I don't mean to make anyone feel uncomfortable or dismissive people's mental health. Im genuinely curious.
When people post saying they were in a really dark place and wouldn't be here if it wasn't for Sebastian.
What exactly did they do to help you?
To me I dont understand how an actor that you probably have never spoken to or meet can help you through such things?
Is it Sebastian "mental health advice"?
I'm so glad it helped you. In my opinion he just says really vague and generic things. Its like self help books that things like "stop caring what others think" My reaction is always yeah I figured doing that would help but how specifically do I do that?
Is it his movies?
The characters Sebastian plays aren't really up lifting people
Is it his looks or his interviews?
Okay he is very handsome but I dont see how that would help you.
His interviews just seem to he a lot of word salad and him talking nonsense while trying to sound deep. Unless he's with someone else but the other actor normally makes the jokes.
To me if he helped you thats brilliant. Anything that helps is good. However I can't stop feeling you got through that hard time because your incredibly strong and brave not because of Sebastian. By giving Sebastian the credit your dismissing how hard you worked ๐
I think one of the biggest mistakes fandoms make is giving celebrities credit for things they didn't actually do.
And before anyone gets mad, hear me out.
If a movie got you through a dark time, that's real.
If a character made you feel seen, that's real.
If interviews, fandom friends, conventions, or having something to look forward to helped you survive a difficult period, that's real too.
But you still did the hard part.
You got out of bed.
You made it through another day.
You went to therapy, took your medication, leaned on your support system, or fought your way through it however you could.
The celebrity didn't do that.
You did.
I think sometimes people say, "This actor saved my life," when what they really mean is, "This actor's work gave me comfort while I was saving my own life."
And honestly? That's far more powerful.
Because if that actor retires tomorrow, disappears from social media, changes careers, or stops being the person you've built up in your head, the strength that got you through that dark period doesn't disappear.
It was never theirs.
It was always yours.
Maybe they were the flashlight.
But you were the one who walked out of the tunnel.
the cartier ads are marketed to a high income public. your parasocial hate (and obsession) makes you think extreme black and white.//
I mean...they're right. We aren't that demographic. And that particular demographic is....hmm....all style no substance. They act philosophical, try to be deep, but are as shallow as a kiddie pool. That's who Cartier is writing for though and he's the medium used ๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธ. They could have used anyone for this campaign, it'd still sound insipid af.
The Cartier ads are aimed at a wealthy demographic. Nobody is arguing that. But people keep acting like that means the rest of us aren't supposed to have opinions about them.
Luxury marketing absolutely relies on ordinary people seeing it. That's why they hire celebrities in the first place. If Cartier only cared about people who could immediately buy a $10,000+ watch, they'd put their ads in private country clubs and call it a day.
The whole point is aspiration.
As for the actual campaign? Yeah, I think that's where we agree. The writing is trying very hard to sound profound and philosophical, but a lot of it comes across like a fortune cookie that went to film school.
I agree. He's the face they're using. The message would still be pretentious if they swapped him out for another actor tomorrow.
"but a lot of it comes across like a fortune cookie that went to film school" I'm cackling like a witch in a decrepit cottage ๐คฃ
His whole thing about โpeople blame menโ feels like how a lot of men are reacting to this new wave of feminism. Even the best allies in my life still get overly defensive sometimes as things get worse for us. Since theyโre โone of the good onesโ and donโt want to be looped in with the worst when we voice our frustrations, blaming men as an entire system (because itโs โnot all men!โ).
And I get being uncomfortable with people that speak passionately on the extreme side of anything (if itโs unnecessarily cruel), but general discomfort is how men should feel as long as thereโs a war on women. Itโs NOT his place to call it โeasyโ to blame men. Being radical about this is the only way things will change, because they are all complicit even on the lowest level. Even if he means well and wants to be diplomatically centrist about this itโs in very poor taste for the times weโre in. He needs to get more involved instead of reading all that male philosophy that excludes the feminine perspective.

Con: I lost my Steve/Bucky pin today, exactly four years after getting it, and the Etsy shop I got it from closed down ๐ญ
Pro: figured out the shop was actually a dropship, did a reverse image search on the pin, and found a real seller in the UK on Etsy that has it. Getting it in two weeks. ๐ฅฐ

So let me understand this because people of color have been called worse it's okay to be racist against white people and white people are not supposed to say anything about it you know what to wrongs don't make a right.//
Hey, Dumbass. Reverse racism isn't a thing. The oppression doesn't exist for it to be racism. It could be prejudice at the most and even then the tone didn't read that way. Stop being dense.
Ffs this conversation again?
Sm people are talking about AW doing witchcraft or black magic on SS. /// omg you can't be fr pleaseee ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ I'm not even a shipper but talking about Annabelle doing black magic is wilddd like you guys need to let it go atp ๐ญ๐ญ
Yeah cuz like what are we doing here guys
I come from a country where this kind of thing is taken very seriously, and it's also mentioned in our religion. I'm not talking about harmless superstition or "manifesting," I'm talking about evil witchcraft.
I did a reading, not tarot, but something much older, and it suggested that something has been done to him. I can't say for certain who was behind it. It does point to a woman, but more specifically to a woman who was paid to perform it. One of the details that came up involved a cloth containing semen being burned as part of the ritual.
According to our teachings and traditions, if someone wants to break such a spell, they need to undergo a spiritual cleansing. Depending on the tradition, this can involve crossing seven seas, bathing beneath a waterfall, or washing with blessed water from an Abrahamic faith, whether from a mosque, a church, or a synagogue.
Again, I know some people will read this and think it's ridiculous or a joke. Where I come from, it isn't. Many people genuinely believe in these practices and take them very seriously.
.
Yes, by all means, fuel the delulu running like wildfire through this particular space in the fandom ๐
Idgaf where you're at or what you believe in. Shutting the fuck up for the greater good is easy and free.
This video explains how witchcraft works. Holy hell now I'm scared. (I'm the black magic anon ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ)
//
Black magic isn't real. White magic isn't real. It's way too early to get into the various practices (nearly 5 am and I'm about to get ready for work), but those terms are rooted in racism and white supremacy. They're antiquated.

