sophie: so, I wasn't sure if you wanted to come back to Vancouver with me (I have to go back to filming yellow jackets) or if you needed to be off..doing stuff?

mikko: do you want me to? i don't have anything going on until july. and that's just a few days for my hockey summer camp for kids back home.

soph: but it's new and surprising to me, too -- which is why i had no idea how to gage your reaction. it's a lot. i know France isn't your first choice of places to be this month, especially subjexted to all this craziness, but i'm happy you're not taking it too hard being here 😏 eh, maybe? but you make a really good red carpet partner. especially for hiding behind if i don't really want to he seen -- you're coming in very handy. yes, really? are you shocked my run of horror movies were never deemed cannes worthy 😂 but thank you. can I be real with you here? I keep thinking i'm going to wake up and this was all never even real, especially last night.

mikko: i'm just happy to be with you. doesn't matter where or what we're doing. true, but france is a nice vacation spot. i'm not complaining. full honesty, idk if my knee could've handled a long postseason anyway. you make it easier. haha, that's just because i'm tall. but happy to help. 😉 well... i was going to argue, but ig most of your stuff has been horror or thriller. you're so talented, though! those genres deserve more recognition. nah, you deserve all of this, love.

soph: i'm really hoping this whole crazy cannes trip doesn't send you running after this. I know it's kinda crazy and not what you're used to, especially with so much happening. after the actual premier of the movie tonight, i'm thinking (hoping) things should calm a little, maybe not so many people with cameras running around us, but idk. it's my first time here, too..but i'm really happy you're here with me.

mikko: lol, it hasn't been bad, soph. different, but not bad! don't get me wrong, i'd love to still be playing, but at the same time, i love getting this time with you. if that means i have to be subjected to lots of pictures... eh, i'll live. they want you anyway, lol, not me. really? you haven't been before? i'm happy to be here. and so, so proud of you.

soph: I like that I can be your silver lining in all of this. keep it up and my head won't fit thru my trailer door 😂 but for real, i'm glad you're 'ok', especially after hearing all that. what is it they say? there's no i in team? well then when can you be here by?

mikko: pssh, you have been for years, i just don't have to hide it anymore. hah, well, i'd hate to make you start acting like a diva on set. relatively speaking... no, especially when you're missing key parts like roope and seggy. and i was limited. just not our year. next will be better, hopefully. um, i have to meet with the docs monday, so maybe mid-week?

soph: i'm trying not to be overly excited over it (even tho i selfishly am)..how you holding up? do you think maybe coming to see me will help take your mind off of it?

mikko: lol, it's fine, part of me wanted to get out early to see you. i'm still bummed we are, but that's definitely a plus. i'm ok? disappointed and frustrated that i couldn't do more for the team, but a lot of us were banged up, and minny is a hell of a team. is what it is. i think it'll help my mood a lot, yes.
