Out of curiosity, is there a reason why the industry standard is still Word? Or is it just an archaic leftover type of situation? For the other anon - pretty much all word processors have a way of exporting to docx these days, which is super convenient. I'm stubborn and I use Obsidian, then paste into Scrivener for compiling, THEN export to docx. Scrivener even has a way to export tracked changes as a docx so they show up in Word as well!

Is formatting preserved among all those different apps? I've tried copy/pasting from Google Docs to Word and vice versa, along with other apps like ProWritingAid, as well as saving a Google Doc as a Word Document or saving either in whatever format it is that LibreOffice prefers. I almost always see paragraphs losing indentations and line spacing getting jacked up in the transfer from one app to another. I also frequently see bold/italicization disappearing, fonts changing or switching to a different size, even when both programs have the same font, headers and footers disappearing, and other random shit that would be absolutely agonizing to fix manually.
