Ballum's Lair

I finished watching yesterdays episode of Emmerdale and Aaron’s story the last few days has been pretty satisfying to me. It’s been the wrap up of the Robron story. It’s been expected. I knew it was coming and it has come. And as Aaron steps away from town for a bit to gather his thoughts and get his life back it came to me that there is nothing more of Emmerdale that I want to see. For a while now I have found most of the other characters rather boring, the writing to be extremely sub par and the direction of the show itself to be quite tiresome. So when Aaron finally came to the decision that it was time to focus on himself for a change, take back his life, start divorce proceedings and get away and all of that with a bit of a smile on his face...which has been so very sad for so long I decided what a perfect time to walk away from the Aaron story and Emmerdale in general. There is nothing more in the character I care to see. And certainly nothing more with the series that I want or need to see.  I love Danny Miller performances as Aaron but his talent is just not enough to keep me around anymore. Is part of it the loss of the Robron story? Yes...I will not lie about that. But there is so much more that is missing from Emmerdale right now. There is a general lack of passion from the actors and even the writing. So I wish Danny Miller well in continuing to play such a complex and wonderful character. He does so well with that role. Todays episode was in a way an ending to the Robron story...the writing made that very clear. And I’m totally fine with that. They had no choice. Ryan Hawley chose to leave the series and the series chose not to recast. But my personal opinion is that I don’t like Aaron without Robert so I will search out better entertainment. Am I one of those people who feel that Emmerdale pissed on the Robron fans...not really. They had no choice to do what they did. But I do feel they gave very little respect to the characters themselves. They just simply could have done better for both Robert and Aaron. The Aaron story has been a wonderful ride and today’s exit...although brief was the perfect spot for me to make my exit from the Aaron story. I know the character will be OK and get his life back...Emmerdale will see to that as that is what they need to happen to being in a new love interest. But my time with Emmerdale and Aaron has come to an end. I don’t see this as a bad thing...to me it was the closest to a happy ending as I can get at this point considering the direction Emmerdale has gone as of late. Sorry for the ramble but that’s what I felt like doing just now...
