i just think like. so many of tenna's scenes have him looking above people or straight ahead. and while yes this could very easily indicate him thinking less of others around him ( yadda yadda yaddda ) i am choosing to shoot him with the just like me for real beam and go ACTUALLY !! autism.

headcanon time.

he doesn't typically like eye contact. performing is easy for him because all he has to do is look in someone's / the audience's general direction, and he's not obligated to look actually focus on someone because, hey ! he's performing !! he has to cheat out to the camera, of course, so why Would he look at the contestants. he's so normal !! plus he has the added bonus of like !! no one knows who he's looking at anyway on account of not having eyes lmao. so he has plausible deniability like "what do you mean i'm not looking at you yes i am !! ;;;" <- is not looking at you.

but !!! when he's having a Time and trying to seem normal he overcompensates for these things, like ACTUALLY looking at someone to try to seem like he's not going through the worst emotional experience of his life right now ( the result is more off-putting than anything because this makes it incredibly apparent how casually he approaches his "eye contact" / lack thereof ).

i will note though, when talking to susie outside of the rounds, it does seem like he actually tries to look at her . he cares about her so much <- not going to cry over their relationship at all . susie's new dad is a divorced child of divorce crt with bpd and autism . he does also look at kris when having his breakdown !! he thinks so much of them both, and i think it's very notable that despite the fact he is having the world's worst mental breakdown in front of these kids he's still trying to show them he cares, even if that means doing something he doesn't like to ( like making eye contact ) ( do you see me . do you hear me . imagine i am shaking you by the shoulders. i'm so extremely autistic about this guy okay ).

anyway i think that tenna smiles a Lot. like yes, we know he does this but i mean like in the autism way. i think he smiles when he's uncomfortable, when he's awkward, when he doesn't know what to do with his face, i think he smiles most of the time if he can help it, and it only really slips when he's upset ( which like. he gets upset often but quite honestly i think he tries to keep his emotions as under control as he can while on the air. what we see of him in the game is a Different Case because he's literally at the end of his rope or however the saying goes ). i think mr ant tenna hears awful news that doesn't relate to him and smiles because he doesn't know what the appropriate facial reaction to have is. is this anything. i dunno. i'm rambling. i will also keep rambling.

i think the closest he's ever gotten to trying to utilize looking "scary" at times is with his sprite with fangs. we all know it, we're all acquainted with it, some people go a bit wild over it, and i have Thoughts about it. the sprite i mean. i think that at First, the "scary" face actually worked on the pippins, zappers and shadowguys. but then as everyone got more familiar with how tenna is, the "scary" face just became another face he makes sometimes. he still tries to use it, and i don't think he ever completely understood that they don't take that face seriously. his actually upset smile though, That does get them scared or concerned. i do also think if tenna didn't smile all the time he'd have the most blank expression at all times. let your tv unmask his autism he's going through it /silly

also i think he does the look down thing in his idle during the boss fight because he's looking at the fun gang this whole time and he's taking a moment to look away to give himself a moment of reprieve from looking at someone for so long. he's trying really hard to keep it together long enough for the knight to get there and he is Failing at it. he is having the worst time of his life, not only having a mental breakdown on live tv but also in front of his family and people he respects a lot. all of that while also trying to keep up the mask of Looking at them. i feel insane okay

more tenna doodles i forgot to post !! i did the first two most recently. and i guess also the tenna tenna beam one was recent but i'm not proud of how that looks despite being a doodle so i'm not claiming it as Recent even though i drew it like yesterday or the day before. anyway. tenna spongebob dance. can anyone hear me. i think he would do it.

i'm also working on an animatic ( two actually ) but motivation is fleeting so whether or not i get as much as i want done is yet to be seen.. one animatic is for only a 2 minute song and the other is . 6 minutes 10 seconds. i'm normal. the longer animatic required i figure out a baby noelle design though so her cute little face is all you get to see of her for now :3c
