“So you’re saying that second-degree burns aren’t the best look after all?” He asked before chuckling to himself, dusting off the front of his shirt instinctually, even though it was fine—and he couldn’t really tell if it looked all right, anyway.

“No judgment if that’s your thing, but I don’t think that’s very advisable.” she wrinkled her nose thinking of the results that would have caused “Better to keep your skin where it is.” she said as a chuckle escaping from her lips.

Monica shrugged. “I haven’t had my heart broken or been disappointed personally by any of them yet. I’m an optimist.” She smiled bashfully.

America made a face “Well good for you then, I’ve been disappointed by them constantly.” she teased and smirked at the girl.

“I know drinking alone is kind sad and bore” she said with a smile and walk with her. “I’m Lorna Dane by the way. You look familiar to me” Lorna said looking at her analyzing and thinking where she saw the girl before.

America nodded in agreement, at the comment she tilted her head to the side the other’s name wasn’t strange to her either, she held up a finger as a thought came to her “I’m friends with your nephew if that’s what you meant.”

“Sounds like a perfect plan to me. I’d rather not be the one bringing down brick walls, I can’t even reach the top.”

“Cool then I’ll deal with them. But bringing down brick walls is so much fun.” America smirked and sighed.

“So you’re basically offering to be my guinea pig when it comes to trying either new cakes or just wanting to make a cake for fun?” Rosemary chuckled a little. “I suppose I can do that. I do need guinea pigs for this kind of thing.”

“Sure.” She shrugged her lips forming a smirk at the idea “If I end up with free food, I really don’t care.” America’s head cocked to the side “What are you making me first then?” she wiggled her eyebrows.

“Most people don’t suggest that I drink more caffeine. Can’t wait to tell Billy you told me to drink more coffee.” 

Tommy took his straw out of his cup and blew into it, making it whistle loudly. “Star City kind of blows, though, no matter who else is here.” 

LL: someone please explain what in heavens' name all those stories had to do with one another

LL: it was like a foreign language but, you know, what else have I to do with my time, HA HA!

LL: I was rather fond of the girl with the hair telling her mother that because of her she will never, ever be happy though. #relatable

[twelve minutes later]

LL: if something doesn't happen around here I think I'll go mad

Lorna looked at the girl and pointed to some kind of cabin. “There” she said. “I was going to grab a drink too,can I joy you?” she asked looking at the girl,she was kind of bored and finally met someone to share a drink with her.

America turned her eyes to where the other had pointed to and smirked “Thanks.” she nodded her head slowly at the girl “Sure, always good to have a drinking buddy.”

Tommy shrugged. “What am I supposed to drink? Merlot? There’s an open container law in Star City, and wine is gross anyways.” If it was a choice between being a boring, stodgy ‘adult’ and drinking slushies, he was absolutely sticking with the slushies. 

He followed along beside her for a few seconds. “So why are you sticking around here if you can like, punch holes into other places or…something like that.” He was not a hundred percent sure how it worked. He’d missed the whole thing. 

America made a face at him at the mention of wine, she never did enjoy that type of drink, “Diós, no, not wine.” she shook her head “You’re not a kid but you’re also not a 70 year old house wife.” she held up her on cup and shook it slightly “You could try coffee.”

“Maybe you don’t, but most people do.” He shrugged. “I dunno, the address is all vague and hazy now, you know.”

“To each their own, I guess.” America rose a brow at him, “Good to know, now you’ve wasted my time for nothing.” she finished with a sarcastically sweet smile aimed at his direction.

“Nah, leaving them conscious is just asking for more trouble” Sara shrugged “did that once, not doing it again.”

America nodded slowly, agreeing with the other “Can’t argue with that, if you leave them conscious they don’t stop complaining.”

“Then the first lesson better be thorough.” Monica chuckled a little, slipping her hands into the pockets of her shorts. “That can’t be too hard.”

America sighed and nodded her head “It better.” the corner of her lips lifted a little “You have to much faith in the males.” she chuckled.

“So far, being the key word.” she stated, keeping her hands on her hips. “America, i will drag you, kicking and screaming, if i have to. but you are going to train on a regular basis. what could possibly be more important that this? you are a hero. training is as much a part of that job as anything else.” she told her. “6:30 to 7. everyday. right here.” 

America sighed, anyone else had made that remark she’d have laugh but she knew if anyone could do just that would be the woman in front of her, “Fine, I can agree on more regularly but not everyday.” She tilted her head slightly “I’m also a struggling student, so classes and work.” she wishes hero was all she was, but she had tried that lifestyle before and it hadn’t paid off.

“I mean I knew you,” Tommy clarified. “The hair, the booty shorts, the ‘don’t fuck with me’ face. Not a lot of people could pull off all three at one time so congrats on that.” He took a very noisy drink on purpose. “Uh, yeah a slushie. Let’s not start this friendship off on the wrong foot by bad mouthing the best drink on the planet.’ 

“Yep, but be careful, he is not my type at all either, but he isn’t good at taking no for an answer. If you need backup then just call me, I’m used to him.”

“Too bad for him, no is all he’s getting from here. I’m not sure I will but I appreciate it, and I’m sorry you have to deal with likes of those.”
