Relationships Chart, with all of the relevant-to-the-story Inners. Just a little filler, while I'm trying to finish everything ERB-related...
All of the arrows that are drawn here, will also be in plain text, under the Read More; though, you are expected to look closely at the images first, because there are some hidden easter eggs in there, that I want you to find yourselves.
Any Inner that isn't here, is either not really relevant to my interpretation of the story, or they are a complete spoiler. If an Inner's color is black, that means you haven't seen their design yet, and that it's a bit of a spoiler.
Have fun. :).

Ah, hello, Koipi!... YOU DREW ART FOR ME TOO? AAAAAAAAA-
And it's my boy Wrath!!! :DDD
It's really nice, to see you post art again; I've missed it a lot, since the time I stopped answering asks. It's also nice, to see you engage with the fandom again. And you've grown so much... You've got a whole new blog and everything... Even one for writing/thoughts! I remember the time, when you used to only post on your personal blog, or send me asks with your art... and I still have them in my inbox. Would you be comfortable, with me making them public again, or answering some of them? No worries if not, though!
Regarding the tags; yes! I've received the message, and I've read it. I didn't answer it because, well... I felt a bit like a #creepy #creeper (/ref), since our last interaction. It feels wrong for me, to interact with you, after a specific thing I've said; even though it's probably nothing bad or wrong, I still don't like the fact, that I said it at all. But, hey, if you're still willing to interact with me, it probably means everything is alright, right? :)
But, onto the art...
It's him!! My boy Wrath, in his glory! Ah, he's standing there so smugly... And holding his favorite sword!
He is smiling :). Something gave me the impression, that he is this happy because of his beloved sword.. Not sure, if this, is what it is meant to be, but it's accurate to my interpretation of him; which is nice. Though, I could also see him being happy, because he has just defeated somebody... Either way, he is feeling good, and that's all that matters. :)
Armor looks great on him... I've seen Kromer a few times! I don't really know much about Limbus, but I've heard of it, and of its characters. :). I can see the similarities between them: straight hair that is swept to one side, both are kind of sadistic and high-horse-y... They are alike, aren't they?
Your art reminded me, that Wrath and the other SInners are supposed to have armor, just like Greed does... I kind of forgot about it. So, thank you for reminding me! :). Maybe I'll take some inspiration, from your armor design here... You don't mind, right? I think that knight-ey armor would fit him well. Could also come up with some symbolism for it...
I see, that you drew the sword bigger, than I draw it... Which looks better, to me! Swords are supposed to be big and practical, after all; not much you can do with a tiny sword. And, hey, you gave it an accurate handle and everything! That's way more effort, than I put into my drawings of his sword... This is flattering. :)
I can see the muscles on him! That's accurate! He's supposed to be muscular by default, but I kind of forgot to display that... So thanks for doing it for me, heheh.
Overall, I really like this! This is going on the Fanart Wall banner, too, when I finally remake it... Thank you for drawing my character! It means a lot to me <3 ...
Concocted something absolutely vile, while taking a break from drawing ERB/a secret animatic. Bestows the horrors upon you <3 This will be TWA in 2027 (2017) <3
Would anybody here like to see an old headcanon of mine, and see some old meme failart? Grins. You have no choice. You will see it.
So, you know how in the episode "Rivals", there is a moment in the video, where it shows a page of design notes, for Inner Critic? I've seen people interpret it differently: from it being a subtle guide, from JPB, on how to create a rival; to the in-universe explanation of Critic writing these notes himself, to pettily point out the differences, between himself and Ego. But I haven't seen anybody interpret it like I did; which is…
… that Ego created Critic. :)
Think about it this way: who writes these kinds of notes? Who would write these kinds of notes?
Are these supposed to be for the viewer? But why? The viewer can clearly tell, that Ego and Critic are rivals; the symbolism is right on the nose. Their designs are cartoonishly rival-y. With all the black-and-white, serious-and-silly opposites, it's really easy to tell. The viewer doesn't need that kind of guidance. The whole video is about rivals.
Are these supposed to be of Critic's doing? But why? I'm sure, that he has much more important things to write about; and him being petty is more of a fanon thing, than canon. Sure, he is arrogant, self-important, but not really… obsessive? is that the right word? He's not the type of person to go after Ego in that way. Most of the time, he goes after Ego by insulting him and his intelligence, not explaining why he's the better one. Critic can start explaining why he's better, but it has a subtle reason; when he does that, the comparison is there to hammer in the fact, that everything Ego does is terrible. It's not a comparison, the main point of which, is to say how great Critic is; instead, it's a comparison, the main point of which, is to say how bad Ego is. Critic pointing out how great he himself is, is only secondary to hating on Ego. He's the Inner Critic after all, his main goal is to make Ego feel bad first and foremost; pointing out the differences just helps it sting more. This explanation is kind of all over the place, but I'm sure you can understand, what I'm trying to say. Critic isn't really the type of person to do this. I don't see it that way.
