{ *… } there was something about the monkey king that always sent her mind off track and, got her thinking of things she rarely did. like the twinkle in his eyes as he teased her, the grin on his lips as he joked around and, the love he had for his daughter. she never knew how to process these thoughts so she pushed them away and would continue to do so. “i’d quite like to meet miss meihua one day - the things i know in my memory of her seem to do no her no justice with how you talk about her.”
“a monk in nepal? dancing? you definitely need to tell me about it one day!” he looked at her with curious eyes, interest strong in those golden orbs. but he held himself back. instead, with a light smirk and mischief gracing his features, he chirped “you and i, we should totally go on a dance together! i’ve learned a lot of kinds from others, but i’d love to see what you have learned.” “i’m glad she’s bright, though, especially considering there’s no one else around as her known family but, well, me. but she’s positive, and she’s got a bunch of uncles and aunties that she absolutely adores.and i’m sure you’ll be family too soon, she always latched onto everyone.” he chuckled, knowing how big little meihua’s heart was. there was an empty space, left by her mother, but the people he had met had filled it up. and he tried his best to do so as well. he just hoped it was all enough to keep her happy. he was unaware of the thoughts running in her mind, although he did take the slight pause. the monkey king may act as a fool, may not understand others or held such a perceptive nature like a certain monk did, but he was known for his cunning for a reason. however, he also had mellowed out, these days there were no perilous journey like that of the one he had with those he called brothers today. so as such, instead of prodding, he lets things go the way she wanted it to. accepting the change of topic, he opted to gush and seemed to brighten up even more ( how, no one was sure ) as they talk about his precious little girl “oh, you would adore her! she’s a little sunshine, and i know she’d love to get to know you!” there’s no doubt that the god held such great love for his daughter, and he tried his best for her. she had been what kept him in check and made him more, well, less of a freewheeling troublemaker with no responsibilities. how long had it been since he kept this face, usually he’d be over it already, shedding it off for another of whatever interested him. but meihua knew this image as her father, and so he kept it. plus, he was definitely a very handsome looking man so he had no problems what so ever with it.
