oooo i like the sound of this! being forced to work together due to circumstances during or even after the war. there’s obviously contention there because they were / are on opposing sides during the rebellion, which could be cause for some interesting conflict if circumstance brings them together. morpheus & nadeia could even find themselves with similar motivations / goals during nadeia’s villain arc? 

it’s too late, i’m already in tears!! i’ll elaborate on this when i write some more headcanons / finish up morpheus’s info page, but i think phoebe is one of the few people morpheus interacted with unselfishly. there’s seemingly no reason why he begins following her around, but the truth is that it’s really that simple. he isn’t following her to manipulate her, or surveil her in any way. he just .... thinks she’s interesting. as a knight, phoebe gets to decide what cause she’s fighting for. she gets to decide what her code is. she gets to discover for herself what the right thing to do is. as the champion of the dream-god ( again, gotta finish that information page! ) morpheus doesn’t always get to decide those things for himself. so he looks up to her, in a way. 

their dynamic is so messy & i love it. morpheus treated tamasin badly. there were good moments, rare moments of sincerely where the two of them really connected. but that doesn’t outweigh the bad. it doesn’t make the hurt he’s caused okay ( even if it wasn’t always of his own accord ). the prison arc really gives them time to untangle that mess and decide who they are to each other. enemies? strangers? friends? even they don’t know. 

listen tv ..... you already know how much i love antiphonus & morpheus. there’s SO much potential there. them having a history before war breaks out & even when they find each other on opposing sides, they still care about each other. “enemies” in the non-traditional sense, where they never really hate each other ( though they may pretend to ). slowly & surely, despite everything, falling In Love? all i do is listen to flowers from hadestown and think about Them. 

we love a protagonist / antagonist dynamic!! every day morpheus wakes up & goes ‘hmmm who will i manipulate today’... shame that sometimes it has to be theseus :/
