So many times I have died alone in my room

gas stations and motel signs at night. worn down diners with a live in feel. fields and haystacks. impalas with rust on the hoods and the distant hum of cicadas. ice cream stands and broken windows. trailers with christmas lights strung around the outside, all year round. 2 liters of coke and bare feet. the trinket section of a thrift store. empty barrels and patsy cline playing softly on a hardly working radio. heart shaped beds and ribbons in the hair. motorcycles and 2am liquor stores. parliaments and anerican spirits fresh out of the box. braids and fingers dipped in soil. false lashes and false nails. hair teased to high heaven. this is where the soul resides.

i dont want a man who plays hard to get i want a man who crawls on his hands and knees begging for my attention. i want a man who cries and grabs my ankles. i walk and he just hangs on and gets dragged along wherever i go like a decorative train on a dress
