Wasps of the family Vanhorniidae are rare with currently only 4 known species scattered all across the world. If you want to meet this cryptid for yourself, a good place to check would be near/on dead or dying maple trees as they are parasitoids of the false click beetles (Eucnemidae) that make the rotting wood their home.

Oh yeah and she also has weird mandibles that possibly swing outwards. That or she could just use some braces.

In recent turn of events Disney has reacted to copyright violations by removing baba Yaga, popularized by the film star wars. Beloved by all, baba Yaga had taken the world by storm. It had trended Twitter’s top tags for many weeks. Yet Disney is deleting baba Yaga. What will become of it? Once beloved by all, recent turn of events has seen Twitter’s once top trender get removed due to copyright. Savor baba Yaga while you can!

A sheltering earwig warning me to back away from his nap spot with his large forceps! When threatened, earwigs can use the pincers, forceps, on their abdomen to deliver a pinch just strong enough to startle something human-sized or injure another invertebrate. Unlike their mostly ground-dwelling relatives that I'm more used to seeing, this species is commonly found nestled in leaves or wandering amongst trees and shrubs. The first time I saw one, I was shocked to see an earwig in a tree!
