Summary: In a moment of vulnerability. You and Wally have an honest moment where you admit your feelings
Part VI ⢠Series Masterlist
You stared out the window, observing Damian running around the garden with his menagerie of pets.
Your face still solemn despite seeing your angsty teenage brother frolicking the flowers with Titus by his side. ďżź
Your peace is obliterated when your door to your bedroom is thrown open with such force is slams against the wall. âY/n!â Wally exclaims, stepping into your room without any hesitation. Striding quickly before you, scanning over for any injuries. âI was at the dinerâ and the TV came onâ and they showed pictures of your crying on Gotham bridgeâ and I â you looked soâ I wanted to make sureâ I probably should have barged in butâoft!â Wally grunts as you slam into him, your arms wrapping around his neck as you pull him in so tightly he weight shifts unevenly and you both topple onto the floor. Your arms still wrapped tightly around him as his mind moves at the speed of light, trying to make sense of your reaction.
âIâm sorry!â You call out, your face shoving into the crook of his neck as you lay on top of him. âIâm sorry Wally! Iâm so sorry!â You say, lip wobbling. Your arms tightening around his neck, scared he would push you away. Scared heâll see you looking so weak. Scared heâll look at you again the same way he did like that night. âI was scaredâ and I said stupid things I didnât mean!â You cry around, holding him tighter.
âI get it.â He whispers. His fingers now moving to graze your lower back lightly. Not pushing you away, just accepting you clutching him close, feeling your arms shaking as you embrace him. âYouâve been burned badly in similar circumstances. So you panicked. Itâs okay.â He comforts you, cradling the back of your neck with a comforting hold. âI shouldnât have said it that way either. I should said something when we were both sober. I shouldâve chosen my words more carefully so you understood. I shouldnât have pushed you to accept my feelings. Iâm sorry too.â He whispers. âI donât regret my admissionâ just my delivery.â He says, and you turn still.
Taking your time to pick your words carefully. As you finally lean away from him, your hands pressing into his chest. âI regret my response Wally⌠I do⌠feel something⌠but I⌠how can I trust itâs not just getting swept up in the fantasy ?â
âTrust me sweetheartâ if love was a choice I wouldâve picked an easier woman.â He grins at you as you stare down at him blankly.
âAnd here I was considering asking you on a date.â You state dryly as his playful smirk drops. âOh? Not so cocky now.â You laugh as Wally continues to look at you with this stunned expression. âWally.â You call out, turning serious as you admit the words youâre most afraid of. âIâm not sure when exactly. But at some point, I fell in love with you⌠and ⌠i donât want to miss out just because Iâm afraid Iâll be hurt all over again because at the end of the dayâ you are not Royâ not even close. Even if we both end up broken-up and bitter in the end. I wonât have any regrets.â You say, cradling his cheek. âI want to kiss you for real this time. Not used some guise of a fake relationship, not for showâŚBut because Iâm in love with you, and I would love nothing more.â
âOkay.â He mutter complacently, with a sweet dumb-founded expression.
And you canât help but grin as you lean in. Lips pressing together with this familiarity, your heart filling in satisfaction that you can finally kiss your lover without an excuse.
Summary: You need to go undercover as a couple for real this time. A confession is made and knee-jerk reaction causes everyoneâs heart to break.
Part V ⢠Series Masterlist
The brilliant orange sun set begins to dip below the horizon. The usual sparkling blue bay, now turned to a liquid gold as the water ripples. The visual serenity was just enough to ground you, as you lean against the bridges barrier, amercing yourself further into the scenery as the motors humming loudly in the background, which only serves to disrupt your endless internal monologue.
A feeling of gratefulness washes over you. Glad that a city as messy and chaotic as Gotham, still had pockets of santicity, where you can observe nature, but still have the hustle and bustle of the city to force your mind to turn quiet.
But you canât help but feel a little sour knowing that you cannot say here forever. Your family will come and bother you eventually, it is only a matter of time.
You can only hope that leaving your phone behind will buy you some time before one of them finds you.
A sudden gust of cool breeze blows through your hair. Your eyes close on instinct as you suck in a deep breath before you sigh out.
âIf youâre trying to reenact a dramatic movie sceneâ itâs working.â A womanâs voice rings out. The familiar sound of your best friends voice instantly bringing you much needed comfort.
âDonna?!â You call out. Your once solemn face now twisting with an irresistible grin. Donnaâs arms stretched out in anticipation of your hug attack. Slamming yourself into her arms, she grunts at the sudden impact, but she canât help but laugh at your joyful demeanour. âWhat? Why? How did you? What are you doing here?â You finally manage to spit out as she chuckles.
âDamian called meâ heâs in hystericsââ You groan out, pulling away from her. Turning back to the water view; you rest your arms along the bridge railing, huffing out as you rest your chin. âSoâŚ..â Donna announces awkwardly. Shuffling next to you as you avoid eye contact. âWant to tell me why Mother Damian is having a personal melt down and spamming everyone in the hero leagues your missing poster?â She prods as your spine turns stiff as a rod.
You tuck your face into your folded arms. Whining out in utter embarrassment. âJust kill me now, Donna.â
âRelax would you? Iâm just here to check in on you and understand what happened.â She says, throwing an arm around your shoulder. âDamianâs acting insane.â
âSo normal?â
âYep.â Donna pops, continuing. âYour brothers are acting weirdââ
âSo normal?â
âYeahâ okay I walked in that⌠but WallyâŚâ You grimace, gaze snapping away from Donnaâs. âHeâs acting ⌠cold. No jokes. No jolly. Just pure angst.â
âIâŚâ you swallowed âI donât even know where to startâŚâ
âSo start from the beginning.â
You wince, not knowing where the beginning even started. âOkay⌠so, I guess it started when Babs called us into the batcave for a bat meeting.â A loud snort rips through the air as a cackling unfiltered laughter bursts your ear drums.
