Our house and neighborhood survived the Carr Fire, making us luckier than the 1000 people who lost their homes. We are new to Redding; moved here in December. This experience and witnessing the brutally hard work of Redding’s first responders and all those brave humans working for CalFire, plus the genuine efforts of the city, local media, non-profits, outreach organizations and, most importantly, fellow citizens, to step up and help, has been a truly humbling, inspiring and life-altering experience for us.
