            her original plan forgotten, ana opened the door to peggy’s room –– it was dark but from what ana could see of it, there was a layer of dust covering nearly everything in the room. she was about to step into it - to turn on a light or open up a window - when a voice behind her caused her to jump. “ miss underwood, ” she exclaimed as she turned around, “ i thought you weren’t home !! the door was unlocked and i was going to ––– but then ––– dottie... her room is a mess. ”

❛ i’ve been THINKING— ❜      it’s been a week or two since ana had asked dottie if she’d be willing to train with her.     and admittedly,  at first dottie had thought it was a joke,  she had thought it was utterly ridiculous.     ana had HEARD ABOUT what she was capable of.     maybe she hadn’t SEEN it yet,  but maybe that was were half the fun lay for the russian.     she had grown increasingly BORED with the fact that there was nothing to do since she couldn’t leave the house,  really,  peggy’s conditions.     stay so they could have an eye on her 24/7.     at first,  dottie had been hesitant about the redhead’s request,  but then,  thinking about how jeeves would be everything BUT pleased with this sort of development,  it had brought a smirk to her face.     it was the same smirk that was now painting her lips as she was approaching ana.     ❛ remember when you asked me to be your SPARRING PARTNER?     i think it would be fun.    i’m in. ❜

            truth be told, ana’d practically forgotten about the request she made of the russian, having written it off as simply not meant to be.       however, as dottie approaches, the memory of asking miss underwood if she might be willing to spar with her comes rushing back.       with a great amount of effort, ana tries not to look too excited by the other woman’s answer ––– however late it might be. ( should she be worried about that smirk playing in the corners of dottie’s lips ?? )       “ i do, ” she answers simply, “  though i am curious why you’re coming to me about this now. i asked some time ago; i thought maybe you were not interested.  ”