Now, who does write design notes? Who would write design notes? Creators. Artists, Writers, you name it; all of these people, need to know basic stuff about the appearance/personality of the character, that they are creating… And, who else is the most known creator of stuff in the TWAEU?… No one other than Ego! Thus, he could be the creator of Inner Critic… for some unknown purpose and reason.
However, that assumption has a fallacy. I know, and I see it; we never get the confirmation or hint, that Ego could be the creator. You're right! You caught me. That's why it's just my personal headcanon, after all. :)
So, going from this, here's a new idea for the fandom: what if Critic was a construct? Something created, to battle against Ego? Or maybe another purpose entirely? Maybe not by a single person, not somebody specific; maybe it was multiple people? Inners? The Whole JP, before The Split? So many choices… And I know mine. :)
And now, onto the failart!… This old thing… You can see why I call it failart. This was from late August of last year. The transitional period of my art style, from the old one, to the new-ish one; you can see that I was trying to experiment, with outlining more physical features. This is also unfinished… It probably would've looked better, if I finished it. But I have a no-changing-old-art rule, and I didn't have the energy to draw the rest of it, at that time. It's so ugly and awkward… I miss my old art.
And if there is one failart, there must be another… It is the law! Here's a very low-effort redraw of a meme. I thought it fit here. It's low-effort, because I would rather not burn myself out any further with TWA art. Sorry.

AWWWW, LINT... FANART FOR ME? AGAIN?... THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
You drew them so cool! :) You got Ego's personality across very well, he looks exactly like the little devil he is supposed to be... Such a sadistic smile on his face, he's definitely enjoying this... His antennae look so flowy! And he's got a heart-shaped highlight on his hair! That is sooo cuteeee... Grisping Critic's tail with both of his hands... Pulling and tugging on it... What a playful, sadistic thing.
Critic is definitely not enjoying this... He looks soooo done. His hair is so spiky! Way spikier, than I draw it... Maybe I should take some inspiration. You also gave Critic longer hair strands, at the back of his head, that looks really cool... They're so flowy, too... His tail-thingies look accurate and tendril-y, good job! And he's slouched! So tired, so exhausted, so done... Pats his head. Hang in there, buddy.
The slightly bluish tint on their hair/body looks fantastic... More canon/darker skin tone works better in your art style, than it does in mine; I'm jealous! /lighthearted. You even drew them with different hair highlight patterns! And you drew that hair-thing I draw for them; right where their bangs start, underneath the hair, ah... You paid so much attention to the details in my designs, I am so flattered...
Ego would totally do this to Critic... I'm definitely adding this to my interpretation of the story. Heheh.
The text in the comparing-tail-sizes sketch sounds like an innuendo?... That's not what I intended it to be at all, but I guess it's funny, that it turned out this way. I'm kind of oblivious to most things, that imply innuendos and the like, and I'm guessing that crept into this sketch as well; but hey, it makes for humorous moments like this, so I am not complaining. That sketch, will make more sense after the Inners' Biology guide... Yeah. That again.
Basic Info:
Name: Inner Critic.
Species: Inner.
Position: Universe Upkeep and Pruning.
Main Color: Blue.
Age: 1,000,000+
Height: 6'5 ft+ | 200+ cm
Weight: 225+ lbs | 100+ kg
They call him Critic.
As one, his duties consist of watching the Universe's lore and functionality. If need be, fixing various glitches and spills. He is the only one who's fit; or so he believes.
He doesn't visit much. Always in his private quarters, always a busy critic. Pouring over every little detail in the script, he has no time for having fun with other Inners, much less the mortals. To him, "fun", is just a waste of time.
After hundreds of years of meticulous judging, his eyes are trained to notice the slightest incongruence. Be it media, or real life, he knows what's wrong, and where exactly. They say, the rings in his eyes are not unlike scopes. A telescopic sight for all mistakes.
Fixing those mistakes is effortless. His pen does all the work. It is a simple, office-looking pen. He changed it not. Not even since his birth.
Thinking how to fix them, is not. It would be easier if he thought before doing. Another mistake. Right there. Can you be any less attentive?
His glasses are an enigma. Seeing through them is impossible; looking through the lenses, it is a pure, white light. Yet, that light is all he sees without.
His body is different from others', but he cares not. What is that on his face? Why do you care?
