reed was blipped out which makes the most sense to me bc i know he would have been thinking of ways to fix everything and hounding tony’s ass before scott, steve and nat could .. but the mcu doesn’t like us that much which is fine :) :) - knowing that the avengers took care of things has made him a little more laidback. he’s still constantly working but he’s now totally fine with taking a backseat when it comes to being powered. that is until f4 have to be involved - because then he’s all for it ,, that’s his team and his family so he’ll be there all the way. he’s just happy to be back in one piece, be able to work away and also spend time with his family.

major friends are his team, allies include the avengers, defenders, foes include doctor doom aka #1 bc duhhhh,, then you've got the likes of namor, frightful four, kang... yuhh

now that’s tricky ,, he still thinks heroes should absolutely be held accountable. but does he think they should be in power??? ehhh. he definitely thinks it needs to be a mix of the two - the country should stay as it is now.

physically he’s surprisingly fine and probably the fittest and healthiest almost 50 year old man you will ever find but he’s definitely taking care of himself now. takes the time to relax and rest up. mentally? he’s still working his ass off so that aint too good but hey .. it wouldn’t be reed if he wasn’t work too hard and forgetting about the little things.

“ eighteen ? ” rhodey’s jaw doesn’t drop , per se , but — well . that’s kind of an insane amount . “ yeah , i’d hope they’re honorary , i can’t imagine how many years that’d take otherwise . ” of course , this is coming from rhodey , for whom one masters of aeronautical engineering was more than enough academia to last a lifetime . “ why are there more doctors in the superhero business than anywhere else ? ” yes , he knows he can only really name three . but all of those three have multiple doctorates , so .
“i started at caltech at like.. fourteen, i think? my father was very encouraging." understandable to an extent .. his dad had a child prodigy in his grasp, of course he would have been pushed to see how much he could handle. “while everyone else was starting their first degree at eighteen-nineteen .. i was starting my fifth.” a shrug follows at rhodey’s question. “we tend to get ourselves in some trouble that leads to dna altering and powers we never wished for.” probably for the best though. he was glad it was his group who got exposed rather than anyone else. at least they had realised how to handle themselves and the public over the years. “i had a love-hate relationship with school... clearly.”
Tyrone couldn’t help but feel like he was inconveniencing Reed by even asking, but who else was he gonna go to? As a TA, Ty was already expected to be further ahead in his classes than any other students, so getting low grades wasn’t really ideal, “You’re really saving my ass here,” He chuckled, whipping out a spiral-bound notebook so he could remember all this later, “Yeah, that all makes sense. My professor focuses a lot on the criticism of media and news, so I figured your work in the science field would kind of line up with that. Like, you have to advertise your experiments before getting funding, right?”
“it’s no problem, kid. honestly.” he couldn’t even pretend this was boring him or that he had something better to do. plus? he liked tyrone a lot more than others his age. of course he was going to entertain them and try to help out in any little way he could. “oh definitely. it’s all about persuasion, right?” reed explains, “if you go back to the advertising comment, the purpose of advertising is persuading you to act in some way.. i definitely had to do that a lot of the time in the past.” thumb points behind him to a computer. “i can always find one of my old proposals and email you it so you get an idea of how i would use all of that in speech.”
“Looking to intern for some of the most prolific inventors and scientists in this city is so hard when you don’t even have your credentials thanks to falling into another world all together butt naked,” @reshieldedstart·
“you were butt naked?” reed responds, brows furrowed as he studied the other. “i can’t say i have any more capacity to take on anyone else.” because simply mentoring one person was beyond his limits at this point. “but write down some way i can contact you. if i have any openings, i’ll let you know — what are your credentials?”

“i don’t even remember them all, forget about fields i don’t have degrees in.” he admits, small shrug following. “ i think i have around 18 doctorates? most of which are honorary." reed paused. the lines truly blurred. “i think i was working on my fifth when i met sue and ben?”

“some of the kids around here are incredibly bright.. i can’t deny that, emma.” reed mumbles, placing a coffee down in front of the woman before moving around to his own chair. “i’m not sure how my lectures around here help though.. i feel like i’m just showing off to all of these kids.” even he knew pretty well how annoying it could get listening to his own voice — he didn’t need the kids at xavier's to tell him that. he heard it enough from his own team. “that’s the last thing i want to think about though - how’s your day been?”
“well, this sounds like a bad idea,” he sighed, “lets do it.”

Of course he shouldn’t have expected Reed to just hand him the answers… Ty was probably being a little too hopeful, but Reed was one of the smartest guys he knew, so it was at least worth asking, “Well, it’s an elective course, so I’d really like to get a passing grade,” Not waste his money retaking a college course, “I know it’s like, persuasive communication, but the projects are all kinda vague. You have to write persuasive papers on your experiments though, right?”
“we’ll get you a passing grade, i wouldn’t worry.” granted, that was if the other actually listened to reed. the older man was certainly happy his education days were behind him. not to mention the amount of degrees he had at this point .. it was hard to keep up. “the way i would explain to people learning this would be that rhetoric is like advertising in the sense that all that matters is that you buy.. everything else is besides the question. dialectic is more like consumer reports trying to establish whether the product does what the advertisements say it does.” a pause, finally closing the book he had been looking at to give tyrone his full attention. “so it’s only focused on the effect vs. the truth or falsity of a statement. that makes sense, right?”
