Would love to RP with a Wanda, Peter(x-men or mcu) or more Erik’s! Always down for family bonding or angsty past lovers threads! Also open for shipping junk bc shipping gives me life.
“I know that, I moved to America because I know that. I threw myself into excessive schooling, speech classes and raising two kids because I knew that. I tried to fall in love again because I know that.”
She’d tried everything she could to let go of the idea of Erik Lensherr, but some small part of her always managed to fight against it.
“I don’t know what more I could have done for you,” he says, an admission of his own shortcomings as well as some semblance of an apology. “It was safer, for you. Without me by your side.”
"I didn't need you to do anything for me, I needed you to be there."
Part of her had always known he'd end up leaving though, it was this look she would sometimes see him get. Like he was waiting for something, ready to run or fight at a moments notice. A thought she took as true when she learned the truth about him.
"I think that it was actually safer for you, Erik. Not having to worry that you would loose someone in the crossfire. I have always wondered though--if you'd have stayed if I'd told you."
The fear that he wouldn't had been what held her back in the first place, she'd seen his expression when he said he was leaving after all. He'd seen his determination to follow whatever lead it was had gotten word of that horrible man who he'd met as a child, she'd been young and afraid of rejection--so she had kept it to herself.
MARYA:
Continued from @ofmysticism
“It’s not at all, and well we wait for the oven to be done why don’t I take a look at your knee? I’m not a doctor quite yet but I have been a nurse for over 20 years.”
She had heard about Mystique from Peter, she appreciated that she was teaching her son how to fight and defend himself since he seemed insistent on being a part of Xavior’s X-Men. With the way she had handled herself during the incident in DC over 10 years ago? She was glad that someone strong was there to look out for her son, and she felt that she owed her her gratitude. And in this instance? Her help.
too long had raven been ON HER OWN, that now this kindness made her feel out of place. a tight smile was given, azure lips turned into a line before she nodded at the woman. ’ i will HEAL fast — but i’d appreciate, thank you. ’
maybe she shouldn’t have come here, but it was the CLOSEST to a safe place she could think of. she already cherished peter — and she knew who was his father. it was funny to think this woman and erik, so many years ago… she had to be STRONG, no doubt about it. her movements were careful when she shifted her position so the woman could examine the wound, breath CAUGHT in her throat at the motion.
"If I hurt you at all let me know, I'm not used to patients with.." was scales the right word for the things on her skin that allowed her to change shape? "Your unique mutation."
Though she had helped mutants out at work, most of the people on the night shift in the ER didn't really like mutants to much. Since she didn't mind at all dealing with mutants, she was normally the one who was assigned to them well they waited for the Doctor on duty that night.
When Raven moved so that she could better examine her knee Marya reached out to lightly feel it, making sure that nothing seemed to be out of place. She wasn't sure how her healing worked, so it was better to make sure it didn't heal strangely if it wouldn't set it in the right place.
"It seems to have been popped back into place correctly, it's a good think you have an ability that heals you. An injury like that could have caused lasting damage otherwise.
“listening to your instincts only works if you know which part of yourself is talking from wisdom and which part is talking from fear or hurt.”
The remark was said in a harder tone than she meant, but afterwards she forced herself to relax a bit. Her expression lost a bit of the harder edge, her shoulders relaxed a little and she did her best not to glare at the other. There was enough conflict in the world without her having one with him, and with Peter seemly ready to jump right in the middle of the worlds problems? She wouldn’t make him responsible for any of her own, he was grown-up now and had every right to tell Erik the truth no matter her view on the subject. That didn’t mean that she wasn’t still protective of both him and his sister, no matter what their abilities allowed them to do.
“If you hurt either Peter or Wanda in any way; I don’t care how much power you have you will have to deal with me, Erik.”
She didn’t think that her would physically hurt them, no. That wasn’t what she had meant. Peter and Wanda had spent so much time not knowing who their Father was, and then Tiana’s Father had died when she was almost two and the twin’s were in their late teens. If he didn’t anything to break their hearts the way he had her’s when he left? She would not let that go, and she would not let him get away with it.
Her words are so ferocious and yet so wise that he is brought up short, lips parting without any words forthcoming, brows slightly raised. For all that Erik’s opinion of humans has steadily declined over the years, he will likely always have respect for this woman, and he remembers now why he’d bothered with her for so long in the first place.
That she has to address his power at all stings, admittedly, in ways he was not prepared for. It’s as though she is situating herself between him and their children, ready to defend, ready to sacrifice herself if necessary to stave off the hatred and violence of a villain. While Erik knows he deserves this because he has earned it, that doesn’t mean it burns him any less.
“I would never harm our children,” he says lowly, trying not to sound angry, because he is certain that’s not the emotion he is experiencing now. There’s something desperate and aching about the way he feels, and he feels conflicted as to whether or not he could stand letting her know that.
“Whatever else I’ve been guilty of,” Erik presses, “Don’t accuse me of that.” His words may be stubborn and defensive, but the way his head bows is indicative of shame and submission. He would not harm her, either, and the tragedy of it all is that he is not so sure she knows that.
"You don't have to harm them to hurt them, all you have to do is say the wrong thing, push the wrong button, vanish on them. There is more ways than physical that you could harm them and you need to realize that now. I don't think you could harm your own children anymore that I could; but if you hurt them I swear you will regret it. Peter thinks that having someone, knowing you have family will help you. Don't make him wrong, he has hope right now."
As tough as Peter tried to seem she could see the kindness in him when he looked after his little sister, when he talked with Wanda. When he talked about finding Erik even after learning the truth; he wanted to help his Father even before any of them knew about Nina by giving him what he had lost during the war. A family.

