hi! i’m arnika! i’ve had this blog for a few months but barely post. i wanna change that, i just get a little anxious online is all…! my fave guy is wolfgang grimmer from monster, a series by naoki urasawa. he's my fictional soulmate and i not only almost completely relate to him, but he serves as my biggest inspiration and influences me daily to be a kinder person and someone who makes the world a better place. yes, i know he's fictional but i believe he is in my life for a reason.

i'm autistic and anxious, don't take it personally if i don't talk too much! i am a lover of people but i just get overwhelmed. i like to draw and such but i experience art block a LOT. so usually i will commission others to bring my ideas to life.

i'm a very nice person though and i genuinely want to leave a positive impact on everyone who meets me. :)

not to be a dunce, but my hair is finally long enough to match my self insert exactly. my eyebrows are pierced. my nose ring is back to the pointy one (just not in these pics) and hmmmm this is gender euphoria just being able to match the self insert for my favourite series and my favourite guy. cringe is so dead it might as well be called latin.

you all know how i feel about grimmer, i don’t have to reiterate anything here. i’m just so honored to have had this tattooed today for my birthday. i was feeling so depressed earlier and wanted to end stuff but then my day got better as it went on, and i realized i am valid to be sad but there’s so much beauty in the world too. now when i feel sad and especially dejected i can look down at my tattoo and see grimmer’s reminder and beautiful face- “smile”. he handled just about everything that happened, and so can i.

this isn’t completely done until i transfer all my grimmer merch to this bag, but i bought a “magic book” itabag and removed most of the design with acetone and then painted obluda onto the cover with posca markers! it doubles as a cosplay prop, i’m thrilled!!!

y’all i’m so sorry for being inactive. i got a second job to support my grimmer habit (jk…unless?) i actually have a ton of stuff to share :)

i wanted a pretty canon looking dakimakura for grimmer after all, so i drew this up. i was gonna do two distinct sides but i got really tired from even just doing one side, so i just made some very minor changes and flipped the canvas as a second side. since this is my own personal dakimakura i will go ahead and admit i referenced his character sheet heavily, but i did do all the work regardless. can you tell his sweater outfit is my fave? lmao

i’m really proud of this.

sorry for the shitty kitchen images LMAO but i made a few keychains for my grimmer itabag :) as you can see, one is a kandi keychain with his name, the other is a photo card i made and attached to a keychain, and on the end (in the itabag picture) you can see some real life fanart i did (i suck at drawing traditionally but i hope it still looks okay). im sorta obsessed with making photo cards; they’re fun :) by the way, the fanart in the photo card (part of the bead keychain) was done by @tempural and it’s also being made into an actual keychain!

there is an ai version of “real life” wolfgang that i’m sorta in love with LMAO. you can easily find it on youtube in a video with different monster characters as real people. anyway, i wanted to draw that version of wolfgang as i think he’s really handsome and cute. i’ve been working on this off and on at work so it’s not super great or anything but i actually love how it turned out :)

like watching monster from the start is an Experience. goddamn do i love lunge. he’s such a bastard at this point in time but i feel so sorry for him too. and god DAMN i’m low key obsessed with obluda. my fiance and i are constantly watching the end credits to see what panel comes next. he’s such a goddamn little goblin, i just adore him. also nina fortner. my god i love you queen. and we just watched an episode where eva goes full on psychopath and i swear to god i sorta love her too in a disaster sort of way. also…i’m gonna say it. otto heckle is adorable. and dieter made me almost cry. we’re on like episode 15 and i’ve already internally cried for so many children. i want to protect them so bad. also i can’t WAIT to get to grimmer just so my fiance sees how important he is to me and what a goddamn angel he is. i’vee already watched his episodes autistically (aka i watch every single one of them over and over) but i still can’t wait to get to him. that absolute prince.

really quick ref but i updated my self insert for monster (aka it’s just me but in monster style lmao). i seriously change my appearance so much but i ended up getting a haircut so i needed to change arnika’s look too, to match mine.

i still consider her to just be…me, but i’m thinking about how she would fit into the monster universe and how she’d meet grimmer and all that shit.

their relationship would be super complex but i find beauty in that. because i think they would have a platonic soulmate sorta deal going on but they’d have a physical relationship too. i know that i’ve said that before but i think it’s important that they would be very close and bond over shared trauma and experiences but it wouldn’t be anything where there is a romantic agenda pushed…it’s hard to convey what i mean haha but they’d be really close and sorta like a married couple without there being any pretenses. idk. i don’t feel romantic attraction irl either (even though i am engaged but my fiance understands what’s going on and is the most supportive person i know). maybe i’m sorta basing mine and wolfgang’s selfship on my own relationship irl even though wolfgang wouldn’t feel ~romance~ either, i don’t think.

sorry for rambling lmaooo i just really am glad i have a selfship sorta dealio to where i feel comfort and coping in a way that is healthy even if not everyone “gets it”.

by the way; this was a reference for a keychain because i commissioned a clay keychain maker to make wolfgang and i as lil clay people. so im excited about that hahaha. i feel no christmas spirit at ALL so in addition to saving money ive also been giving myself little commissions here and there, as a treat. i’m so sad this time of year (well, not sad, more like just exhausted because i work for a shipping company and christmas is…yeah) but wolfgang grimmer seriously has given me so much joy, and my fiancé and i are watching monster from the start because my mom bought me a bootlegged box set of the english dub. it’s an incredible show. my fave character other than grimmer is lunge but jesus christ now im rambling.

sorry for like, being super absent here by the way. my anxiety is turned up to the highest setting 24/7 and i feel like i annoy people (which is unfounded but you know. ANXIETY) so i typically stay off social media so i don’t get on anyone’s nerves. but i truly enjoy seeing y’all’s posts. i just have to get the courage to come here.