âThereâs no way you said âbat meetingâ unironically! Do you all just add the word âbatâ before everything?â
âHush! Did you want me to tell you the story or not?!â
âOkay okay! Sorry⌠continue.â
Batcave
âThis mission is incredibly time sensitive.â Barbara announces, pulling up the most recent clippings of the culprits. âThe cult is meeting at this couples resort, so we will need Y/n and Wally toââ
âAbsolutely not.â Damian interjects, arms crossed over his chest with his signature scowl.
âDamian, itâs for a mission.â Barbara defends but Damian is not budging. His decision has been made.
âNo. Find someone else.â Damian states flatly, hand shooting out and resting above yours, as if to reassure you all would be well.
âThis is time sensitive, we canât just find someone elseââ
âThen you and Grayson pose as a couple.â He answers dryly, quickly becoming disinterested in this rouse.
âI-I c-canât! Oracle is essential to the missionâs success.â Barbara defends.
The whole family moving their heads back and forth at the two as if this were a tennis match.
âFine. Then Steph and Tim should go.â Looking over at the two, who instantly stiffen up like boards at the mere suggestion.
Jason snorts, leaning back in his chair. âYeah rightâ those two are so awkward itâs painful.â
âItâs for a real mission, Damian.â Barbara squeaks out, all whilst Damianâs head turns to Barbara with the most dismissive glares one would ever see. âI swear! It is.â
You sigh, leaning back into your chair. A couple charade again?
âPathetic! Youâre all elite superheroâs and the best plan you came up with is making sister and West play house? Why are we getting involved in Harperâs case anyway? It should be Harpers problem to find another more suitable point of entry.â Damian waves his hand dismissively, already getting out of his chair, ready to drag you away from this madness. âIâm not helping that piece of trashâ and neither will sister.â
âDamian~â Dick coaxâs, âsince itâs Royâs case, he has no choice but to monitor everything. If Y/n acts all lovely dovy with Wallyââ
âHeâll have no choice but the endure the torment of watching the one that got away being happy with another manâŚâ Damian breathes, eyes blowing wide. ââŚApproved.â Damian nods, taking his seat back at the table.
âThen itâs decided, Y/n and Wally will pose as the couple toââ
âHang on a god damn second.â You announce, slamming your hand down into the table. âShouldnât you check with me first? Besides, you havenât even checked with Wallyâ he might not even be comfortable posing as a fake couple. This isnât an over night cover, itâll be a whole week of faking romance.â
âTrust me, Wally will agree.â
âWhat makes you so sure?â
The group release a collective groan as Damian shakes his head, patting your hand gently.
âDear sister⌠itâs a good thing you have me here to protect you.â
âOkay?â Donna tilts her head to the side. âSo they tried to force you to go undercover as Wallyâs fake girlfriend so you got mad and ran away?â
You shake your head, âNo. I mean⌠I was cranky they didnât ask me and just assumed I would do it, but thatâs not the problem. You reiterated and Donna just rocks awkwardly on her feet.
âSo then what happened?â
âSo then Wally and I went on the mission, acted like a couple andâŚâ you trail off. You glance over at Donnaâs whose eye begins to twitch.
âDonât keep me in suspense. What happened? Why did you dip out without saying anything?â
âWell I did say something Donna â thatâs the problem.â You whine out, covering your face. âI was so confused. Wally justâ and I wasâ and Roy.â You groan, failing to put it all into words and Donna just stared to you with the patience of a nun. âIt was only meant to be a week Donna. I was only meant to pretend to be Wallyâs girlfriend for a week.â You state firmly and Donna nodded. âBut the week became two, then it became three.â You say, now pacing back and forth along the bridge. âThere was so much hand holding, so many dates, so many hugs, kisses, sweet words, flirtingâ it was only meant to be a week! But it turned into three and we had to keep the rouse up for so long, I started toâ Wally was confused.â You ramble.
Pausing, your eyes growing misty before you continued. âWe had to share a bed andâ we just grew close you know soâ Wally was confused. One night he just told me he loved me, and that heâs been in love with me for years. But he was never going to say anything because Dick is my brother and âitâs against guy codeâ to go after your friends sister. But he was devastated when I started dating Royâ he started acting cold with me to force his heart to move on. But he never got over me, and that he sees the way I look at him now, and insists that he knows I like him too but Iâm too guarded, and that I should just give him a chance.â You rant and Donna just stares at you, mouth left agape.
âOh wow⌠thatâs⌠a lot to take in.â She breathes, âso you got overwhelmed and ran away?â She asks, and you had to bite down your wobbling lip.
âDonnaâ if I could turn back time. Thatâs what I would do.â You say, your voice cracking as tears begin to pour down your cheeks.
âOh god⌠what did you do?â
âI broke his heart.â You say, fully crying at this point. Not giving a single damn if anyone saw Gothams heiress having a breakdown on its bridge.
Undercover Mission
You two burst through the door in a fit of laughter, drunkingly stumbling through the door. A joke said here, a clever retort there. You both collapsed back first into the mattress until you both finally calm downs you stare up at the ceiling. Occasionally giggling as you recall that evenings antics. You feel Wally gazing at you.
âWhat is it lover boy?â You coo at him, and you see something frightening flicker behind his eyes. An idea.
