“I’m no good at relaxing, and I don’t really know how to have fun. But I want to learn with you.”

We haven’t had the post-battle session yet, but our characters recently survived a world-ending battle and now finally my stoic, emotionally repressed boy will be able to smile and learn how to relax and have fun 🥺🥺🥺

In an all-day session, we fought a truly epic battle against the storm lord titan Sydon for the fate of Thylea’s capital city, Mytros. Long-kept secrets were revealed, godly allies were called upon, and the entirety of the city’s forces came together to defend against a destruction that would have leveled the continent.

The Triumvirate (Lathander the Dragonlord Dragonrider paladin and his bonded silver dragon Lapis, Phoebe the druid of sacrifice, and Azriel the Great Old One warlock) fought hard and nearly died, but eventually emerged victorious. Lathander piloted the Colossus to face Sydon’s initial assault head-on, while Azriel turned the tide of battle with a Dominate spell and Phoebe got the killing blow against Sydon’s source of power.

I spent a lot of time thinking about Dragon Age earlier this spring (what with an Inquisition replay while I was recovering from top surgery & my ongoing/languishing Veilguard longfic.) I even drew some chibis and turned them into keychains/acrylic standees!

I had a lot of fun drawing for Artfight this year, though I definitely got lazy with the compositions and mostly stuck to headshots. Next year I want to work harder on posing and draw more busts/halfbodies.

The late summer and fall brought me back around to my Good Omens phase, including some bookbinding—and designing a cover and typeset for my own fic!

And of course throughout the year I’ve been drawing lots of Lathander and characters from the DnD campaign I’m currently running. There are so many scenes from our recent sessions that I want to put to paper soon!