Saw a picture on the interwebs, and knew I had to add Critic there. Used old designs for Critic, because I want to reveal the new ones in a more gracious way. Oh woe.

A reminder about the absolutely unspoken, foolishly discreet, definitely devious and downright dastardly rules of my blog; I figured it would be useful to mention them, as I am sure, that not everybody knows what happened way back, in early summer of last year. There are new people in the Fandom, who will obviously not be aware.
The rules themselves: I don't tolerate any discussions, or headcanons about the Inners' sexuality and gender, and I don't tolerate any simping for them either.
Since TWA JP is based on a real person, who has feelings and thoughts of his own, I feel that it is immoral to do those things without JPB's consent. Another, more unconvincing (for the general public) reason, is that I believe fictional characters are real in some way, that they have feelings; and I don't want to hurt them with these discussions.
IMPORTANT DISTINCTION!!!!! READ THIS!!!!!!!!: This rule applies only to MY!!!!!!!!!!!! MINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I AM'S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! blog. Do whatever you want on yours, I sincerely don't care, I won't police you there; I just won't look at that type of content, or like/reblog it. And since people take inspiration from my designs/ideas sometimes; I also don't want my ideas to be used along with any headcanons/discussions like that. I don't feel comfortable with that.
Thank you for reading and respecting these rules. Remember, Mourning loves You.
So, old headcanons, huh... I'll include some art to go along with them. All of the art shown here, was either from before the time I started posting originally, or right at that time; which is late September of 2024. This doesn't include Monster!Critic and Ego&Critic headcanons, that are described later in the post. Those were made in late October. I wanted to include them anyways, though.
These headcanons are the only ones which I remember. I'm sure I had way more, but due to my poor memory, I forgot most of them. I don't write down my ideas usually, because half of my thoughts can't be described by words; I think in vibes, and vibes require visuals to be shown in full glory, and to be understood. Art takes time for me, a lot of it. I also don't want to revisit too much of that time of my life, due to... ...reasons.
Where do I even start? I guess I should start with the Inners as a whole.
------------------------------------------
My initial ideas for them, were more esoteric and out-there, than what I have shown early on in my art. They were supposed to be these... How do I explain? Primordial human-esque beings, which created the TWAEU world, and watched over it? It is all based on Greed's origin-of-the-TWAEU-World-exposition-speech in "Shipping".
To emphasize the "primordial" and "creator" aspects of their design, their bodies were meant to be wireframed, in a way. A parallel to them being "blueprints" for all TWA humans/characters, I think. Here is a part of an old drawing, which shows that wireframing. I had the idea of making those lines blue, to give them a more "sci-fi" vibe, and to give a reference to those lines on paper you see often. This drawing also shows another part of my earlier Inner designs: the weird, smokey white part, that connects the segments of their bodies together. It was meant to be their "essence"/"soul". I think I also contemplated making it a bit rainbow-y, at the ends. Oh, hey! This is somewhat similar to Osman's and Lint's ideas! Just the littlest bit. Ah, I should really finish that Inners' Biology infosheet already...
Inners were supposed to be very tall. I think, at first, I made their height about 12 ft, then upped it to 30 ft, then felt bad about that, changed it to 8 ft, and then settled on making them just 5'5-6 ft, depending on my mood, and depending on the Inner. I struggled between choosing whether non-Inner characters were small, in the case of 6-12 ft tall Inners; or if they were the size of normal humans, in the case of 30 ft tall Inners. Whatever their height and size was, it was crucial that non-Inner characters were the size of a page in Ego's book. Because...
Because! That leads us to another headcanon, where Ego is the creator of every non-Inner character in the universe. And he just keeps creating more... Critic isn't happy about it! Ego's powers would work this way: he either draws, or writes, a description and the backstory of a character, puts his hand onto it, and pulls the character out of the book, sometimes tearing the page out along with them. Interesting premise... Maybe I'll use it again someday? Here is an old drawing, which shows the segmented limbs, smokey essence, and the size comparison between Inner and non-Inner characters. I'm not able to remember, if he is 30 ft tall, or 6 ft tall in this one... Probably the former.
Here are also two drawings of Greed, showcasing the size difference between different Inners. There is an earlier version of the first drawing, hidden in layers, that states Greed's height as 10 ft tall. In the second drawing, Greed is probably 15 ft tall... I guess you could say, that he is... Gree-sping Critic?..................... I'm not built for this.
By the time I started posting, I removed wireframing, essences, and kind of nerfed their height in most drawings; all because those quirks were "too weird". The concern about coming off as too weird, was the cause for me softening, and "generic"-izing my later art. However, as you know, I kept insisting on some of the weird aspects, which has a reason... ...which will be explained some day, not today. Because that, is not in the scope of this post.