He sits up, hovering above you as he whispers terrifying words with a softness you didnât think his voice was capable of. âIâm deeply, undeniably, impossibly in love with you.â He says. âIâve been in love with you longer than I can remember. I just⌠I never had the nerve to admit it. I was scared. Scared of being rejected by a girl I was deeply in love with. Scared of betraying my best friend. So I squashed down my feelings, telling myself it was just a phase. That Iâll move onto the next girl. I told myself âitâs bro codeâ and denied myself any chance of pursing you.â He says, your eyes widening. âI thought that I would move on, but then you started dating Roy, and I felt like I died inside.â He whispered. âI was angry I denied myself a chance to be with you and hurt to see you happy with someone that wasnât me, but as long as someone loved you the way you deserved, I could live⌠Roy made it clear that he saw how I looked at you, told me to stay away⌠I tried to move on but I never stopped loving you. No matter how hard I tried.â Your breath hitched and you pushed Wally away. Shooting up from the bed, your mind sprinting a million thoughts an hour. âI know youâre scared to open your heart again after Roy but please â give us a chance.â Wally says grabbing your arms, his eyes gazing at you desperately. âI know you like me too, I just, canât keep pretending anymore. So please. Donât push me away, donât brush my feelings off, donât pretend you feel nothing too. I see the way your gaze shifts whenever you look at me, I hear the softness in your voice when you speak to me. Justâ stop pretending.â
You begin to pace but Wally grabbed your arms attempting to keep you still. Attempting to ground you in this moment and not let you brush him off like you always did.
âYouâre just confused Wally.â
âIâm not confused.â
âWeâve role played a couple too oftenâ for too long. You justââ
âStop it.â He says sternly with an unfamiliar seriousness which makes you feel sick to your stomach. âDonât brush this off. Donât deny the authenticity of my feelings. You know I love you. Youâve known for a long time.â He insists. And thatâs when it all fell apart.
Because the thing about people who get scared? When pushed into a corner, theyâll come out swinging.
âGod. Do you even hear yourself?â You say coldly. âYou think because you feel something, Iâm obligated to feel it too. You think because you finally figured out what you want, that must mean I feel the same way? Even if I did, how could I ever be with you? Youâre a flirt West, your flirt with any woman. Iâve seen you first hand. You think you love me? No. You love the idea. Your best friends sisterâ itâs a fantasy. I get it. Roy had one too. So here it is â I donât want you. I never did. Whatever you thought you saw was you projecting something that was never there. Whatever we had, itâs just role play designed to trick others around usâ itâs not real. Just a fantasyâ or have you forgotten?â You sneer, anticipating Wally to fight you back, to tell you to stop acting so cold.
But he didnât.
His eyes. God his eyes. His gaze rips away from you, as if it cut him to look at you.
âGot it.â He says. Stepping away from you. He strides towards the door.
âWaitâ where are you going?â You call out. But Wallyâs eyes just remains down cast as he pulls the door open and walks out.
âOh god.âDonna breathes pulling her hands up to your tear streaked face.
âTell me I can fix it. That he will forgive me.â You sob as Donna just looks at you with sympathy that makes your knees buckle at the unspoken answer.
âI donât know â somethings canât be unsaid.â And thatâs when you begin to truely ugly cry.
âI ruined it! Before anything could happen I ruined it!â
Donna doesnât say another word. Just pulls you into her arms as you canât do nothing else but let it all out.
Wally sits at the diner table looking deflated and exhausted. The hum of the TV was just barely audible when he heard it.
âGothams sweet heart, Y/n Grayson-Wayne, caught crying on a bridge whilst an unidentified woman provides a comforting embrace. Leaving us wondering what exactly is going on. Viewers speculateâŚâ
Wally stares at the TV, seeing your face flash up on screen. Your eyes expression twisted into a painful cry. One which heâs only seen onceâ when you broke up with Roy.
Before he knew what he was doing.
He was out of his seat, tip tossed down as he step out of the diner and sprints at the speed of light to the Wayne Manor.

Iâve written 5 different versions of part V in the Wally West is my Brothers Best Friend series⌠and of course, I was only satisfied with the long version đ
Summary: Your ex-boyfriend is visiting and you recruit Wally to reprise his role as your fake boyfriend
Part IV ⢠Series Masterlist
âGood morning.â Tim greeted as you breezed right past him towards the cup of tea resting in the bench top. âStill ignoring us huh?â He asks.
You lift the teacup to your lips, letting the soft floral notes curl through the air and ease the tension coiled in your chest.
The house has felt strained, silence pressing heavy since your last clash with your brothers, and the quiet moment, where one of your brothers isnât pestering you for your forgiveness, is a small reprieve. Your gaze drifts to the window, out across the manicured sprawl of the garden and glorious flower beds only to catch sight of two familiar figures striding toward the manor. Jason with Roy Harper striding beside him.
âWhat the!â you shout, jolting Tim upright. He scrambles to the window, peering out. âRoy isnât allowed here anymore! Why the hell did Jason bring him?!â
Tim doesnât even blink. âHmm⌠I dunno,â he hums, eyes still on the glass. Then he cuts you a sly look. âBut Wallyâs in the Batcave if you want to reprise his role as your loving, devoted boyfriend.â He wiggles his brows for emphasis.
You narrow your eyes, heat flashing in your glare. âI still havenât forgiven you.â
âYeah, yeah,â Tim groans, dropping back into his chair as you whirl and bolt for the door.
Your footsteps ringing sharp against the stone. The air grows colder the deeper you run, tension coiling tight in your stomach until finally, there he is. The person youâve been searching for.
His oversized red headphones contrasting against his brilliant orange hair. You come to a sliding stop, shoes screeching across the floor.
âWally!â You call out, making him flinch at your sudden appearance, dropping the tablet he was holding. âYouâre my boyfriend!â You yell, turning to the closest reflective surface, tossing your hair back into place.
âHuh?â
âYouâre my boyfriend.â You reiterate impatiently. Fingers gliding around your lips, making sure no lipstick has smudged.
âI-â He turns to your brother Dick, who just shrugs in utter confusion.
âY/nââ
âGo away Dick!â You bark at your brother, your tone with raging bite making him instantly turn quiet.
Wally wants nothing more than to check if what he heard was right, but a part of him shrank as you looked like youâre ready to bite his head off. âIâm youâre what?â
âBoyfriend!â You whisper yell. Dropping yourself into his lap.
