I get this really strange satisfaction from factory reseting an old phone and then somehow lodging a piece of concrete into it.
I’m still forming my ideas around this, but ultimately it’s a social critique on our obsession with the “next best tech items” and their true value. I’ll never forget the first one I did receiving a “But why??” comment - it let me know that I was onto something!

I have this old Google voice number that collects the most random voicemails - I like it. Also, Google tries to transcribe the messages and that’s fun too.

10 years ago today a friend and I set out to ride our bikes to the beach. We got about 100 miles away when we ran into another friend driving a truck and offering us a ride back to Indiana. We took the ride.
10 years and two children (and a whole bunch of other things) later I figured out a cheap way of accomplishing my goal of riding my bike to the beach. I would take my two kids on a mini bike trip (~17 miles) to Summit Lake State Park and arrive at their beach!
My 7 year old absolutely killed it! So amazed by her strength, perseverance, and positive attitude! And my 4 year old is amazing too - can’t wait for her to ride with us!

I wrote a song for Tonya Harding. It’s not at all related to the new biopic (I sent it to the music supervisors but they couldn’t find a way to use it). This song has been years in the making. I’ve been trying to write a Tonya Harding song since I was 15. I wrote a short piece about it here. There are two versions of the song and we are releasing them on tape cassette (available now) and on 7-inch (available soonish). All digital versions are available now:

In a moment you realize that you are standing in my shoes
In my socks, in my underwear, in my shirt, in my jacket
Underneath my umbrella
You listen to the rhythm of the rain pitter-pattering above you
The awkward conversations of those huddled near by
The bus is late again
Campus has gone smoke free but there is vapor all around
The new healthier way to consume precious nicotine
“Increased my wattage,” you eaves
The faint sound of brakes squeaking can be heard in the distance
Lights appear ages away, your public chariot approaches
You are going home
Soggy socks slosh up and down with the weight of each step
As you approach preparing yourself for the smell of mildew
Show your student ID
“I cannot let you on this bus,” she glances from the card to your face
Turning the card your way you remember taking all my clothes
And I’m smiling at you
