I'm plagued by the thunderbolts, have some randomly assorted headcanons
Ava, Bob, and Yelena yell cucumber instead of "bless you". They especially like yelling it at John because he finds it dumb and annoying. Bucky and Alexei are confused.
Ava and Yelena end up getting really close. Neither of them have had friends since childhood, so it's nice to connect with one another. They bully John together 💕
John gets his kid for the weekend. While he was a distracted father, he still knows HOW to take care of a kid. None of the others besides Alexei do and he can't believe how incompetent they are. Alexei likes John's kid because toddlers are easy to impress lmao.
You know the "life changing field trip with Zuko" thing from ATLA? Life changing field trip with Bucky. One way or another, Bucky either comes to an understanding or gets closer to the others on the team. Bob was thoroughly startled to find out that Bucky wasn't scary, just socially awkward
No one but John and Bucky knows how to cook. They don't even cook WELL, just passable. How everyone else has made it this far on take out and frozen meals is beyond them. Ava and Yelena go "how hard can it be?" And now they're yelling at Alexei to follow the recipe as he insists that he knows better and this will taste WAY better. Bob is quietly ordering pizza.
If things turn into a genuine screaming match on the team, Bob going "can we please calm down?" Makes everyone very bitterly simmer down because they know this a bit triggering for Bob
In general, I think they start to learn one anothers triggers and start being more mindful of them. Barely even consciously, but they've all felt that void inside them and don't like being the reason someone else feels it again.
Everyday Bob is blown away by what's happening around him and what's happened to these people. Like, while Bob had a rough life, it was a "normal" kind of rough. No experimentation, no super powers, no government plots. Just a normal guy dealt a terrible deck in life. He's spent the vast majority of his life with no powers.
Ava, Yelena and Bob decide to hang out one day as normal people. They are very bad at this and they come home with torn clothes and a cat.
I'll stop yapping for now, I just love them
Writing Tips
Punctuating Dialogue
✧
➸ “This is a sentence.”
➸ “This is a sentence with a dialogue tag at the end,” she said.
➸ “This,” he said, “is a sentence split by a dialogue tag.”
➸ “This is a sentence,” she said. “This is a new sentence. New sentences are capitalized.”
➸ “This is a sentence followed by an action.” He stood. “They are separate sentences because he did not speak by standing.”
➸ She said, “Use a comma to introduce dialogue. The quote is capitalized when the dialogue tag is at the beginning.”
➸ “Use a comma when a dialogue tag follows a quote,” he said.
“Unless there is a question mark?” she asked.
“Or an exclamation point!” he answered. “The dialogue tag still remains uncapitalized because it’s not truly the end of the sentence.”
➸ “Periods and commas should be inside closing quotations.”
➸ “Hey!” she shouted, “Sometimes exclamation points are inside quotations.”
However, if it’s not dialogue exclamation points can also be “outside”!
➸ “Does this apply to question marks too?” he asked.
If it’s not dialogue, can question marks be “outside”? (Yes, they can.)
➸ “This applies to dashes too. Inside quotations dashes typically express—“
“Interruption” — but there are situations dashes may be outside.
➸ “You’ll notice that exclamation marks, question marks, and dashes do not have a comma after them. Ellipses don’t have a comma after them either…” she said.
➸ “My teacher said, ‘Use single quotation marks when quoting within dialogue.’”
➸ “Use paragraph breaks to indicate a new speaker,” he said.
“The readers will know it’s someone else speaking.”
➸ “If it’s the same speaker but different paragraph, keep the closing quotation off.
“This shows it’s the same character continuing to speak.”
omg this is so helpful
!!!!!!!
No cuz let’s talk about it. When it comes to the book community, y’all are some of thee most anti-intellectual people I have ever seen. We say address problematic writers and the themes they put in their books and y’all say “It’s just a book! Let people read what they want!” Y’all get on the internet complaining about long paragraphs and saying y’all skip paragraphs and dialogue as if that makes any sense. Y’all can barely grab ahold of the themes of racism, grief, generational trauma, or the experience of being Black at a white institution in LegendBorn because you’d rather focus on the 5% of romance as if romance can’t also be political. Yet somehow you refuse to read books by Black and Brown authors cuz they’re “too political.” It can be right there in your face and you’d still use the excuse that reading is your escape so you don’t have to pay attention to those things when those things literally drive the book along with the characters. Percy Jackson is about a boy trying to dismantle the system of the gods cuz they got a bit too much dip on they chip and it literally almost always leads to their own children dying. Not to mention they suck as parents too. I’ve yet to read The Poppy War but it’s based off of an actual war. It’s historical freaking fiction. Rin literally sees a chance to have control over her body and takes it. Don’t think I don’t remember y’all being mad about that either. Y’all love The Song of Achilles as if it’s also not about war, touches on the romantic relationship between Patroclus and Achilles after historians have tried so hard to deny that they were in fact lovers, and let’s not forget the misogyny littered throughout the text that’s either there purposefully or the fault of the authors own biases. Like y’all are dumb and you don’t care.
Reblog if you're a writer who re-reads their own work for funsies.
Just read one of mine again to be like damn this was good. But needed more of one character. Resisting the urge to rewrite with a focus on said character.

