Ever notice how Olivier’s paladin title is obsidian?
Every other paladin’s title (jasper, bloodstone, sphene, diamond) is a crystal. Contrary to what certain people might think, obsidian is NOT a crystal. It’s an amorphous glass. The magma it’s made of cools down so quickly that there’s absolutely no time for crystals to form.
Now, let’s see what we know about Olivier :
He has a complicated relationship with his father
He expects to eventually be in a marriage of convenience
He could relate to Astolpho’s most rebellious phase of sneaking out and disobeying their parents because he used to do the same
According to Ogier, he doesn’t even try to act like he wants to be a chasseur
When Roland befriended a vampire, he couldn’t care less about his loyalty to the church or his faith. The only thing he was concerned about was Rolland’s safety
All in all, Olivier seems completely indifferent to his position as a paladin, probably even dislikes it. He has no particular faith or an opinion on what he does as a chasseur. Every other paladin has a strong motivation of some sort, be it vampire eradication for Gano, his “role” for Ogier or his faith for Roland. Olivier doesn’t have any. His only reason to be in the church at all seems to be the pressure from his family and the people his attached to (Roland, Astolpho, maybe also Mira). This effectively makes him the odd one out of the paladins, the one who doesn’t belong.
But interesting enough, we seen on Astolopho’s example that titles within the church are inherited. Which means it’s not only Olivier bearing the Obsidian title but probably his whole family. Why would a whole noble family be quite literally exposed as “fakes”? Unfortunately, we don’t know enough to understand what exactly that would mean but for those who read Pandora Hearts, the Nightray family comes to mind.
I find it really great, the way Olivier’s nicknames characterise him. Mira calls him “Romeo” but while the romantic aspect is the most obvious (and while I absolutely adore rolivier) I don’t think it’s what we’re being told with this name. Romeo is a character who was caged by his family and its rivalries, which eventually caused his death. For some with a backstory like Olivier’s it’s definitely not reassuring. It’s like an arrow pointing at him going “your family is not yet done with failing you”
hey, instead of studying, what if i reread all of Pandora Hearts ?
Him: "I can fix her, she's the one!!"
Her:
Malleus "only love can hatch me" Draconia vs Silver "only love can wake me" Vanrouge

Religious undertones in Rimbaud and Verlaine’s relationship
Rimlaine has very noticeable religious undertones to me and I just wanted to ramble about it. Their relationship could be interpreted as an allegory for Religious trauma in a way. I wanna look at that lens for both of them, but I’m mostly gonna talk about how Rimbaud enables this trauma, or at least plays a part in it.
I want to start with how Verlaine has been affected by religion.
"That's the problem." Verlaine's tone was tense and hostile.
"Rimbaud. Just once, I want you to imagine just how much it could affect a person if you told them they weren't human. Imagine how it feels to be told you weren't born with God's love, that you are nothing more than a character set someone suddenly came up with. Imagine the depths of a person's heart pierced by those words. It's a pitch-black abyss where the moon can't be seen. There is no hope. There is no salvation. Do you get it? Even those feelings of despair are merely something someone designed!" (Stormbringer)
Verlaine has been dehumanized so throughly that “there is no salvation” for him. There is no God or holy scripture that can save him because he fully believes that he will never be human enough for God. He thinks this way because he sees it in practice within their organization. We see how Rimbaud treats Verlaine, but never anyone else. They most likely don’t show him the same warmth. Rimbaud always tells him he’s human to reassure him because he personally cares about him, but to the French government he is just a spy, a soldier. They couldn’t care less about him on a personal level, which causes them to dehumanize him.
And yet, Rimbaud sees nothing wrong with working for that same government who constantly dehumanizes Verlaine, but he’s still wants Verlaine. It’s a contradiction that he doesn’t even realize because his job is second nature to him, like a religion. Hell he even abandons everyone he used to know for it because of his unwavering faith. He trusts and believes in his organization because he believes what they do is for the greater good. They are helping people, and yet the person he is by far closest to is directly hurt by it. He doesn’t realize any of it because that same organization treats Rimbaud in a similar way. It uses him as a soldier to carry out their bidding. They obviously don’t care about him as a person if Rimbaud had to leave his family and previous lover for it. Rimbaud sees nothing wrong with this because to him that’s just the way things are. It’s the status quo.
