shirt or something like that. ”

“Oh a crew member came over and picked them up. I thought you sent them to get the picks for you, but I guess not”

"if i don’t find them soon, i’m gonna combust.”

“this time it actually wasn’t me.”

"really now ??  why is it that i find that hard to believe you ?? oh yeah, cause you’re an ass. where are my guitar picks ?? ”

“you sure you left them there kim??, i mean you could’ve easily left them somewhere else.” mikayla hummed, with a grin on her face.

quirking an eyebrow, she had become suspicious of mikayla’s actions towards her. "why are you smiling like that, eh ?? ”