âWhat is you going on? Am I being punked?â He asks, looking around and finally sees the answer approaching them in the distance.
Roy Harper.
Your ex boyfriend.
The same boy who had sworn he loved you, sang you a thousand praises, and whispered endless dreams of your shared future only to have dashed it all away when he slept with Cheshire while on a long mission. The betrayal had split you open in ways you hadnât known you could break. After that, you werenât the same.
The brightness dimmed. The easy laughter gone and endless demure smiles now gone. A signature cynical frown had become a frown now often pressed upon your features. A woman scorned by the very person who shouldâve worshiped her heart.
And now here he was. Standing near you again.
âYouâre a lovesick fool who worships meâgot it?â you whisper to Wally, the words bitter on your tongue, even in jest.
He doesnât miss a beat. âSo⌠my normal self?â
The corner of your mouth twitches before you swat his arm, more to distract yourself than punish him. Wallyâs laughter bubbles out, light and unbothered, filling the heavy silence like sunlight breaking through storm clouds.
He always seems to know how to lift your spirits, even just a little.
Then, seamlessly, he slips into the role. His arm curls around your waist as though it belongs there, anchoring you into him. His shoulders square, chest lifting with quiet pride like a man who won the heart of a treasured woman. You can feel the steady warmth of him against your side as he leans in to press a kiss to your forehead. Protective, territorial, lovingly.
The world seems to pause at that. His lips lingering just long enough. For a dizzying heartbeat, you wish it was real.
When he straightens, his gaze finds Royâs across the room. Wally doesnât just look. He stares him down. A smug grin curls at his lips, the picture of a man perfectly, maddeningly in love.
Itâs flawless. Convincing. Almost too convincing.
Roy returning a polite smile laced with restrained displeasure. His expression nothing short of thunderous irritation, a storm barely leashed. And suddenly the air feels too thick, your heartbeat too loud, caught between your fake boyfriendâs steady warmth and your ex-boyfriends very real possessive rage.
âRoy,â you say, his name sharp on your tongue. âYouâre here.â No effort in the world could hide the displeasure dripping through your tone.
âY/n.â His reply is cool, cautious. His eyes flicker between you and Wally, taking in the space Wally fills so comfortably at your side.
Then his mouth twists. âI see you have a type.â The words come low, almost under his breath, though the barb is aimed to land. His gaze drags deliberately over Wally, lingering on the way his arm fits around your waist, on the smug curve of Wallyâs grin.
You refuse to flinch. Instead, you tilt your head, slow and deliberate, before lifting your hand to Wallyâs hair. Your fingers curl through a bright lock, tugging it forward until it glints in the light. âI do love redheads,â you say, your voice steady, honeyed with defiance as you toy with the brilliant strands.
Royâs eyes narrow, a muscle in his jaw ticking. âI meant a thing for your brothersâ friends,â he mutters, each word laced with an edge sharp enough to cut. âBut sure⌠letâs go with redheads.â
The air between you hums with tension, your eyes narrowing at Roy until Jason breaks it with all the subtlety of a hammer. âAlright, lovebirds,â he drawls,âGo be disgusting somewhere else. We have official hero business to attend to.â He flicks his hands at you dismissively, like heâs shooing you away.
You look over at Dick who has a small smile pressed upon on his lips. His phone, held in hand, now being placed face down on the coffe table before him, as he takes a deep breath in, leaning back into his chair and staring Jason down.
âYou know the rules Jay-bird. Roy isnât allowed here.â He says softly, as if he doesnât care if it hurts Roy or not.â
âCome on,â Roy defends, looking at you once again pressed into Wally. âYouâre moved on nowâ why canât I be here?â He presses, and Jason places a hand on Royâs shoulder, urging him to be quiet.
âDude⌠Y/n didnât make the rule.â He says, looking around suspiciously. âWe made this rule for safety.â Jason mutters as Roy stares at you all questioning.
âMy whaâ?â
âDIE!â Damian bellows, swinging from the ceiling, and throwing a hoard of batarangs at Roy as he only just manoeuvres out of the way.
âDAMIAN!â Jason yells, trying unsuccessfully to tackle him into restraints.
The kid manoeuvring like a slippery snake out of Jasonâs grasp as he tries with raging efforts to bring serious harm to Roy.
You glance over at Dick whose arms are now resting behind his head as he watches the shenanigans unfold.
âYou texted Damian didnât you?â You asked, as he smiles at you.
âWhat ever could you mean dear sister?â He feigns, eyes turning back towards the chaotic scene.
Wally leans down, whispering to you. âI thought Roy was banned from the Wayne house because you both broke up.â You shake your head.
âNo. Damian swore revenge against Roy for breaking my heart.â

Damian does not relinquish his hold on your arm until youâre sat at the dining table.
âPennyworth, fetch something rich in omega-3s. My sisterâs brain is clearly malnourished. Itâs the only explanation for her decisions.â
âDamianââ
âQuickly, before she embarrasses herself further.â Damian adds. Taking a seat next to you. His hand going over yours as if to soothe you. âDear sister what were you thinking?!â He scolds and you canât help but flinch as your 13 year old brother lectures you. âA mission where you had to be Wallyâs undercover girlfriend? Seriously? What part of that made sense?â Damian pressed and your lips part.
âDick said he needed help with a missionââ
âDid you even ask Grayson for the details of the mission? Or did you seriously think the mission was to just dance, drink and kiss?â Damian presses, and suddenly youâre feeling scrutinised. âSister, there was no mission. Grayson and Gordon started a bet to see how far you and West would go if you remove the âbrothers best friendâ barriers. You have been fooled! By blood no less!â Your mouth falls open, and Damian begins glaring as Dick rounds the corner with a hesitant Barbara in tow.
