Being Mercury's Hero, you'd come to realize, was more about cleaning up his messes and meditating disputes rather than actual Hero work. Like today for instace; you were running back and forth through the Divine Council hub as fast as your legs could carry you. It had gotten to a point where your Guardians no longer even tried to accompany you on your local errands for your Patron; how could they keep up when you were running like an Energizer bunny?
Back and forth, sunlight bearing down on your back, and you skid to a halt in front of the Heavenly Deities office. Swipe your badge, enter the waiting room, suffer through the inevitable purgatory joke, and hurry up and wait. Archangel Gabriel was...quiet. And you would never get used to his curious eyes. Drop off the paperwork, thank him for his time, and off you go again.
Back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. Maybe you should just—
"Hey!" You almost scream when someone grabs your arm and yanks you to the left; you hit the marbled wall with a sharp thud and can almost see stars blinking in and out of your vision. Slumping to the ground with a groan, head throbbing, you look up at the blurry figure standing above you.
She's...pretty. And terrifying. And you find yourself wishing Alexander or Hui Yin were here to shove them in front of you.
Long dark hair, dark brown eyes almost black in color, and tan skin that glistened with sweat in the sun were the first things you notice. A moment later you notice the gun that she taps against her shoulder and the hand she offers you. "You're lucky I was here, you know?" She grins at you the way a predator grins at the rabbit they have blocked in a corner. "Or you would have run headfirst into that." She jerks her head to the right and for the first time you register the absolute chaos in the hub central. Two minor deities were having a...spat, and godly auras were flying.
Apparently tired of waiting for you to accept her help, she grips your shirt and begins yanking you to your feet. "A Hero of Mercury huh?" You go to open your mouth but she keeps going. "Hermes is interested in you. Ain't nothing special about that on its own but...well." Her eyes crinkle as smiles, her hand tightens on your arm, and you feel almost trapped.
A moment passes. And another. And then she laughs.
Blowing a out a breath, she lets go of your arm and takes a few steps forward. She tips her head, turning to look at you, and smiles. "Name's Lea by the way. If you ever decide to ditch the loser, drop by the Greek embassy and ask for me."
And then she's gone.
