+ Oh, yeah, he spoke too fast again. A horrible habit of hi, something he didn't intend to do for the most part. For this, he didn't mean to go that fast. But anxiety did weird things to him, like making him scratch harshly at his legs through his torn jeans. + Nick took a deep breath, looking at its messy floor. Nothing it ever did could keep the place clean, but it was an organized madness kind of messy. It could clean, true, but the room would just get messy again. Something about the mess calmed it just to not scratch as harshly. ~ "I have feelings for you, Karl.. I don't really know for how long, but I think from the first day we met. You've always been so sweet, full of energy, happy. And that makes me feel safe.. I get if you don't feel the same, όμορφο κουνελάκι, just let me know and I won't bring it up again. I just.. I wanted to say something before I couldn't anymore.."

Confrontation. The only thing he hated the most. He always avoided it. He would rather take the blame and bear the consequences than face the person he wronged. But in the end, he knew it was inevitable and he would eventually have to face up to whatever situation happened to him.

After hearing those bitter-sweet words uttered by the other, he could feel his heart sink and his emotions run wild. Karl knew things would never be the same between them, and wondered how he could have avoided this moment. After accepting the truth and realizing he couldn't escape his issues forever, he gently let the other down. "Oh, Sapnap, I-"

Karl paused immediately, feeling guilt kick in. He looked away, unable to face the truth. He could feel the other person's disappointment and pain. He took a deep breath and tried to find the right words. He had to continue for his own sake. 

+ Finally, it was out there. The crushing weight that had been suffocating him was lifted, setting him free and calm and finally the tension in his body was able to dissipate to nothing. After so long, he could breathe, knowing that those words wouldn't be strangling him anymore.

+ For just a moment, everything was good. Everything was fine. Happy. Peaceful. Calm. But the worry in Karl's voice made him feel that weight all over again. He knew what was coming with that tone. He'd seen it many times before, with other people he knew.

+ It could only stare back at Karl as the man spoke. Its world started to crumble as glazed eyes went back to the messy floor. Karl lied..? This whole time he wasn't the sweet, bubbly, kind man Nick had come to adore? That hurt him deeper than any blade or insult ever had.

+ Without a work, Nick stood, grabbing Karl's hand and ushering him to the door. A blank look, one that he hadn't worn in a couple years, sat on his face as he stared at Karl. Someone he had been infatuated with.

~ "I thought I had a chance for once. Maybe I only ever saw one part of you and ignored another. If that's it, then I'm sorry. I hope you can find someone that you can trust completely."

~ It was a long day. Very long. His major had given him a new major project, one due in a week, while his minor had also given a big project. Not as big as his major, but still annoying. So, without thinking, he opened his phone and texted Karl.

~ Why Karl? Well, George was on a bit of a vacation, one that left Nick on his own without his closest friend. So Karl, his fucking crush of all people, was who he went to. With quick messages, he invited the energetic man to his dorm.

The day was just getting started. At least for Karl. He was usually pretty busy with the number of classes he took. But today was one of those slump days. Those days when he didn’t want to do anything and just lay in his bed all day. These days were normally few and very far between but with the shit going on socially, it was every other week.  He skipped all his classes, and he skipped the amount of homework he had left to do later. 

But what he wanted was a break from it all, and Sapnap gave him that.

Making the excuse of needing to get some steps in, was a clever little white lie he made to hide the truth. He didn't want to seem like a person who sat around all day, he was supposed to be an outgoing and energetic guy. But today was just not it. Forcing himself out of bed, he threw out a quick but Karl-Coded™ outfit and walked out. 

After climbing the mountain Everest-like stairs, he nervously arrived at Nick’s dorm, his heart pounding in his chest. Why was he so nervous? He was never usually this nervous when it came to Sapnap. Maybe, it was the dreaded message, 'I wanna talk to you about something.' That usually never meant something good. What if it wants to stop talking to him??? Or call him an absolute freak??? Okay, now he was just overreacting but who can blame him? With all the stuff going on, he didn’t want the same to happen to him. Or at least, be surprised when it eventually happens.

He takes note of Sapnap's residence and is completely smitten with its style. Sap was almost never scared of his style and of his manner, to express himself. Leaving Karl always in awe of it’s ‘don’t care’ attitude on expressing himself. Something he and Karl shared.

“I’m coming, I’m coming, Sappy,” he responded giddily, a slight cherry pink forming in his cheeks. The brunette never really knew the meaning of Sapnap’s greek nicknames for him. For all he knew, it could be calling him a bad word, and Karl wouldn't know. But he trusted Nick, he didn't bother translating it. And plus, whatever he was saying, it was cute. (Correction: Hot)

~ His room was a mess. Paper scattered on his desk with the computer, clothes around the hamper that never got in, a couple cups on his nightstand. The walls had an assortment of band posters and some pictures of friends and places. Nothing seemed placed in an organized way, but Nick liked how it was.

~ Of course, when Karl sat next to him, his cheeks went red. If that was possible, considering that they already were. His hair almost covered his eyes, barely pushed away by his signature white bandana. God, he could just stare at Karl for hours and never get bored.

~ It took a deep breath, leaning against Karl. Nick kept his gaze away, fidgeting with one of its many many bracelets. It cleared its throat, figuring to get everything out in a flood.

In the jumble of words spewed out, he only understood the last part. ‘If you feel the same,’ what a combination of a 5 five-word sentence. Meaning many little things, or nothing at all. He took a deep breath as he closed his eyes, preparing to speak. “Relax Nick, I can barely understand any of that.”

Trying to calm down the noir, he put his arms on the other in reassurance. He can't help but feel a sense of warmth and security when Nick's arms are around him. It was especially more comforting, unlike any other people he had given others. Karl wrapped one arm around Sapnap's neck and pat it's head with the other.

Karl giggled and comforted, “Okay now tell me, but slower, please.”