He so incredibly brainwashed by the organization, but Rimbaud still loved Verlaine in a way that defied his loyalty to his country. He no longer work with him because it was for his organization. At some point he was working with him because he trusted him with his life. He was devoted to him.
At the end of Stormbringer he lighthearted seems to scold Verlaine for forgetting one of the main rules to follow as a spy, don’t let your emotions get in the way, but that’s exactly what Rimbaud did. He was too attached to Verlaine and the organization at once. His love blinded him to Verlaine’s distain, ultimately dooming their last mission. It feels reminiscent of how in religion it is preached how we all need to love each other and under God we can all be equal, but at the same time sinners are often shamed and made to feel guilty for even the smallest of things. I know that’s not how it is in all religious spaces, but it often tends to be that way. Verlaine’s experience feels similar to how it like to be lgbtq+ in the Church. You’re told that you’re accepted there but at the same time one of the most key and essential parts of you is denounced as a sin. It makes you feel like something is wrong with you in a way that’s far worse than anyone else which can often be dehumanizing.
The problem wasn’t that Rimbaud shouldn’t have let himself get attached, it was that he was apart of an organization that didn’t let him get attached.
He was easier to manipulate and use if he devoted himself entirely to them. It’s like how most religious spaces have a strong sense of community, but only to the people inside their church. If they help other people they have to do it in a way that try’s to force others to join them. It’s like how Rimbaud had to leave his family for the organization. Then he tried to help Verlaine, but only if they could both be together in the organization. He could only be with him if they had the same faith, the faith that constantly dehumanizes them both.
Also just think about what their mission with Chuuya was. Find a child in a far off country and take it home to their organization so it can mold Chuuya into the perfect soldier for their cause, just like Verlaine. It feels similar to how missionary’s go out to different countries and try to “save” people by forcing their religion on them. That’s why Rimbaud has no problem with this plan. In a way he thought he was saving Chuuya, just like how he “saved” Verlaine.
I think it’s important to note just how Rimbaud’s way of thinking changes at the end of the fifteen light novel. The way he tells Chuuya that he’s human is by saying,
"Live," Randou said in almost a whisper. "There is no longer. any way of knowing...who you are or where you came from," he rasped. "But even if...you are but a pattern...etched on the surface of raw power...you are you. Nothing changes that...because all people, all humanity... their brains and flesh...are nothing more than patterns— beautiful patterns...upon the material world..." (Fifteen)
Doesn’t really sound like something that aligns with most religious text right? Nothing like some sort of message about how God loves everyone and everything on Earth because it’s all his creation. It feels like a more scientific or matter of a fact way of saying it doesn’t matter if he’s originally human or not. I think he realized why he wasn’t able to reassure Verlaine that he wasn’t human and so he reflected and broke out of the mindset he’d been fed by his organization. He loses his religious mindset too when that happens.
I point out how this excerpt lacks any religious undertone because Rimbaud has previously spoken in a religious manner before. At the end of his notebook he wrote,
“Tomorrow, at the enemy base. I would gladly walk through any hell for my partner‘s sake. So as long as there is a god in the heavens, this bond in my heart, and a future within reach.” (Stormbringer)
He seems to be or have been a religious man. I believe there are some panels from the fifteen manga where he looks like he’s praying almost when fighting Dazai and Chuuya.
Anyways I’d like to see what other people think about this or if there is anything anyone else would like to add. This isn’t super organized or anything so hopefully I explained things well enough. I know I’ve seen someone say they think Rimbaud has Catholic guilt specifically, but I don’t know much about Catholicism so I can’t really comment on that (I was raised Protestant).
I could totally add more to this and do some more analysis if I wanted, but that would take awhile and I just wanted to at least introduce the idea that Rimlaine could be interpreted this way.
Ok toot-a-loo 👋
Evolution is something normal. Change is one of the only certain things in a person's life. People change, things change, times change, everything changes. That's the way life is. I'd love to claim that I'm a person that fears nothing, and yet the slight notice of changes in my life terrifies me.
Changes, physical and mental ones, character development are all normal for a teen, everybody expieriances that, and yet watching myself change through the years is terribly scary.
