God I miss drawing Amulet

Hmm she has not, thankfully. She has killed people w its fire though, and bc it's infused w her magic, the fire can't go out unless dispelled by magic or its fuel is gone (so like if she's set a person on fire, the fire will keep going until there's nothing left to burn).

I'm actually not sure bc it can go a lot of ways just as long as EMily is responsible and is remorseful for it, but in my initial idea:

Emily in her Firebird form - Trellis was able to disrupt a part of the fire, around the head, revealing Emily unconscious. Navin tried reaching in to pull her out, but her magic reacted instinctively perceiving it as a threat, which Trellis caught and snagged Navin away from her; sparing Navin from being obliterated, except for his right arm, which entirely disintegrated.

In the spirit of brevity:

Book 1: Cliche central, but effective in hooking you in. First read it at 12 years old and was pissed at Emily sparing that ugly long eared nasty guy bc I'm 100% sure that's gonna bite her in the ass and also he sucked bc he was a wuss. Looking back on it, that's hilarious in hindsight.

Book 2: Best book in the series. 3 balanced narratives that affect each other with an effective and intimidating villain + worthwhile theme. No notes

Book 3: Hated the Luger retcon. It has things happening but it's very much an "in-between" book

Book 4: Heart-pounding book bc of the mysteries involved, def one of the more exciting parts. Max can be seen a mile away but the betrayal is still a bit of surprise.

Book 5: near unmatched by sheer emotional catharsis, it's a damn good book for tugging at heartstrings but suffers main plot-wise and Emily is barely a character there.

Book 6: The Stonekeepers' parts were nonsensical in terms of plot but surprisingly epic. Navin's parts were exciting but highlight was def Riva.

Book 7: Has too many issues, Navin's parts were aaaaaasssss, and fuck them aliens but the memory sequence despite the plot problems was this book's saving grace and boys is it.

Book 8: Had a breakdown at school when I learned the spoilers. It was that bad.

Unfortunately, due to busy nature of real life, a couple of participants have backed out. In addition, I don't think I'll be able to draw two illustrations as I'm trying to manage both my hand health + I'm booked for the month with work.
