Gavin eventually can't take it anymore and they have a conversation/argument that ends in them finally getting their shit together and confessing, with both of them not being able to hold in their feelings any longer.

They end up not only having their first kiss but sleeping together and it almost undermines the entire case when they get seen by one of the perps.

Connor: Next thing you know, he’s going to fall in love with you. Is that what you want?
