she got into the habit of not turning on the lights anymore once the sun goes down because it's not necessary for her anymore. everything looks relatively the same in the light or the dark

it's an inconvenience for Zoey and Mira. Rumi already hardly makes any noise, vocally or physically; you'd see her before you heard her, and if you didn't see her, she would end up scaring the shit out of you when she finally spoke and you had no idea she was there. and calling her name isn't the foolproof solution, because if she's wearing noise-cancelling headphones with music blasting then she won't hear

but now the light that allowed them to see Rumi is gone. nighttime in the penthouse, if she's not with them in the living room or in her own room, she could be literally anywhere and they'd have no clue because Rumi leaves all the lights off even if she's sitting in that room. and she's not constantly glowing, either

her one demon eye reflects light the way a cat's does at night so imagine walking into the pitch-black kitchen and seeing one singular reflective eye looking back at you and then you flick on the lights and it's Rumi making a late night cup of ramyeon
