Needle In High Park is a project that means a lot to me. Growing up in Toronto, High Park was always one of those places you end up returning to, whether it’s to clear your head, link with people, or just take in the city at a different pace. A lot of memories tied to that space shaped who I am, and this remix album pulls from that energy in its own way.

Across 19 remixes, I’m flipping familiar sounds into something new while keeping that raw, boom bap feel intact. It’s reflective, a bit gritty, and still rooted in the city that raised me.

There are two versions of the project. The Bandcamp version is a dedicated remix drop for the heads who want to support directly, while the DSP version is available everywhere you stream, with a few bonus cuts that aren’t on Bandcamp.

This beat tape is a tribute to The Big Slice, a spot that was more than just pizza. Back in my university days, it was part office, part date spot, part sanctuary, right in the middle of that Yonge corridor energy between Play De and Traxx. Late nights, quick slices, real conversations, and quiet moments all lived there.

The Hidden Blade is the spiritual follow up to Burning Paradise. Created in collaboration with Vanglorious, The Hidden Blade explores the idea that the most powerful force is often the one that stays unseen until the right moment. Drawing inspiration from Hong Kong action films, Asian psychedelic records, and the atmosphere of 1980s ninja cinema.

I wanted to share a bit about how this remix came together.

When I heard the vocals for “Soul Ice,” I knew I wanted to keep it simple and smooth. The vibe was already there, so my goal was to build something cool and soulful around it. I dug through a few records and ended up using parts from three or four different ones that all felt like they belonged in the same world.

One record gave me the main melody, another added some texture, and the rest helped shape the rhythm and feel. I focused more on space and groove than doing anything flashy. Letting the beat breathe was important so the vocals could sit comfortably.

When your face is on the poster, you have to deliver. Not just with the beats, but with the look too. This SP-404 beat set was all about serving sound and style at the same time, a nod to the influence of Handsome Boy Modeling School while keeping it raw and modern.

Me and Prof's new album "Go Pro" is out now on all platforms, and the video is a real tribute to Toronto’s underground hip hop scene. This project was born at Laylow and Fresh Produce, so we wanted the video to feel like home. You’ll see familiar faces, real energy, and the passion that keeps this culture alive.

The sound is heavy boom bap with dusty samples and that true underground feel we grew up on. Everyone who helped build this album gets their shine, from the homies doing backups to the engineer who made everything hit hard.

After months in the lab, The Professor and Mr. Ilango are ready to drop their full-length collaboration album Go Pro on November 25. This project isn’t just another beat tape. It’s a cinematic ride through raw hip hop soundscapes, grime, and precise production.

Each track has its own unique intensity. From the explosive opener “Go Pro” and the street-fueled “Gun Bust” (ft. Spade The Shadow) to the grindhouse-inspired “Soapland” and the crew anthem “Brothers Till We Die,” the record blends sharp lyricism and gritty boom bap energy with The Professor’s layered sound and Ilango’s relentless production style.

The guest features bring serious heat. H4z4rdous, K.O. Strat, Bo Gottaeat, Le Zeppo, and West_avenue, a who's who of Toronto's underground scene.

You know that moment when you're in the studio and everything just clicks? That's exactly what happened when we were putting together "Fonzie" with Tha Professor and K.O. Strat. The whole concept came from one of those late-night sessions where we were talking about movies and music, and someone mentioned that Samuel L. Jackson line from Pulp Fiction - "we're gonna be like three little Fonzies, and what's Fonzie? Cool." It just hit us. That unshakeable confidence when everything around you is chaos? That's the energy we wanted to capture.

Working with these guys was incredible because they immediately understood the vision. We weren't trying to sample the movie or do some basic interpolation, we wanted to capture that feeling. There's so much noise in the scene right now, everyone trying to be the loudest or most controversial, but sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is just be cool, and let the work speak for itself.

Mr. Ilango brings the heat straight from the SP-404 with “Red Horse and Pulutan”, a live beat set performed at Makilala, a Filipino restaurant located at 105 Queen Street East, that hosted a vibrant community event blending music, art, and culture. 

The new collaboration album A Thorn in the Lion’s Paw from Mr. Ilango and H4z4rdous is out now. Drawing inspiration from the classic tale of Androcles and the lion, the project explores themes of pain, struggle, and the strength that comes from facing both head-on.

Every track carries a weight of its own, combining sharp lyricism with gritty, uncompromising production. It’s an album that doesn’t just entertain—it tells a story about endurance, release, and transformation.

“Iron Knife” is the new track from K.O. Strat, Tha Professor, and Mr. Ilango — and it hits like a psychedelic fever dream. Imagine classic boom bap drums colliding with swirling, ayahuasca-inspired textures. The result is raw, hypnotic, and heavy.

Each artist brings their own energy: sharp verses, cryptic wordplay, and gritty production that pulls you into a jungle of sound. It’s underground hip hop at its most experimental — sharp, dark, and unforgettable.

When you talk about emcees who laid the blueprint, LL Cool J’s name stays etched in stone. “The Force” is one of those joints where he reminds me of peak "Rampage" LL ... the return of the Overlordian. The original track, produced by the legendary Q-Tip, is already a classic. But I wanted to approach it differently, give it that darker, more cinematic energy.

Just dropped a new remix of “Poderosa” by Navy Blue featuring Billy Woods. The original track hit hard—deep, poetic, and full of emotion. I wanted to flip it into something darker and more cinematic while keeping that same raw energy.

This remix leans into dusty boom bap drums, eerie textures, and a stripped-down, hypnotic vibe. I also edited the video to match—lo-fi and moody, with a grainy, dreamlike feel.

Navy Blue and Billy Woods are two of the most powerful voices in underground hip hop. This remix is my tribute, my way of reinterpreting something already powerful in a new light.

Just dropped a new beat tape called Precious Elements. This one’s a collection of joints dedicated to comics and collector culture (action figures, sneakers, records, etc). I’ve been building over the last little while — all made on the SP-404MKII, pulling from a mix of cartoon and anime soundtracks, psych records, and krautrock weirdness.

I got the chance to do a beatset at the Baby G, as part of a new series of events "The Elements", hence the name "Precious Elements". Shout outs to H4z4rdous for inviting me down, and all the other performers that night.
