An eye for an eye
This is another portrait of Sauron nothing changes nothing new
Servant and Successor
Sauron, one of my favorite inspirations <3 Been a while
Trees and people used to be good friends. I saw that tree and decided to buy the house. Hope Mom likes it too.

villains are hard to design. making them ugly is dangerous, depending on what traits you choose to frame as monstrous or undesirable, you could very well end up saying something fatphobic, racist, anti-semitic, etc
but if you make a hot villain then people will get thirsty and demand redemptions and refuse to acknowledge their evil actions, no matter how despicable
âŚâŚâŚâŚ..you think?
âŚâŚâŚâŚ..donât look up Sauron on AO3
Nothing fails to crack me up like this post - the vain hope that somewhere out there is some awful nasty thing that there is not also a person whose kink that is, the idea that covering something up wonât make people obsessed with finding out what it looks like underneath, the surface level understanding of Sauron and complete lack of knowledge of the Silmarillion and itâs fandom, the fact that Sauron was canonically hot as fuck, the amount of Sauron erotica I have seen, God this post never gets old
The Poster Of The Comment:Â You donât see people shipping themselves with Sauron!
The Very Large And Dedicated Community Of Sauronfuckers In The Tolkien Fandom, collectively:
Point. For those who have not read Sillmarilion, Sauron used to look something like this
Shigaraki Tomura as the series progresses:
this is so dumb sorry
Imagine youre crying in a hospital bed and your ex wife who you havent seen in 10 years shows up and tells you to get the fuck over yourself

man the Appalachian mountains really arenât shit huh
The Rockies are new, young and virile and fresh from the Laramide orogeny, tall and lanky teenagers on the geological scale. the Appalachian mountains are old, formed hundreds of millions of years ago before dinosaurs walked the Earth. They are ancients, elders, witnesses to half a billion years of life coming and going. To be tall is not a virtue. To be small is not a sin. The Appalachians are eroding under the weight of time, slowly shrinking and returning to the Earth from which they sprang. Appreciate them while they are still here.
I do want to say real quick again about the age of the AppalachiansâŚ
They said âbefore dinosaurs,â but we have a cave here that began forming between 450 million to 550 million years ago.
There are no bones in that cave. No fossils. No nothing.
Thatâs because this cave began forming before bones existed on land, and had only just started to exist in the ocean. Shellfish hadnât evolved yet. Limestone, which forms many caves, was just starting to become a more prevalent rock.
The mountains arenât older than dinosaurs. They are older than bones.
Okay, that is impressive.
Geology inspires poetry
JRR Tolkien, The Return of the King
âRat Parkâ -Stuart McMillen
Youâll never think about drug addiction the same way again after reading this comic.
What I found absolutely impressive and stunning about this comic is the way the artist explained the identification and elimination of the confounding factors in the Rat Park study. This is one of the hardest parts of experiments to explain to the public, and I think it was just brilliantly done.
This is one of the most important pieces of research done in the last 50 years.Â
Read this!
A beautiful experiment and so simply explained for even the most naive layman to understand. I love it.
Pacific Northwest Gothic
- An old fisherman once told you, âWhen you wander these woods, itâs like being lost in your own soul.â Maybe thatâs why you feel  dead eyes watching you from behind the trees.
- Visitors complain that the sun rarely unveils itself from the clouds and mist, and you laugh quietly. Â The fools. Â They do not understand that there are certain things not meant to be seen by the light of day.
- The morning fog slowly covers your campsite.  When it dissipates, your friendâs tent is missing.  How many came on this camping trip?  it was always one, wasnât it?  âŚWasnât it?
- The mountain is out. Â It is closer today. Â Try not to wonder how many homes it had to swallow to get there.
- The crows gather on the trees and buildings. Â You start counting, 1, 2, 3, 4, but there are too many to count. Â They gather as one, they fly off as one. Â That is why they will survive and you will not. Â Their feathers block out the light.
- âHave you been to the Seattle Art Museum?â Someone asks. Â You pretend not to have heard. Â What a strange thing to hear from one of the exhibits.
- At the farmerâs markets, there is a reason we are drawn to vintage furniture, scarves, jewelry. Â Things that hold so many memories always have space for a few more secrets.
- The ocean bores holes through the cliffs, crushes stones beneath its waves. It will erode you, too, given enough time.
- The streets of Seattle are built on the bones of a much older city. Â And beneath that, a city older still.
- The sheds on the interstate are an admission that we cannot hold back the encroaching snow. Â "Hazardous conditions for travelers", the signs say. Â "Warning! Â Collapsing snowfields". Â When and if you emerge from the pass, will you still be the same person who went in?