âItâs not as bad as it sounds.â Barbara says meekly, her voice trailing off as Damian begins to glare at her more harshly.
âIt sounds worse than bad.â Damian defends.
Dick steps forward, his hands up in the air.
âOkay. Maybe it wasnât the best idea, butââ
âNo buts!â Damian shouts, storming up to Dick and shoving a harsh finger into his chest. âYou tricked dear sister! Youâre meant to protect her, not put her in a position where she could be hurt.â He huffs, spinning on his foot and taking his place once again next you.
âTo be fair.â Jason says, holding a large plate of various breakfast items. âI told them it was a stupid idea.â Damian jumps up, snatching the plat from Jason and placing it before you. âOi! What do you think youâre doing?!â
âYou knew and did nothing about it! You donât deserve to eat.â Tim walks in holding his plate, when Damian also snatches it, taking his place next to you once again and digging into the food. âYou all knew about the bet and did nothing about it! You all suck. Sister is the only decent sibling worth the Wayne name.â He lectures, pointing a fork in all of their directions.
âI didnât actually expect Y/n would be that gullible.â Tim says dryly, eyeing Damian off as he watches him eat his food. âIâve never lost $100 so quickly.â
âAnd I never won so quickly.â Jason added, arms crossing behind his head with a satisfied grin.
âDoes Wally know?â You ask, turning to Dick who ultimately shakes his head.
âNo. He thought it was a mission you were helping me with.â
You nod solemnly, mulling over how you have so much of yourself away for nothing.
âFor research purposes, would you ever date Wally? In real life?â Tim asks as Damian slams his hand into the table.
âShe wouldnât! Not after last time!â Damian defends, scowling at Jason.
âWhat?!â Jason scowls back at Damian. âHow was I suppose to know Roy would do her dirty like that?â You clear your throat.
Tim leans back in his chair mulling the thought over. âJust because Roy fumbled, doesnât mean Wally will.â
Dick nods. âHe would treat you like a queen.â
Even Barbara breathes some praise. âYou two could explore whatever it is you two have.â
Jason grunts in boredom. âDonât do it bro.â Jason says, grabbing Dick by the shoulder. âIf your boy fucks it up, then you wonât be allowed to bring him around anymore.â He says, looking over at you.
âI hope you were all entertained.â You say, standing from the table. âDo anything like this againâ Iâll make you all god fearing.â

Summary: The ride back to the Wayne Manor is a little awkward
Part II ⢠Series Masterlist
The car ride back was held in utter silence.
Nothing but the hum of the car engine and the rushing wind to fill the complete silence.
Just moments before Wally held you close, hands gripping your waist like they belonged there. Wally gazing into your eyes like you were the first and only woman heâs ever seen. He kissed you with longing heat that sent heat down your stomach. Your heart thudding strongly against your chest as he guided you into the car.
That kiss.
The way his lips fell to yours.
The way he looked dazed after.
The whole night felt incredibly romantic. Which had your senses tripping.
Because after allâ it was just an act.
Nothing more than a fabricated lie, intended to fool others.
Did you like it because it was Wally? Or do you just miss the romantic aspects that come with a relationship?
That kiss replaying in you head over and over like an endless loop. Pulling apart each moment and analysing each second.
You wanted to feel that way again⌠but surely it wasnât because of Wally right? If you went undercover with Conor Kent, would you feel the same way?
Maybe acting as an undercover lover is too much for your lonely heart.
âIf you keep staring out the window like that, Iâm gonna think youâre daydreaming about our kiss.â Wally teases, poking you in the ribs as you jolt upwards, a rush of heat reaching your cheeks, burning with embarrassment at having been unknowingly caught. âThat was⌠fun. Like, actually fun. Which is weird, right? Totally weird.â He says, now turning to the window, the tips of his ears turning red.
And youâd be damned as a Bat if you didnât notice.
âHmmm⌠whatâs this?â Your velvet voice glides through the air with dangerous charm. Fingers reaching out and gently touching the shell of his ear.
His hand cupping over his ears as if to hide the evidence. âWhatâs what?!â He evades.
âYou mentioned our kiss thenâŚâ
âOkay, well you were day dreaming of it first!â He accused, and you canât help but scoff and roll your eyes.
âAs if.â You reply dryly, looking back out the window as the car pulls up into the Wayne estate driveway, the sun slowly rising above the horizon.
The night at the gala went much longer than you had intended.
âI canât believe its morning already.â You mutter, groaning that youâve practically lost your weekend to this mission.
âSo did you get everything you needed for the mission?â He says, looking out the window, noticing a hoard of your brothers shoving at each other all three grown men and a young boy trying to be out the door first.
You sigh, looking at the chaos. Not even registering Wallyâs question.
âWally,â you call out, a devious grin growing across your face. âPlay my undercover lover just a little bit longer will you?â
âUhhâŚsure.â
You drop your head between your knees, dragging your nails through your hair until the strands tangle and spill into disarray. With a sharp toss, you fling it back over your shoulders, the wild, mussed look giving the illusion youâve just been pressed into sheets. Before the moment can settle, you slide across the seat and into Wallyâs space, bracing yourself against his knee. Leaning in until your noses almost brush, your gaze dips slow, deliberately to his mouth.
Youâre intending to create a scandalous scene.
One for your brothers to throw open the door and see you two in THAT pose that would make them clutch their pearls in horror, and possibly dry heave if you were lucky.
But as you sat on his knee, Wally leans his heads up just a little more until your lips brush, and when you didnât lean down further, the noise he made wasnât quite a groan, not quite a huff. More like a sulky rumble vibrating in his throat.
And who are you to deny a kiss from someone who makes a needy whine like that?
Your hands slide to his jaw, cupping his face as you pull him to your lip, your tongue sliding across his bottom lip as he releases a breathy sighâ
The door to the car cracks open violently.
