Thanks for the words of wisdom Auntie. *A baby needs to both gestate and "get born." SO DOES YOUR DREAM. It's a natural process with built-in steps--a beginning, a middle, and an end (which is also another new beginning). *You need support. Unfortunately, not all support will be the right kind of support. People will give you unsolicited (and unhelpful) advice. People will criticize. THEIR RESPONSE TO YOUR DREAM IS ABOUT THEM (AND NOT YOU OR YOUR DREAM). IGNORE THEM. THANKFULLY, SOME PEOPLE (THE KIND WHO ARE HAPPY AND CONTENT WITH THEIR OWN LIVES) WILL SUPPORT YOU BEAUTIFULLY. They will know exactly how to listen and love you in the midst of your process. They will be okay with both your frustrations and your elations. Seek out the company of these people! And, during the birthing process, AVOID THE PEOPLE WHO CANNOT SUPPORT YOU IN THE WAY YOU NEED. IT'S NO DIFFERENT WHEN YOU'RE BIRTHING A DREAM. IF YOU ARE JOB HUNTING, YOU'LL HEAR ABOUT THE NASTY MARKET. IF YOU ARE STARTING A BUSINESS, THEY'LL TELL YOU HOW THEIR NEIGHBOR'S BUSINESS FAILED. "No," THEY'LL SAY, "IT'LL NEVER WORK, YOU CAN'T DO IT, IT'S DOOMED." *In the end, it's your process. Own it. IN ORDER TO DO ANYTHING BIG -- FROM HAVING A BABY TO BIRTHING A DREAM, YOU HAVE TO GET INSIDE YOURSELF, TO A DEEPLY CENTERED PLACE. DO IT. GO THERE. AND GET BUSY. GIVING BIRTH IS HARD WORK, PAINFUL EVEN. BUT, FROM THAT INNER STRENGTH, YOU CAN DO IT. TRUST YOURSELF. YOU HAVE DEEP WISDOM ABOUT YOUR OWN PROCESS THAT OTHERS CANNOT HAVE. YOU REALLY DO KNOW WHAT'S BEST. *FINALLY, birthing happens one contraction at a time. WHEN YOU BIRTH A DREAM, FOCUS ON THE STEP YOU ARE ON. DO NOT THINK AHEAD ABOUT THE NEXT STEP OR THE HARDEST STEP. YOU WILL GET IT DONE... ONE STEP AT A TIME.
