Two of my moth cats, I’m so excited to have finally figured out an art style I want to dedicated to this species. It was holding me back for a long time since I just couldn’t get cats down the way I wanted. But with the Mundi Felidae’s help I think I got to exactly where I want! <3

When I was about… 13-14 years old I first discovered Deviantart. I think I literally was just getting into highschool at the time. There was this artist who like made these adorable corgi/pony characters and I was so enamoured with them I wanted to make fanart and a fan character just like them.

They saw my crappy ass traditional media drawing that replicated their style and character themes and sent all of their friends/followers to attack me for “copying” them. My front page’s comments were full of angry threats and “go kill yourself” like comments. I was a little kid. I spent months sobbing over that. I almost quit art back then. I still think about that and it STILL strikes fear into my heart when I think about it.

Please be kind to young or new developing artists. Not everyone immediately knows the boundaries. Please please please message them privately if you have a problem with them and just politely let them know it hurts you to be copied. Do not just launch a full public attack on some poor unsuspecting kid or new artist.

Just…. please, be patient. Show kindness. We were all young and naive once. Not everyone is out to cause harm. Please give them the benefit of the doubt.

I just can’t stand bullying or harassment…. Even in times when it’s “deserving” it’s just hard to see for me…
