I always thought that the Rocky/Adrian relationship was an integral part to the Rocky series.

I’ve watched the first Rocky movie back since I’ve grown older, and I have noticed how Adrian doesn’t really have much of a voice. Or at least that is what I thought on one certain rewatch.

Like, in the scene where she’s in Rocky’s apartment and she wants to go home. I thought it was kind of creepy that Rocky would keep her there and not let her get out. It must of frightened her.

Just like how him always showing up at the pet shop must have weirded her out.

But then I was just thinking that maybe she wanted to be loved by someone. And that Rocky never was a bum or a creep. He just wanted someone in his life, because he was tired of being alone.

That is why he constantly courted Adrian.

And maybe Adrian wanted someone in her life, too. She just didn’t come out and say it. Which was why she didn’t ever tell Rocky to,“screw off” like Marie did.

Maybe Adrian wanted Rocky’s attention, because he saw something in her despite what her brother Paulie would say to her.

We’ll never really know what Adrian’s thoughts about Rocky were. Or what any of her thoughts were.

All we ever see is her being supportive and always by Rocky’s side to cheer him on or worry over him.

Sometimes I think about what were her dreams?

What did she want to accomplish in her life besides working at the pet store and being a wife/partner in Rocky’s life.

I imagine that she must have kept a journal…filled with all of the thoughts that the viewers never got to hear her say.