------------------------------------------
Unrelated to everything, but take a look at this old drawing of Critic, hugging a plushie of Ego. He is so damn cute. I love him. I think it was for a Children!Inners AU... I didn't draw anything else for it, though. :(
------------------------------------------
Hey, want to know the reason for me making Ego scary in the first place? You have no choice, I'm going to tell you!
You see, when I just began watching TWA... My first exposure to it, was the "Writing Cults" episode. In that episode, Ego is hooded and cloaked 90% of the screen time. When I just began watching it, I was kind of charmed by him... What a cute cult leader! But then, I saw him without the cloak. And oh God, when I did............ somehow, he kind of scared me, a little bit? I was only scared of his Awesome/Epic Face expression, though. His eyes are just... blank and big. His mouth is... too wide. I think it has to do with the fact, that the Epic Face is usually portrayed with yellow skin; so when you put it onto the face of a white guy... It looks unnatural. It didn't really scare or terrify me, but it made me just the slightest bit uneasy. I quickly got over it though. It's charming now.
Based on that, the literal first drawings of him I did, were ones where he is staring right at the viewer, with his neck craned at a weird angle, and his jaw is fully unhinged. I am not showing those, because they completely fucking suck, but I'm sure you can imagine what they looked like. I was fascinated with him, to say the least. My attitude about him was, "What a creepy little thing. I need to draw him more, study him under my microscope of my own art, even." Huh, maybe I should add the unhingable jaw back into my headcanons for Ego... I'm sure it can be scary, if I draw it right... But then, people may think I'm ~FREAKY~ for drawing that... Eh. Who cares. Everyone thinks I'm freaky already. I kind of cemented it, with the whole giant Ego thing, a long time ago.
So yeah, I'm basically reviving my old ideas, and using them for new art. You can see it with the wireframing, and the creepy Ego ideas. :)
------------------------------------------
I guess I could talk about Monster!Critic as well... In my earlier interpretation of TWA, and power-scaling of the Inners, Monster!Critic was actually quite strong. Ego was afraid of him, just like in the episode, where M!Critic shows up. Nowadays, though? Ego could snap M!Critic in half like a toothpick. He doesn't care, or only pretends to care.
My earlier drafts of M!Critic included him being somewhat sympathetic to Ego, when the latter was really, honestly suffering. Here is a drawing expressing that. Though, maybe it is also a bit of a condescending sympathy... I don't really remember. I think that petting someone condescendingly, while they are already feeling down, is very mind-fucky. Potential for angst, maybe?... Man. I really was drawing Whatever in Whatever way possible back them. Hands don't work like that babe <3
Koipi asked me for my headcanons about Monster!Critic once... I'm not a headcanon type-of-guy. Still trying to keep my interpretations at least 70% canon. So I really didn't know, what I would be able to reply with, and still don't. But here is a singular headcanon from that time. I don't use it now. From a note I made.
"- I guess he would use his monster form almost daily?... Maybe to complete certain tasks, maybe to jumpscare JP in some way, or maybe just for fun. Besides, I think having more than two eyes would be helpful."
------------------------------------------
Koipi also asked me about Ego/Critic headcanons once... Um. I wasn't looking forwards to shipping them, but I did draft out two headcanons for it. Read them as platonic headcanons. Strictly platonic. From a note I made.
"— For some reason, I feel like Ego would often write something for IC to read, specifically about Critic himself. Maybe a drabble about Critic ending up in a kingdom and becoming the ruler, maybe a short poem about him traveling to another planet and meeting some cool aliens, maybe a long story about him going back in time to save dinosaurs... And then, true to his nature, Critic would critique the hell out of it. Ungrateful.
— I think it'd be in character for them to banter and fight just for fun. Not physically...well, most of the time... but verbally!"
------------------------------------------
A really old drawing of Ego with a tail... I was really surprised to see this one. I guess my Inners-with-tails ideas date way more far back, than I remembered. I think I can remember wanting to give Greed and Critic tails too?... Specifically in the Inners Size Comparison one. But I repressed that, because it was "too weird". Lol. Here, he has a generic smooth tail, nothing interesting. It would be the color of his hair, if I colored it, I remember that.
------------------------------------------
Here are drawings that are unrelated to anything else in this post. Enjoy.
A drawing of Cult!Ego coaxing Mary Sue into joining the cult. I think it's cute. What's up with that pendant, though... I guess it's the cult of the Triangle Love instead? Heh.
