ep1 was first of all boring as fuck bc i was already sick of seeing lestat from the oversaturation of him in the promo and most of the ep was shown in the trailers and teasers. to me he's a somewhat compelling character only in the context of lesmand and as a plot device in louis' and claudia's stories lmfao

adapting gabrielle as a gender-conforming cis woman is so ass. just erasing the most interesting aspect of the character and for what. it doesn't even seem like they are trying to avoid transphobic optics while making the incest more explicit than in the source material what with the dogshit misgendering "jokes" in this ep

and apparently they are taking a page out of the talamasca show's book in only showing kisses between women when there's a man to ogle them 🫩 making more misogynistic writing choices on top of annonce ricist's bullshit should be really fucking embarrassing but the writers don't let that deter them

also the wig they put jennifer ehle in still pisses me off so bad. if they hit the jackpot of casting sheila atim as akasha only to put her in a bad wig too.............. i'll jump off that bridge when i get to it

the aftershow's production value is also abysmal like amc is releasing lower quality stuff than indie youtube podcasters
