the results yielded are far better than he could've anticipated. of course, he attempts not to judge others, but he's aware his current state is subpar, even for qui-gon's own standards. the master couldn't have possibly blamed the other if she refused to help him.

" it's a relief to hear it - the layout of this place is rather unusual. " now that he's being dragged along through the various halls, he spares the stores they pass a look, realises none of them sell the clothes he's quite used to. he has a feeling their fashion senses - his, and the girl's - aren't quite a match either.

" do not mistake my question for ungratefulness, my friend, " he lowers his shoulders, pulled down by the hold she has on his hand. " though i do not believe our taste in clothing is alike in much. "

"DON'T YOU WORRY!" SHE SAYS , WAVING A hand dismissively. "If you really want robes then we can go looking for them. I won't force you into something you don't want to wear." Comfort equals confidence , after all. Besides , he looks good in those robes (even if they are crusty and tarnished by a hole of unknown origin) , so she can only imagine what he'd look like in some nice ones.

[ OWK ] -> Akin to sparring with a blade. Mostly the intent is combat or ceremony, but we do have tournaments on occasion.

[ OWK ] -> So I suppose at times it wouldn't appear so far removed from a sport. I'm not an athlete, exactly, but our training involves athletics quite heavily.

[ OWK ] -> The robes of our Order aren't remarkably colorful as a general rule. I'm not sure I've ever seen him dress in anything but beige. Brown. White

The woman sitting in the same train car as Obi-Wan is pink from head to toe. Having grown up in a temple of white and beige, it takes him deliberate effort not to continuously glance her way.

He remembers when he was younger, he would step onto transports with the express goal of making at least one new friend, seating himself beside strangers and talking their ear off for hours if allowed. He's learned since then the value of silence - and that some transports warrant more caution than others. Stuck in an unfamiliar place, without a weapon or even the Force, he wonders if this is one such instance. As such, his riding buddy receives only a reserved duck of the chin when the Jedi enters the train and takes a seat.

No one else fills in the car before the train starts rolling along, and perhaps it's just as well: they don't get far at all before the brakes squeal and the entire locomotive wheezes to a halt. Obi-Wan looks out the window beside him, but sees no station here or on the horizon. The window opposite holds the same view, sand dunes and blazing sun and little else. He peers up the aisle towards the front of the train, brow furrowed, before glancing to his companion several seats down.

WHEN HE ENTERS , SHE GIVES HIM A WIDE , ENTHUSIASTIC SMILE. He only gives her a nod in return , which is fine. She knows when someone doesn't want to talk - that's fine. She can read the room. Even if the room is just the two of them. Usually train cars are a bit more full than this , filled with the quiet murmur of people making small talk. But this time it was silent , uncomfortably so , and it took all of her effort not to start yapping his ear off. (That's not a very good first impression to make , even if he looks like he could use a friend).

IT HADN'T EVEN BEEN FIVE MINUTES before the train came to a stop , with Harmony's face scrunching into a look of pure frustration. This is why she drives. And she would be driving if she had a car. But unfortunately for her , her car collection is sitting back in Iowa probably collecting dust , leaving her to realize very quickly that she doesn't have the patience for public transportation.

his intentions lay initially on mere peoplewatching, though upon the discovery of a shopping center, he decides to investigate. what goods could a place like encoy offer, he wonders?

it's nothing alike the mall in coruscant, linear and direct. this one has a variety of stores, some selling items he can't quite recognise, and more corners and halls than he expected. were he to use the force, he could've easily detected someone knowledgeable in its floorplan. as circumstances lend themselves, he turns to a young woman beside him, one he hopes will aid him.

" excuse me, " he says. " you wouldn't be able to point me in the direction of the garments shop? "

there is a hole at the middle of his torso that has buried through all layers of fabric, burnt at the edges. " i'm in dire need of a new robe. "

IT'S NOT OFTEN SHE THOUGHT ABOUT IT , the days of living in Iowa far behind her , and her days in California farther yet. But on the days that she did (this being one of them) , she used ENCOY's shops as a distraction , perusing the various stores over and over again. She practically has them all memorized by now. She's snapped out of her daydream by an unfamiliar voice , turning away from the display window she was looking at towards its source.

This human is far, far too comfortable around him - she had no issue just strolling right up, standing far too close for comfort, with far too much confidence for the situation at hand. It's honestly unnerving. Briefly taken off guard he steps backwards from her, staring with a mix of bewilderment and outrage. Just who does she think she is!? Once the whole thing runs through his processor properly, the offense takes precedence.

"You - what are you thinking!? Do you realize how easily I could crush you? Rest assured, I have no problems reminding you."