“I loved you. I needed you, and you went away. The truth is I don’t think I ever really let go…”
“It would have been better for you, if you had.” A part of him is glad to hear it; she had meant a lot to him, during the time he had allowed himself to linger.
“I know that, I moved to America because I know that. I threw myself into excessive schooling, speech classes and raising two kids because I knew that. I tried to fall in love again because I know that.”

“Are you honestly surprised that I di- dn’t tell you? You were so insistent, so bent on your revenge. I wasn’t go- ing to have a child subjected to that. Let alone two.“
She’d heard about Egypt, Peter had writen her a lett- er and ploped it into their mailbox himself. Probably because he’d known she would not be okay with him putting himself in danger like that, that she would sc- old him for being recklace despite his age. And so s- he had come to the school to do just that, not even t- he slightest bit expecting to see Erik. A conversation about having not told Erik he had two children had n- ot been what she was prepared for on this visit.
“I’m not,” Erik responds, and she may rest secure in the knowledge that without reason to lie to her about it, he is being honest and sincere. Peter is of age to deal with this sort of thing now; he had taken it upon himself to come to the institute and to tag along with the others on their way to rescue Charles and put a stop to the terrible plot that had threatened to destroy everything. To remake it in false god’s image. But as a child, Erik would never have exposed him to such horrors.
Besides, Shaw had been a different sort of threat altogether. Not on so grand a scale, but equally as terrifying to Erik, who had spent his life pushing away the ghosts that haunted him in his efforts to grow stronger and better. In his efforts to recover. He hadn’t been ready for a family, and he honestly can’t say how he would have handled one.
“I don’t blame you for keeping anything to yourself. You trusted your instincts.” Just as he had trusted his own. He must wonder just how much she knows; he is ill-prepared for this meeting, and even more so the possibility of discussing what else he had loved and lost before he had been found and spirited away to serve as a Horseman of the Apocalypse.
“listening to your instincts only works if you know which part of yourself is talking from wisdom and which part is talking from fear or hurt.”

Everyone loses someone they care about. The real test of character is what you do once they’re gone.
