And Bucky smiles broadly as he smells the flowers, then kisses John.

Summary:

John and Bucky's relationship becomes public. So Valentina tries to capitalize on their relationship, but they won't let that happen—until a mission makes them change their minds. But if they do this, they'll do it their way to become a power couple.

The title of this fanfic is inspired by Harry Styles' "Sign of the Times," because I just recently watched "Project Hail Mary" and I'm obsessed with it, which is why I included it in both the title and the story. Anyway, I hope you enjoy it <3

Summary:

Bucky receives a call from the school because his son got into a fight with some other kids, and since John isn't there, he has to go along on his own to find out what happened.

Silly little things I like to do before kicking asses.

"John, it's 4 in the morning, what are you doing?" And Bucky could ask him to go back to bed, he knows John would obey him, but he doesn't do it because he knows that's probably the last place he wants to be at that moment.

"Would you believe me if I said I was making breakfast?" John joked, trying to hide what was happening to him, as always. Bucky could ask him what's wrong, to talk to him, but he knows he would only get his typical "I'm fine" shitty response. So Bucky simply approaches Walker, wrapping both arms around his waist as he hugs him and rests his face against his warm, freckled back, giving John time to tell him what's going on.

"Nightmares. That's all, I promise." It wouldn't be the first time that happened; Bucky understood perfectly what it was like to be tormented at night by your own mind.

"Do you want to talk about it?"

"No. It's nothing, Buck, I promise."

And Bucky sighs, but he doesn't insist, as he knows how stubborn his boyfriend can be when it comes to saying things, and honestly, he doesn't feel like arguing with John at the damn 4 in the morning. So he simply rubs his cheek against the man's shoulder and rests his chin there. "Okay, but you know you can always talk to me, right?" he kisses his shoulder.

"I will always be here for you and listen to you, you're not alone, John. You have me and I have you," while John sighs at the sight of that genuine, soft, and pure smile on Bucky's face and thinks, "Damn, how did I get so lucky to win the heart and love of this incredible man?" Since John often feels he doesn't deserve it.

So finally, John would open up to Bucky while they both have a cup of tea and toast, enjoying each other's company in the quiet and serenity of the tower's dining room in the middle of the night.

Summary:

The Thunderbolts help the Fantastic Four build a machine to send them back to their world, but something goes wrong with the machine when Reed tests it, and John ends up in the Austrian Alps of 1945.