âDisgusting!â Damian yells, standing before the car, hand on his hip like a gym teacher, scowling at your undercover lover. âYou!â He says pointing at you. âInside now!â He barks, reaching into the car and pulling you out by your hands. Never mind the fact that youâre stumbling over your dress. He wants his sister away from Wally as quickly as possible. âYou!â He barks, pointing at Wally. âYour business here is done.â He states, slamming the door closed and tapping the car until the driver pulls away from the drive way.
You stand there gobsmacked at Damianâs reaction. But heâs not finished yet. Spinning on his heel, locking eyes with you.
âSister, you donât see it, but heâs taking advantage of you,â Damian insists, his brows drawn tight with worry. âYouâre far too trusting. Come with meâIâll keep you safe.â He takes your arm, steering you toward the door with more urgency than force. He paused, releasing your arm and turning to your brothers, âDonât think Iâm finished with you imbeciles.â He threatens. Snatching your arm up again and ushering you back into the safety of the Wayne manner.

The Batcave was, for once, completely empty. Tim was on a mission with Steph. Damian was with Alfred. Dick had promised not to show up until the next day. And Bruce had a meeting with the League at the Watchtower or something.
"Are you sure no one's home?" Wally asked, his voice an impatient whisper against your neck as he pinned you against the mainframe console, letting you feel the choice pressing against you.
"As sure as hell as if someone shows up, we're both going to die," you replied with a crooked smile, your nails gently scratching the back of his neck.
It wasn't the first time you had sneaked into the cave, but it was the first time you ere both so desperate. It had been a couple of weeks since you had last seen each other, and the adrenaline of doing it in the most forbidden of all possible places made everything burn even more.
Wally positioned you with ease, his lips finding yours with an urgency he made no attempt to hide. Your legs tangled around his waist as he sat you on the edge of the console, one of his hands moving down to your waist, the other caressing your bare thigh.
Your pants were already on the floor. His, pulled down just enough so you could feel how impatient he was.
"I missed this," he murmured between kisses, his voice husky, his fingers tracing a slow path over your exposed skin. "I missed you."
You looked at him from so close that you felt his heartbeat crash against yours. His forehead rested against yours, and his lips moved down to your neck as you let out a sigh that he caught with a satisfied smile.
"It took you weeks to show up," you complained through gritted teeth, without real anger. "Do you know how many times I was on the verge of running away to Central City?"
"It would have been the best news of the month," he replied, placing a kiss behind your ear that made you shudder. "But you know me⌠when Barry needs me, I have to run."
Your fingers buried themselves in his hair, pulling him back to you. The heat between you was suffocating, delicious, and the space between his lips and your skin grew ever more nonexistent. Your hips shifted, seeking more contact. He moaned softly against your neck. Your hands found the hem of his shirt, and you pulled it up with suppressed desperation, letting your lips travel down his hot, racing chest.
Wally gasped, his hands squeezing your thighs, his mouth seeking yours again with a perfect mix of tenderness and need.
"I swear I dreamed about this every night," he said between kisses.
"Then put on your clothes and keep dreaming," a deep voice replied.
Wally froze, his eyes boring into yours as a cold sweat trickled down his back. It took you half a second to turn in the direction of the voice⌠and wish you could disappear.
Bruce was there. Standing. A few steps away. Arms crossed. Frowning. And that look that could freeze hell. The hood was up, but the stiffness in his posture was enough to tell he'd run out of patience before he even stepped off the damn teleporter.
"D... Dad," you managed to say, barely a muffled whisper.
"Hey, Mr. Wayne!" Wally jumped in, twisting around as best he could, covering himself with his T-shirt as he tried to put his pants on backward for the second time in two minutes. "This isn't what it looks like. Although in retrospect, it is exactly what it looks like, but oh no, I put it on backward again!"
Bruce didn't blink. "Five. Seconds."
"Five seconds for what?!" Wally exclaimed, almost panicking.
"To get dressed, run from this cave, and seriously consider abstinence," Bruce replied, his tone not changing even a decibel.
Wally struggled with his pants zipper as if it were saving his life.
"Stop calling him 'sir,'" you muttered, covering yourself with the first thing you found. .
Bruce didn't move. He didn't need to. His presence filled everything. The silence was deadly. As soon as Wally disappeared into the tunnel, your father spoke.
"The Batcave?" Bruce looked at you as if he was seriously considering hanging you upside down next to the suits. "You know there are cameras at every entrance, right?"
"Dad..."
"No, don't even start." He crossed his arms again.
"We're going to have a very long talk. And if Wally sets foot in this cave again, I'm going to kick him off the planet. Is that clear?"
You nodded. Not because you agreed, but because you were on the verge of a nervous breakdown. Bruce turned back to the console. He looked at it as if it were contaminated.
"Nothing happened on the console," you quickly clarified.
"I don't care." He was silent for a few seconds. "I hope, for West's sake, it was worth it."
"Yes," you replied without thinking, a silly grin creeping onto your lips. "It was totally worth it."
Bruce didn't respond. He just sighed long and deeply, turning to disappear into the darkness of the hallway.
And you, still half wrapped in the thermal blanket, muttered to yourself, "Still... it wasn't the first time."
Summary: You and Wally donât get along and play a couple for a under cover only you both get a little to into it
Part I ⢠Series Masterlist
âYou canât be serious.â Stepping out from the corner, youâre wearing head to toe couture. The epitome of grace, elegance and class. âThatâs what youâre wearing?â You say, gesturing to Wally whoâs wearing a suit that looks like it straight from the 70âs and not in a cute way.
His ruffled shirt being the biggest eye sore of it all.
His outfit screams, âI donât give a damn. Iâm just quirky like thatâ.
âI know, I know.â He says, running a hand through his hair. âDo try to keep your hands off me.â He says sarcastically with a lop sided grin.
