I'm seeing a lot of "Cyan SOUL is Kris's original SOUL" popping up again
Everyone. Really. Did we not play the same game?
Did we all not see this during the Jackenstein and Titan Spawn fights? And then the red heart lights up?
And it doesn't stop there, far from it
1. Red heart pillows in the Holiday mansion
The Holiday house, where they spent much time as a kid, is decorated with very distinctly RED heart (or human-SOUL) shaped pillows. Did Carol just get them when she started grooming Kris for dark world shenanigans? No! Because Noelle recognizes this as something they (supposedly) pranked her with as a kid. In fact:
They've been here since before Dess left. So we have red heart pillows, that the SOUL blends in with perfectly, which, since they're in Dess's closet, in her room that Carol has meticulously preserved just as Dess left it, such that she never even made the bed, we can safely assume that these were around years and years ago
And not a single blue or light blue heart in sight!
2. Heart Crochet in the Dreemurr's house
Also, Toriel has a crocheted human-SOUL shaped heart hanging in her living room as a center piece. The exact color is a little vague, but that doesn't look even a little blue to me
Finally, the main reason people are making this connection in the first place is this one shot of solo Kris fighting the cyan SOUL's bullet pattern, and linking that to the 10th anniversary stream where the toy knife is now located in the expanded ruins area, which has Deltarune music in it
Except here's the thing
3. Kris's knife is real, not a toy
They don't have a toy knife! They have a Real Knife!
Like the one associated with Chara, the human in Undertale they parallel with FAR closer than Patience!
They cut pie with it and everything! Why are we on about toy knives when they have been shown with a real kitchen knife since chapter 1!?
4. They have red eyes!
This feels silly to have to point out, but it has been a running thing in the fandom for as long as I've been here that red eyes are restricted to when the SOUL controls Kris. When we have seen their eyes twice when they have the SOUL removed, and they are a Bright Red. Really, nothing more needs to be said about this one I think
"But in the Dark World Kris is blue!"
You mean they're Dess's Room colored?
5. Dark World Kris's color scheme is mirrored by Dess's room (or vice versa)
Because that is what I see front and center. Almost the exact same shade of cyan as the stars, dark blues, and the purple and maroon ascot looking just like Dess's bed. Do we think this means nothing?
In Conclusion
The red heart we play as is Kris's SOUL, and has been since long before the game has started. None of the people in their lives think associating them with a red heart is at all odd or new. And the idea that they must be blue in the Dark World because their original SOUL is blue, assumes they just have red eyes to mislead you, and ignores the much stronger color similarities they have to Dess, which fits in with the two being narratively linked so heavily in the story
