It's been a little over a year since I finished posting my last long fic, From Darkness Light, and at that time I told myself to take a break and work on something short and happy.

Long story definitely NOT cut short, I didn't do that. Nothing Else but Us started off as a 180k word story that ballooned into something I really love. If you like My Time at Sandrock, fanfics, and an egregious amount of pining from a male lead, this is a love letter to you.

Summary: Nothing Else but Us

Logan's inability to find meaning in the meaningless universe damned him to a life of mundanity. Seven years after a devastating break-up, he stagnated in Sandrock, watching from afar as Maxine took her place as the world's best Builder with a series of best-selling books plummeting her to an unexpected stardom. When the city refuses to investigate strange happenings in the Eufaula like unexpectedly enraged monsters and murders related to an Old World folk hero, his recklessness drives him to investigate, but he's not the only one.

Been away from posting here for a while due to writing my next long fic series. Now that the first draft is done, I’ve had time to write something short and fun. 

This has been an insane, incredible experience since I finished uploading my first, long fanfic ever in mid-July.

All the feedback has been enthusiastic and warm. Having even one person commenting that they read what I wrote would’ve been overwhelming, so this has been amazing.

When I noticed it’d moved over 2k hits today, I wanted to show gratitude somewhere. So thanks if you’ve read it!

As of tonight, all parts of my fanfic - From Darkness, Light - are uploaded.

Final word count: 477k after applying some last minute fixes.

Most of Arlo’s job is paperwork, and if the new Builder doesn’t learn to be careful, that paperwork is going to bury him alive.

The general gist is this: if you’re currently suffering or afraid or just…assaulted by those in power for who you are, find joy in anything because they want us compliant in our misery. I needed to escape the horror of what is happening outside my influence and was surprised at how much just…writing this fanfic for myself helped.

I need to protect myself and my family, and if it takes 437k+ words of pining and…uh…“lovemaking” between two fictional video game characters to give me strength, so be it.