And this was, uh... Some kind of AU, I guess? Weird taur-things with so many arms... No idea what they're supposed to be, but I'm going to take a guess, and assume, that these are "true" Inner forms? Full-on "God" forms? Oh, they have some fluff on their bodies, that's cute... Based on the second drawing, where Ego's eyes and ears are shut, yet Critic's are open, I'm thinking that this is meant to reference the Three Wise Monkeys? But... fucked-up and evil, for some reason. I have no idea what this AU was about, but I do remember, that Critic's injuries and shackled/bonded arms, are a result of Ego's doing. One of the tails connected to the leg is cool; I'll need to use that concept again someday... What else can I say about these guys... Nothing. Gives them belly scritches
If you are sensitive to any horror imagery, here is a list of tags you’ll have to block/filter, if you don’t want to see it:
#cw body horror ; #cw light facial horror ; #cw extreme facial horror ; #cw scopophobia ; #cw emetophobia ; #cw many eyes ; #cw disturbing imagery (general tag, will be used for all horror art) ;
There are also these tags:
#oolong don’t look ; for any facial horror, if somehow the facial horror tag fails, or I miss it;
#osman don’t look ; for eye horror. I don’t plan on doing it, but it’s better to be safe than sorry.
I guess, I also should say that I won’t be doing any gore art of TWA characters themselves, except for a single implied gore scene, which I may or may not draw in the future. I feel like drawing gore of TWA characters without permission is very morally wrong, so I won’t be doing it. I also don’t think anybody wants to see their favorite characters being torn apart. I sure as hell don’t want to see that, or draw that.
I will use these tags very freely; anything that can be considered even somewhat horror-ey, will be tagged with them.
Light facial horror would include only some disturbing elements, e.g: realistic eyes, or too-wide smiles, or anything else of that sort. Extreme facial horror would include more severe twisting, e.g: more-than-two eyes on the face, teeth in unusual places, elongated faces, split jaws, or else anything of that sort.
Eye horror would include eye-gouging, melting eyes, pierced eyes and the like. I do not consider more-than-two eyes to be eye horror. I also am not planning to draw any of the aforementioned things.
If want me to add more tags for filtering, then please ask so!

TWA animal associations. Most of these are really old; either half-a-year old, or a full year old. Inners have a more complete list, than other characters.
————————————————————————
Main Inners:
Inner Ego — Theropods and carnivorous dinosaurs, snakes, reptiles and Moray Eel.
Inner Critic — Greater Prairie Chicken, Goblin Shark, Chimaera (fish) and moles.
Inner Creativity — Any colorful and fancy bird, particularly: Crysolophus pheasants, Great Argus, Blood Pheasant, Temminck's Tragopan, birds-of-paradise; also feathered serpents.
Inner Greed — Manticore-like western dragon.
Inner Integrity — Gryphon.
————————————————————————
JC - Leucistic Red Panda. :3
————————————————————————
The Villains:
Cthulhu Cult Leader — Well. Octopuses and squids are an obvious choice.
Chainsaw General — Sawshark.
Megacorp CEO — Grey wolf.
Evil Baron — Red fox, maned wolf.
————————————————————————
Seven Deadly SInners, and their main colors. I came up with this all the way back in July, but haven't shown any of them yet. Subject to change, as I want to come up with mythical creatures for each one of them, but I haven't been able to find fitting ones.
Inner Wrath — Phoenix, red.
Inner Pride — Lion, orange.
Inner Gluttony — Praying Mantis, yellow. Maybe I could add fly symbolism?...
Inner Greed — See above. Green.
Inner Envy — Snake, Medusa-inspired, cyan/teal. Probably an Emerald Tree Boa?…
Inner Sloth — Also meant to be a dragon, a star-and-moon-themed one… But we already have a dragon (Greed)… bluish-purple.
Inner Lust — Butterfly, moth, pink. Looks almost exactly like The Love Triangle man from the "Power Fantasy" episode.
Inner Despair — … Um? How did this one get here?… Anyways, white.
So, before I upload the next drawing in, hopefully, a few days... I need to know and ask a few things.
How many of you, would be okay with me uploading more "horror"-esque drawings? Or any disturbing imagery at all?
While they are not scary to me, as I am desensitized to everything horror at this point, I could see how some of my ideas might unsettle people. I want to be considerate and sensitive to opinions of people around me, and I don't want to unintentionally harm them, or bum them out with my art.
If you're able to, could you tell me what threshold there should be for these drawings? How "horror" can it get, before you begin to get genuinely uncomfortable? What should be off-limits, and what not?
I was planning to go all-out with disturbing imagery in the future, and also upload the drawing with only content warnings, but it felt inconsiderate and rude of me to do. So now, I am asking you.
Thank you for listening, and considering answering me.
