Pearl Mermaid Empress —Aesthetic
Pearl Merfolk
Water Type: Saltwater & Freshwater.
Region: All over the world, from the shallows to the deep and the tropics to the Arctic. Clams and mussels can be in fresh or saltwater, but oysters are only in salt or brackish habitats.
Bonded Animal(s): Species of Bivalves (Oysters, Mussels, Clams, Scallops, etc.)
Description: Pearl Merfolk are technically bonded to bivalves, but rather than have the appearance and personalities of the animal, these merpeople are only bonded to them due to their ability to detect the pearls that grew inside these shelled-creatures. Pearl Merfolk tails can come in a variety of colors, just like all the pearls they collect. These mythical beings pride themselves of decoring their bodies with the pearls they harvest.
Monarchy: Since pearls can be found globally, Pearl Merpeople have an Empress Mermaid known as the Mother of Pearls. She has a white, glossy, and nearly translucent fin. Due to this, there's not an inch of her that isn't covered in pearls to hide her almost transparent tail. The Empress' job is to manage the smaller kingdoms under her, which house the pearl farms providing income for her people. Pearls are these merfolk's only tradable resource to other Merpeople Clans since they're incapable of hunting or forging for themselves.
Siren Song Motel —Aesthetic
Beach Motel
As the name suggests, the Siren Song Motel is themed after fish sirens and mermaids. Bedspreads, lamps, and other décor are inspired by these beautiful creatures. This motel isn't far from a white, sandy beach. However, if guests don't feel like making the trip down to the shoreline, they can opt to relax by the pool instead.
Tarpon Mermaid —Aesthetic
Tarpon Merfolk
Water Type: Primarily Saltwater, but Freshwater Adaptable.
Region: Tropical and subtropical waters throughout the Atlantic Ocean. Primary habitat spans from Virginia to the Gulf of Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America, Brazil, and along the West African coast. They're highly adaptable and move between shallow bays, estuaries, open marine waters, and freshwater rivers.
Bonded Animal: Tarpon Fish
Description: These merfolk are famous for their naturally shining, silver scales. Like their bonded animal, Tarpon merpeople have great stamina. They're also feisty, playful, and highly athletic. The acrobatic creatures are known for spectacular mid-air jumps and stubborn, marathon-like fights. Despite their imposing size, the merfolk are skittish, yet intelligent beings as mature fish are wary of boats.
Harp Seal Mermaid —Aesthetic
Harp Seal Merfolk
Water Type: Saltwater
Region: Arctic & North Atlantic Oceans.
Bonded Animal: Harp Seal
Description: Harp Seal Mermaids are a type of Polar Merfolk. Their fins will change color depending on the life stage of their bonded animal. Harp Seal Mermaids are white while their seal is a baby. Their fin is gray with scattered black scales to mirror the black spots on a teenager seal's body. Finally, the merfolk's tail will become lighter, with a unique dark patch on their back, which resembles a harp; for the adult seal. In rare cases, the merperson can form a flipper like a harp seal instead of a fin if their bond is strong enough with a particular seal. Like their bonded animal, their personalities can range from timid and shy to boisterous and playful. They're naturally cautious around strangers but can be quite bold when safe or with their herd.

Ancient Greece: Public Bathhouses —Aesthetic
Outdoor Baths
Ancient Greek bathhouses were called balaneia. These were social and athletic hubs. Visitors first stripped down in changing rooms. Instead of using soap, they washed with various oils and abrasive sands, using it similar to a body scrub. People would then scrape their skin clean using a curved metal tool called a strigil. Afterward, individuals would use communal showers to rinse off. Otherwise, hip-tubs were for hot or cold plunge pools to rinse off. However, public bathhouses were often built beside gymnasiums. People often washed off in basins. Then they would swim for exercise and splash together in large, circular, communal pools with others before cleaning off the sweat next door at the bathhouse.
Frog Garden —Aesthetic
Turquoise Nature
There's a massive garden in the backyard of a white manor. It has white stone water fountains and trees surrounding the area. With the water features, many frogs and toads make this place their home. On the edge of the property, is a large turquoise greenhouse. It's filled with flowerpots and flowerbeds of matching colored blooms.
Treasure Merfolk —Aesthetic
Treasure Merpeople
Water Type: Saltwater
Region: Open Ocean
Bonded Animal: None
Description: Treasure Merfolk don't have a bonded animal. As such, these creatures have very basic tails and fins, which don't match any fish or other marine life. Based on their name, they're obsessed with finding treasure. These merpeople spend a lot of time around sunken ships, searching for chests of gold and jewels. They then collect said treasure and melt it down to decorate their tails. Treasure merfolk are capable of doing this by using their special ability to heat up their bodies. Due to this, these beings tend to have golden fins with bejeweled scales. These merfolks' flamboyance is a form of aposematism. They warn predators to stay away, while flashing brightly to attract and disorient prey.
Jellyfish Mermaid —Aesthetic
Jellyfish Merfolk
Water Type: Saltwater. (Craspedacusta sowerbii jellyfish is freshwater).
Region: Open ocean and shallow bays of the Pacific Ocean. Ranging from Alaska, Japan, and Mexico.
Bonded Animal: Pacific Sea Nettles Jellyfish.
Description: Female mermaids tend to have the bell of a jellyfish around their hips, resembling a puffy skirt. Males have the bell atop their heads with the tentacles falling around at them. This resembles an Ichimegasa, a type of Japanese kasa hat. Depending on the type of jellyfish a jellyfish merfolk is, their bodies may be translucent from the waist down instead of solid, like a Crystal Jellyfish Mermaid. Since jellyfish don't exactly have personalities, jellyfish merpeople tend to develop their own unique personalities. However, they all share quiet and solitary behavior. Jellyfish merfolk also tend to stay with their own kind, bonded animal, and other blooms of jellyfish.

Coral Reef —Aesthetic
Types of Reefs
Coral reefs are bustling underwater ecosystems built by tiny marine animals called polyps. Often called the "rainforests of the sea," they cover less than one percent of the ocean floor, but support over twenty-five percent of all marine life. These reefs provide vital food, coastal protection, and economic resources to billions of humans. This specifically features a Fringing Reef, which grows directly along shorelines. Aside from this, there are two other types of reefs. Barrier Reefs are separated from the land by a deep lagoon. Finally, Atolls are circular reefs formed around sunken volcanoes.
Pastel Coconut Girl —Aesthetic
What is Coconut Girl?
Coconut Girl is a sub category to the Coquette Aesthetic. It centers around the Nymphet Aesthetic interpretation of tropical beaches typically associated with the Florida Keys, Hawaii, and Caribbean islands. This created atmosphere expresses the femininity and youth associated with vacationing during the summertime. Although the art style started in the Nymphet community, it later gained more mainstream appeal and was connected to other beach-related aesthetics such as surf culture. Because of this, visuals may differ and is connected to the practice of mass-tagging.
Seaside Inn —Aesthetic
A little beachfront inn is ideal for a perfect sea view. It also allows great access for docks to rent a boat. This way, one can go on a whale watching tour to see the majestic creatures or other sea life, such as dolphins. Otherwise, people can relax on the beach or indulge in other water activities like scuba diving.

Seaside Princess —Aesthetic
Sun-Kissed Kingdom
Although she's adorned in shells, gold, and pearls, this princess is quite adventurous. She often runs around barefoot and in easy-to-pull-off gowns. This allows the fun-loving royal to run down to the sandy, white beach directly beside the palace to play and jump into the water. It's a nice way to cool off on the beautiful sunny days.
