just another Bechloe Fan

I have been avoiding this place for a few weeks now. Aside from being a busy time for me, it's just not much of a fun place to unwind for me....at least not anymore. I've been a Bechloe fan for a few years but haven't mingled with the fandom often in the past and this Tumblr account was just something I created a couple years ago to engage with other fellow like-minded fans. For me, Tumblr was like a additional luxury. I honestly didn't need it but I absolutely enjoyed it. I didn't contribute much except for reblogging and posting occasional thoughts on the Pitch Perfect franchise. And this place contained an amazingly fruitful source of fanfiction written by extreme levels of talent. Too numerous to mention that I do have some specific favorites.

However, the more I spend time here, I realize that I don't share the same level of enthusiasm or extreme emotional attachment that involves purely spiteful words and other kinds of venom that SOME fans have for actor's significant others. I said some but not all. And don't get me started on Instagram. That's perhaps even worse especially with the constant tagging of either Brittany or Tyler. And I keep seeing this on my dashboard with some people I follow.

It's not the people I follow, but the anonymous ones who have through their hurtful words of contempt towards a celebrity's special person who they really know nothing about. Neither of us know outside of what is being posted on Instagram or any other social media account and yet, there are people who hang on to every or picture because apparently to them, it explains the actress's whole lifestyle along with who they deem important in their lives. I don't know who made you the authority to their life but if Brittany's parents haven't said or done anything to stop this relationship or her friends, I'm pretty sure they've given Tyler the seal of approval or at the very least don't think that he's damaging to her psyche or life. We don’t know anything that goes on outside of their social media accounts. And I’m not even counting past behavior because people do actually change.

There are others I have seen that are nothing but sweethearts and have extremely good intentions and to those Bechloe fans, I wish them the best. Those are the kinds of objective people and sound people that I can see thriving in this fandom and keeping this fandom alive in a very positive and uplifting way. Unfortunately I'll be missing out on that in the future but regardless, keep it up, you awesome people.

Anyhow, I'll probably just keep this account up for the sole purpose of just visiting this "time-capsule" whenever I want to walk down memory lane. There were some great moments that overshadowed the bad but for now I bid you all farewell. Maybe sometime I'll pop up but it won't be anytime soon.

Still...regardless of it all, I still believe in Bechloe so I'll be a fan for life. I'll just have to do it quietly in the corner from now on. And maybe someday, I can even get my kids to enjoy it as well. They're too young to even know about this shipping biz even if they've seen all three Pitch Perfect movies LOL.
