Brunch Hours | Aura & Viggo
@mpviggo
āThanks Aura.ā The briefest of smiles flashed across Viggoās face as he personally served her order. The lunch rush was in full swing, but the kitchen could spare a minute or two for him to say hello. āItās nice to see youāre up and about again. You doing okay?ā He asks this all in a surprisingly solicitous voice. Auralie had strangely been one of the first people he got to know on the island, hard not to miss a girl literally made out of sunshine. Strangely enough, Viggo hadnāt shied away from the friendship.
āIām doing okay,ā she nodded, smiling as she spoke in a soft voice. Bao Bao was waiting for her at home, but sheād wanted to take herself out for brunch that weekend and perhaps do a little shopping. Her blonde curls had been pulled back in braids, the warmth of her skin radiating with sunshine as the light peeks through the windows.Ā āI feel like I havenāt seen you in the longest time,ā she continued, puppy eyes looking up at him,Ā āAre you working too much again, Viggo? Itās not good for you if you donāt go out to have fun.ā
Auralie was the type of girl that you couldnāt help but smile back to. There was always a sense of calmness about her, and Viggo always found himself trying to reassure her. āAhh, itās nothing. Noona always gets its fair share of customers, and Iāve got my hands full since my promotion.ā He shrugs as if making head chef at the exclusive restaurant wasnāt such a big deal. He had had promotions before, but those were always tied to a liquidation list. Becoming head chef was something he was immensely proud of, but he wasnāt about to brag about it.
āIām having fun,ā He says with a sheepish shrug, pushing back the fringe that had fallen across his vision. āBeing in the kitchen is fun,ā He assures her, the briefest of smiles flashing across his face.
āWhat about you? How have you been holding up? Thereās a lavender panna cotta on the dessert menu today; I think youāll like that.ā
āRight!ā Aura responded, hands clasped together and an extra sparkle in her eyes when he mentioned his promotion. Viggo had told her in the past and she had already congratulated him, but still felt that he deserved a bit more of a celebration. After all, being promoted to head chef was a really big deal, especially at such a nice restaurant.Ā
āIām sure it is,ā she smiled, looking up at him with a slight tilt of his head,Ā āBut you still have to let me celebrate with you for the promotion. When you have a day off next, Iāll make us dinner! It wonāt be as good as yours, but itās to congratulate you properly.ā
There was a slight stiffness in her smile when heād asked how she was holding up. It had been so, so long since she had broken up with Woozi, and Aura knew that she should have been over it by now - everyone told her so. However, it was hard to just get over her first love.Ā āIām doing well - Iām a groomer at Stop nā Paws now so I spend my days with all of the cute animals,ā she responded, avoiding the topic of her ex-boyfriend, āPannacotta it is, then! I trust your recommendation.ā