"they're just fictional characters, they're not real!" ok. but you do know that the poc you share the fandom with ARE real tho, right? right? you know they can see the way you react to and treat marginalized characters, right? please tell me you understand that at the very least. please.
I wonder if they think bipoc aren’t real and that’s why it’s okay to talk about marginalized characters the way they do. It would certainly explain some things if that’s how they felt.
Include Sam In His Own Damn Ship As Something Other Than An Afterthought Challenge
i love all the tiny details they added to differentiate sam from steve. for starters, he cusses, and frequently at that. he’s a bit of a partier. he enjoys dressing up in style. he’s cocky in a good way. his fighting style is beautifully pragmatic, mans will literally use everything in his surroundings PLUS the shield to make sure you stay down. he gets to call in several favors throughout the entire film because it’s implied that he takes the time to bond on a personal level with the people he works with. on top of that, he has chemistry with just about every single person he meets??? i just really love sam wilson, man.
I GOT A FUCKING RAISE THE POTATO WORKED WTF
This potato works. Every. Fucking. Time.
Then bring me luck
the day after I posted this last time I was notified that I was selected for a really cool mentorship gig and got an unrelated glowing review at work
And notice the potato doesn’t guilt you with “if you don’t, something horrible will happen.” Potato wouldn’t betray you like that, because potato is a refined person of good humor and character, and understands that, sometimes, a visit to your dashboard just isn’t convenient right now. Sometimes you just went on a fandom gif reblogging spree or your energy is low, you do not have the time to make your dashboard suitable to guests, and a polite visit just isn’t in the cards. Potato understands this, and doesn’t get upset, or gods forbid, throws a tantrum and wishes ill on your household. Instead, Potato merely stores away their blessings for a later visit and leaves as a good friend should.
Be like Potato. Be a good friend.
IT WORKS Y'ALL. REBLOGGING AGAIN NOT FOR ME BUT FOR YOU.
I could use a little luck.

New (Official) Bloodmarked Character Art!!!
by mageofspace on Instagram
Tracy Deonn dropped this a few hours ago, illustrated by Mageofspace 😍
Featuring Valec, Alice, Mariah, and Will surrounding our Trio.
Little details that bring me joy:
* Will swirling his aether dagger in a teacup
* Mariah with the herbs and bowl and golden root and this faraway look on her face as though she's seeing dead people.
*Nick's shoes lol
*Alice's Gawain green wristband/ribbon!
Don't mind valec being the absolute BEST character in bloodmarked
The way I adore him and am absolutely living for him as a character. He’s just the best.

You know the most ridiculous thing about the whole Sam Wilson What If nonsense??? Even if marvel wanted to be a coward and shrink back from Cap!Sam (😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡) they could easily do What If Redwing Was Real/Sam Could Talk to Birds? or What If Riley Survived? / What if Riley Was A Winter Soldier? What if Sam Was At The Battle Of New York?
The possibilities are endless. Please, everyone reblog with your Sam What If episodes
No one wants Luffy 😭😭
No wonder he’s terrified of being alone