âIncredible.â You mumble, adjusting your slim evening dress. âDespite wearing the ugliest effinâ suit Iâve ever seen, your ego remains overly inflated.â
Wally ignores your jabs, turning to the closest mirror, dragging a finger across his jaw and winking at himself. âI am indeed a handsome devil.â He inflates, his dismissive attitude rubbing you the wrong way.
âBrother!â You snap, turning to Dick. âThereâs no way society will think I actually chose to date this twit.â You spit. âWe donât even look like a coupleâ I mean look at him and look at me! He looks moronic, this is too humiliating!â You insist, ready to unfasten the dainty necklace hanging from your neck.
âHang on sis!â Dick waves his hands in the air as if itâs squashing the tension rising. âI know you and Wally donât get along but itâs for an important mission. Just put aside your differences for once. Itâs just for the evening.â He insists, grabbing your arms and squeezing them gently. âTheyâll think heâs just a goofy boyfriend that makes you laugh yeah?â Dick reassures as you reluctantly relent.
âFine⌠but youâre changing that shirt.â You demand but Wally is already shaking his head.
âNo can do. I look smokinââ He jokes. âBesides, changing my shirt wonât change how others look at us. Even if this was real, youâd still be out of my league.â Rolling your eyes, you turn on the spot, already storming out the house and to the car as quickly as possible. The sooner you get to the event, the sooner you can reclaim your Saturday evening.
âWait for me Snookums!â
The car rolls up slowly to the red carpeted entrance. Wally is the first to jump out of the car, sprinting to the other side and cracking open the door, holding his hand out for you to hold as you climb out of the car. But instead you slap it away, gracefully exiting the car with ease.
âBabe, youâve got to hold my hand. Couples do that.â Wally says, holding out his hand once again. You resist rolling your eyes, flicking his hand away once again, opting to grab his arm and clutching it to your chest. âOh⌠this works too.â The display looks far more intimate and frankly⌠Wally was not expecting you to code switch so effortlessly.
You look up at him with this practiced dreamy look, a small demure smile drawing him in. Youâre looking so sweet compared to the poisonous words that spill out of your mouth next. âLetâs get this over with, I canât stand pretending to be in love with you much longer.â A shiver shoots through Wallyâs spine.
âI love it when you talk dirty to me.â He boops the tip of your nose. Before guiding you both down the red carpeted event, the cameras flashing as the paparazzi scream your name.
âMiss Grayson! Whoâs with you this evening?!â
âMiss Grayson! Is this your boyfriend?!â
âMiss Grayson! Who are you wearing this evening?!â
You smile softly at the cameras as you pause on the marker, with Wally looking down at you all whilst you return his gaze with an indifferent stare.
He huffs with a small chuckle, leaning down to your ear and whispers. âIf weâre gonna sell this, youâre gonna have to swoon a little harder when I smile at you.â He says, pulling away and flashing you another smile.
And you⌠didnât know what to do. Why would you swoon over any boyfriend smiling at you? Are you meant to giggle like a moron? Smile back? All actions feel too over the top. Just when you freeze up on the spot, unsure how to act, Wally leans down and presses a kiss to your cheek, sending the cameras into a flashing frenzy before you two finally enter the gala hall.
âSo there she was.â Wally starts, telling a dramatic rendition of your romantic union. âMy best friends sister, looking breath taking. Iâve never seen a more beautiful girl in my life!â The women swoon in aw at his story telling, whilst you slug back a champagne flute and swapping out for a new glass from a waiter passing by. âI looked at her like the goddess she is and she looked at me like a pesty insect and I knew right then and there, she was the woman for me.â He concludes as the small group laugh in delight. Wallyâs hand slides around your waist. âAnd the rest was history, right babe?â
You smile playfully turning to the group.
âThats just when you first saw me. Why donât you tell them how we actually started dating?â You encouraged as Wally began to sweat bullets.
âH-how we started dating? R-right so we umâŚâ
âHow about I take this one?â You say, handing your drink to Wally for him to down. âIt took a while for us to get started because the moment I saw Wally, I thought he was handsome and striking. But he was my brothers best friend after all. Thatâs not just someone you test the waters with.â The women cooed at the story, allowing you to continue. âI was completely taken by him, especially the first time he flirted with me, I was about to ask him on a date, but then, I saw him flirt with another girl,â the crowd gasped. âThen another girl and anotherââ
âBabe.â He says nervously but you continued.
âThen I thought he was just a playboy, flirting with the world around him. I completely lost all interest, but the flame of my affection could never seem to snuff out no matter how much I tried.â
âSo what changed?!â The woman interjects and you looked up at him hoping he would tie off the tale end of it.
âTime.â He answered. âEventually I realised that no woman would ever measure up to her, so I just had to bite the bullet, I admitted to Dick that I was in love with his sister. Have been for years.â He says chuckling. âHe just rolled his eyes, reminding me that it was obvious to everyone except us.â
âThen he finally asked the question.â You say, still looking up at Wally as if in a trance, dreaming up plausible fabricated scenario.
âI attended a gala just like this, her plus one much to her disappointment. But I made her laugh until she snorted champagneââ
âThat did not happen!â You defend, but the crowed is already laughing off your defensive reaction.
âTotally did babe.â He teases sipping from your champagne flute.
The night carried on. Eventually Wally dragged you out to the dance floor until the music slowed and you two embraced into a waltz.
Your head resting against his shoulder.
You claimed it was because you were tired. But Wally seemed to know better, and had enough sense not to ruin a rare good moment.
He held you close, smiling softly. Enjoying this moment with you whilst it lasted.
The crowd seemed to fall away, as if it was only you two and eventually you were. The centre of a circle.
The crowd begins to tap their flutes. A sea of clinking glasses.
âWhy are they doing?â He asks, watching the crowd tapping away at their flutes.