@ssteamingtea ^^ this shit
But I'm not sure if he's held hostage. My gut says not to black magic and I feel it's mostly her manifesting against him and the evil eye. I think he should stop using claude and go to tarot readers on YouTube. He deffo uses YouTube shorts because within the last 2 days random tarot readers gave some general readings which were timeless and idk how but each resembled with me. I mean when the universe is tryna make you focus somewhere it just happens. Idk if he's religious or not (I'm and I'm not christian) but I feel like he should atleast get into spirituality or smth if he doesn't have time for other things. Meditating and clearing your mind helps a lot. //
SS miiiiight be Christian or Catholic, but it could also just be his OCD. He mentioned in a past interview that he has to make the sign of the cross 3 times before boarding an airplane. And he has to make the sign of the cross 3 times each time he goes to church. But he only mentioned visiting one or a few Romanian churches to pay respect to his birth father that passed away. Don't know if he actually worships. SS did mention that he meditated at one point in his life, but I don't know if he kept it up. Also, who's Claude?
I've dabbled very, very lightly in gray magic. Don't come after me, I know it's not great, and I've since stopped. I've had a tiny bit experience, not a lot, so I am absolutely not an expert, I was barely a novice. But, I've gotten the same feeling from anon. My intuition says that it does feel like AW has some kind of hold on him. It could be magic, or it could be something more physical, like blackmail or other forms of irl manipulation. But I feel that she has just enough power over him to make him stay with her.
If it is magic, she could very well just hire a gray witch to help her out. It doesn't have to be a strong binding spell via black magic that causes obsession. It could be something lighter but still within the black/gray area. He would be compelled to stay with AW, even if he's miserable, and only AW would have been given the power to break the spell to free him, kind of like a failsafe (or another witch could also free him). I've known a few gray witches that would do this for a client for a nice chunk of money.
That being said, I was barely a novice, so I have no idea how to break the spell for him if this be the case. Especially because I don't know him irl, and I also don't have the skill to do magic remotely (I'd have to be with him, and he'd have to consent. But I've stopped practicing at the beginning stages, so I might not even be strong/skilled enough for this). We all know that AW will never willingly free him. Doooo we have some more advanced witchy anons who can take this on? (Again, I was barely a novice. So if I'm wrong at any point...it's because I was the babiest of baby witches, inexperienced, and probably hanging around the wrong coven).

Okay. Okay. So book canon is out the door completely. Vampires in the Immortal Universe have some bodily functions and most importantly, they be fucking. Like, True Blood levels of hooring from the sounds of it.
If that be the case: Lestat de Lioncourt vs Eric Northman for the title of Horniest, Sluttiest Vampire in History - who wins?
๐คฃ
First episode of The Vampire Lestat down and hoooooly hell this season is gonna be an absolute mindfuck. Mans started the narrative in the middle of an existential crisis.
I actually made something new to me: arayes! @ssteamingtea be proud of meeee
Also, I need a case of these like right now
Today I leaned Jensen Ackles has ADD, though that's an outdated term so it's actually ADHD.
*ahm*

Ireland ain't forgetting 800 years of terrorism and colonization. ///
IRA was an Irish terrorist organization that filled the United Kingdom and Irland with death and terror for decades. It's best not to speak about what you don't know.
We can absolutely condemn the terrible violence and civilian deaths caused by the IRA during The Troubles. However, using their actions to excuse centuries of British colonization gets the history backward. Historians view the rise of the IRA as a destructive symptom of that colonial history and the state discrimination that followed it, not a justification for it. The British invasion of Ireland began in the 12th century, while the Provisional IRA wasn't formed until 1969. It is historically impossible to use the actions of a 20th-century paramilitary group to justify eight centuries of colonial rule that happened before it.
And you- my darling ignorant Anon- cannot cross out one wrong with another. Take your own advice โItโs best not to speak about what you donโt knowโ.
Oooh but I do love a little historical debate ๐ฉ
Ugh. Is the ad copy for the Cartier campaign trite? Sure. But they have their own marketing team who most likely wrote it. They're trying to evoke a timeless feeling and to anyone outside our specific, niche, and frankly too broke to ever afford Cartier demographic, it's gonna hit.
Y'all are grasping at straws here for this to be a reason to be critical of him right now. There's plenty of other angles to critique, so come off it. That ain't a high horse you're on, it's a pony, and you're being myopic.
