Platonic! Rudo x Mother figure! Reader, Platonic! Enjin x reader
Notes: I'm not that far into the series (I'm on like episode ten or something) so I do apologise if Rudo or Enjin are out of character. Reader is a spherite. No one knows reader is a spherite. Female reader. Unnamed original character. Fluff. Hugs. Crying. Swearing. Reader works for the cleaners. Grammar errors.
"OH MY DAYS! CUT THE VEGETABLES OR I'M STICKING YOUR HEAD IN THE OVEN!"
A muffled voice yelled out as Rudo and Enjin approached some big doors. "Damn! Someone's in a good mood." The blonde cleaner chuckled to himself—while Rudo just stood there confused as shit—before clearing his throat. "Anyways, you're gonna wait out here while I butter our dear chef up." He explained, waving a hand at the teen—leaving no room for the sphereite to speak up—before opening the door and stepping in, quickly closing it behind him.
"Oh, Y/n!" Enjin sang as he walked over to a tall woman, you, and a much smaller boy, they were both huddled over a counter. The little man shaking with anxiety as he held up a knife. "I'm trying, Ma'am!" He cried but was immediately met with a light smack to the back of his head. "Try harder!" The lady yelled, crossing her arms and scowling, before shooting a glare straight at the cleaner. "Get the fuck out of my kitchen, Enjin!" She screamed but the blondie didn't even react. "Nah." He said casually, sliding onto one of the countertops.
You let out a small groan, a hand immediately going to your temples. "I'm about to grow grey hairs because of you brats." You hissed. "Think you're already growing some." The Akuta sassed as he pulled out a cigarette and lighter. "Dickhead." You replied, putting a hand on your apprentices shoulder. "Go take a break, kid. I'm already feeling parched from screaming at your ass." The boy—Enjin didn't know his name and you had never bothered to give it to him, which was rude because you two were basically besties at this point—nodded with a loud gulp. "Alright." He sighed, putting the knife down and walking away. Exiting through the back entrance.
"Did you stick his head in the oven?" Enjin commented after a beat of silence. You didn't answer him, instead grabbing a glass and sticking it under the sink, turning the tap. Water started to flow down before suddenly stopping. Grumbling, you slapped the metal before grabbing the glass. "Water's gone again.." You groaned, lifting the glass to your lips you took a long sip before turning to the cleaner. "So why are you here?" You asked, finally acknowledging him. "Glad you asked, chef." He drawled. "Got some fresh meet for you to meet." You raised a brow. "A newcomer?" Enjin nodded, taking a drag of his cigarette. "I mean kinda. Boss ain't here so it's not official, but the boy needs us."
"Kay.." You murmured, taking another sip of your drink. "So, I'm making him shake hands at the moment, and you're the last on my list." Placing the glass down, you leaned against the counter. "But why does he need to meet me?" You questioned as Enjin shrugged at you. "Well, you're gonna be cooking the boy's food ain't ya? So, he's gotta met the lady who might put hairballs in his soup!" You rolled your eyes. "I have never done something like that in my life!" You grumbled, turning your head towards the door. "You gonna the let boy in or what?" Enjin put his lighter away, his cigarette hanging out of his mouth, before hopping off the counter.
"Rudo!" He called, making you tense up. "You can come in now!" It can't be him, you thought silently. Maybe it was just coincidence. Just someone with your boy's name. Lifting your head, you stared at the boy walking in, your eyes sparkling with recognition. "Meet y/n! She's our head chef, so she'll be the one giving you some fucking delicious treats." Enjin introduced you enthusiasticly. While the boy just stood there, eyes going wide as a tense silence settled in. Clearing your throat, you turned towards your friend. "Enjin." You said through gritted teeth, "Can you pop out back for me? The kid wanted to ask you something." Enjin tilted his head, letting out a small 'hah?' before his eyes narrowed at your expression, immediately catching on. "Right. Call if you need anything." He said, quickly leaving you two alone.
"Is it you? Y/n?" Rudo murmerd after a beat of silence, eyes wider than an owls. Your jaw tightens as you stalk towards him, expression unreadable. You gently wrap your arm around him, pressing your lips to his head. "I'm here, Rudo." You whispered, a light sob coming from the boy as he wrapped his arms around you, his grip quickly tightening. "You're here.." He cried, head flat against your chest, soaking your apron with tears. "You're real!" You couldn't help but sigh, gently stroking his back before he suddenly pulled back. Tears still running down his face but his expression had changed.
"5 years." He murmured, his hands fisting at your clothes. "I thought you were dead! For five years!" He screamed. The poor boy started to shake in anger as he continued to yell and scream, before you gently tugged at his top, pulling him back into you. "I know. I know, baby." You whispered, placing a hand on his head.