âThey want us to kiss.â You answer, lifting your head off his chest, you tilt you chin up.
He leans down and presses a chaste kiss to your cheek. A murmur of boos exude from the crowd as Wally looks around wide eyed. The tapping of their glasses getting louder.
âGod⌠this is a little creepy.â He mumbles. You clasp his jaw, forcing him to look at you.
âJust appease the masses already.â You say, standing up onto your tippy toes, capturing his lips in a long drawn out kiss, that he leans deeply into. The crowd murmuring cheers at your kiss.
You pull away first. Looking at Wally with that smug smile of yours whilst he looked dazed and breathless.
âIâm not a bad kisser.â You praise yourself and Wally just hums stupidly in agreement.
Barbara and Dick kick back in front of the bat computer. Watching the monitor as a popcorn kernel falls from Dicks mouth.
âThey kissed.â He says, utterly shocked. Throwing a punch into the air as if he won something.
âAnd she didnât punch him.â Barbara says in shock, shoving her hand into the bowl and grabbing another fistful of popcorn. âHow long do you think itâll take for them to realise there is no mission?â

Summary: You're sipping tea on your apartments roof top. Taking in the city view, until an unexpected visitor appears. Where you quickly realise who Red Robin is.
Part II
You sip your tea as you lean over the ledge of your building. Taking in the scenery and occasionally checking your phone for a message from Tim.
He's been acting really distant lately.
You can't help but think of your last encounter, where you reiterated your wet dream with Red Robin in explicit detail.
Maybe you really weirded him out when you last saw him. You apologised and he insisted he was fine.
So if not that...then what else could it be?
"Not thinking of jumping over are you?" You jump at the sudden interruption of Tim's voice. Swinging around and ready to spill a thousand apologies for your odd behaviour, only to be shocked at the sight of Red Robin standing behind you confidently, a grin tugging at the corners of his lips.
Your heart begins to thud painfully. The horrifying, yet exiting moment where you are met face to face with your celebrity crush.
"R-Red..." You manage to mutter before your jaw flexes shut in shock. Unable to control yourself. To star struck to compose yourself. "Holy shit you're really here." You whisper, frozen in place, unable to move.
"It's a well known secret that the Wayne family financially support us vigilantes." Red Robin says, his voice unmistakably Tim's. "A little bird mentioned you're my number one fan." He says, a cocky grin blooming across his face. He takes a step forward, and another, until your standing face to face.
"... number one fan is an understatement." You manage to say. "Can...Can I get a photo with you?" You ask, holding up your phone. Red Robin flashes an award winning smile, nodding and taking your phone from your hand.
"Squeeze in." He says, holding the phone up, his hand sliding to your waist. His grip the same as Tim. The pieces in your mind falling into place as Red Robin takes the photo. "Hey youâre looking away. Try looking at the phone this time." He teases, posing for the camera again when you did something completely unhinged.
You turn around, snaking your arms around him and pulling him into a tight hug. "Woah there." He says, patting your back awkwardly until he relents and returns the hug.
Has similar features as Tim.
Hugs like Tim.
Smells like Tim.
Sounds like Tim.
Red Robin, the man you've been crushing on for as long as you remember is your best friend Tim.
Does he really think you can't tell?
A rush of emotions hit you all at once.
Embarrassed that youâve been so vocal about lusting after a man to the very same person. Youâve made Tim read your erotic fan fictions about himself for gods sake.
Confused, that your platonic feelings for Tim was crushed in an instant the moment you realised Red Robin is in fact Tim.
Bewildered by the fact you never put such an obvious two and two together.
Conflicted, because right now, youâre desperate to do unspeakable things to Tim right here, right now.
But then the ultimate question hits you. Tim has never protested against your swooning for Red Robin⌠Is it possible he feels something deeper than friendship for you?
Why didnât he tell you his alter ego?
âI canât believe itâŚâ you mutter. More so for other reasons than with how Red Robins interpreting your reaction.
And in that split second, you decide to play dumb.
âTim really sent you here without telling you about my school girl crush on you?â You asks teasingly. Knowing full well Tim/Red Robin has a in-depth knowledge of your lust for him.
âHe may have mentioned it was a bit more than a school girl crush.â He answered, a grin unsuccessful suppressed.
âOh.â You say, acting coyly. âFeel free to say no butâŚâ you glance up at him through your lashes. âIâve always dreamed of a kiss from you.â And suddenly the tables have turned. Your flustered demeanour vanquished and Red Robin suddenly looking quite flushed.
âIâm not sure⌠you donât really know who I am so ethically.â
âDo you have a girlfriend?â
âNo!â He answers quickly.
âThen whatâs the harm?â You coax, watching him internally flail to come up with an excuse. So you relinquish your hold on him. âHey, no need to agree. Thanks for visiting me, Iâll be sure to thank Tim properly for such a wonderful opportunity.â
âWait.â He says quickly, reaching out before awkwardly dropping his hands. âItâs not that I donât want to⌠itâs just⌠it would be unethical for me to kiss you⌠when you have no idea who i am⌠for all you know⌠I could be your best friend⌠and you wouldnât be comfortable kissing your friend would you?â He asks and you pretend to contemplate. Tapping your finger to your chin as if your deep in thought.
âI dunno⌠my best friend is Tim Drake. I wouldnât be mad kissing him.â You tease, grinning at this dumbstruck fool.
âYou wouldnât?â You shake your head.
âTim is smart, handsome, driven, incredibly kind⌠I wouldnât mind one little bit if I found out youâre Tim.â You coo and before you know it. Red Robin steps forward, grabbing your cheeks and yanking you forward as he plants a wet kiss to your lips. He moans into the kiss with the greatest relief. As if he has been holding his breath for years and finally he has broken the surface and gotten to breathe.
You return the kiss, tongue slipping into his mouth with the sweetest sigh Tim has ever heard in his life.