I've seen myself in one too many characters while playing TWST. Maybe that is why I love that game, why I love its writting, I can relate to one too many people.
Like most nerds, Idia is a character I deeply relate to. Not just for his nerdiness but for deeper reasons, stuff that had me adoring the boy since the beginning. At this point I'm convinced most fans do, it's nothing special, nothing worth enough elaborate on.
Then, the next one that I would say I feel to my bones is Cater, or so I would have said if I was asked a couple years ago. I don't normally concider myself as a changed person, I think I've been the same for as long as I can remember. And yet I no longer act the way he does, not quite. Looking back to middle school I used to be exactly the kind of person he is, no difference to be identified, but looking at myself now I am hardly anything like him anymore.
By now, I suppose people would see me more like Leona, or Floyd I'd say, maybe a mix of both men. Maybe that change is for the best, Cater would be better off not being a people pleaser anymore, not putting that facade on and letting his troubles spill out for once, but is it really? Like Leona the moodiness is something that others find irritating if anything, the straight forwardness and lack of care just plain rudeness from my part, and the changes of mood unpredictable and annoying to no end.
It's not their job to understand the reason for that change, even I am not aware of it. Looking back I wonder what chnaged, and where did I wonder off my way to end up like this but nothing correct comes to mind. And I'm left to wonder with no answer satisfactory enough to ease my mind.
Do people like this more? They can't possibly, and what little of the Cater-like side of me is still there knows it, but the rest cannot be bothered enough to do anything about it. I just look back, noticing things change one by one, little by little, confusing the hell out of me till I no longer know what to do with myself.
So starting book 7 felt like the twist of a knife that was already stabbed in me. Malleus was never a character I was really fond of. Not because of any actions that I do not approve of but simply because he didn't interest me enough. Nevertheless, watching his reactions to Lilia's intention of leaving, his thoughts and the pain that came along with the long wave of sadness that washed over him, those chapters had me staring at the screen through tears. He didn't want things to change. he didn't want to lose something that was dear to him, and I felt his pain to my core. For some reason he finally felt more real to me.
Writting this is most likely something that Cater would have done. Writting down angsty thoughts and feelings in hope of getting everything out, and a part of me wants to cling onto that feeling, the comfort of the way my younger self would act, refusing to accept the changes I'm going through, the changes I've been through.
It's scary seeing things around me involve so much, because everything and everyone are involving one way or another, but it feels like I'm the only one who doesn't. Things change but not for the best, but for some unknown reason, or maybe for none at all, I can't seem to figure out. I simply find myself desparatly trying to find a way to to stop things from changing, because accepting that simple fact, accepting that there is nothing I can do leaves me defenseless.
Maybe deciding on my biggest TWST kinnie isn't a good thing to attempt after all
From all the bsd characters, I never expected I'd see myself in Arthur Rimbaud.
Though I loved the man, his behavior never had anything similar to mine. His quietness, or the way he spoke, his beliefs and the things he liked were never even remotely close to my characteristics.
Yet again, you were never anything close to Verlaine. You shared no thing with the man, not in personality, and nor in your actions.
I saw us in other ships, I still think of you and I in many, but Rimlaine was simply not it.
Its been almost two years though, almost two years since you broke whatever it was that we had off, and the more I see them, the more they remind me of us.
Did we ever have the dynamic they had? No we did not.
But thinking back to the things you told me, I feel just as much of a fool as I'm sure Rimbaud did.
"You simply dont understand."
Thats what you told me back then
"You really tried, but you dont understand me, not really"
Those words still haunt me. I tried to understand, I did my best, and for just a little I was sure I did, but you proved me wrong.
I tried comforting you and failed, I tried sharing your suffering to make you feel better but it was all useless.
You still think of me, you say.
You've forgiven me, you say.
But things cannot go back to how they were, not ever. And I'm simply left behind thinking of how much of a foolish kid I was back then, thinking that I could understand what you felt, even to the slightest degree, knowing I only made you feel worse than you did before.
"You're my Dazai and I'm your Chuuya"
A simple sentence that you voice as if it's nothing. You smile as you say so, the light in your eyes making my heart skip a beat.
Just like Chuuya, you're too caring for your own good. You put everyone else first instead, leaving yourself last. You do your best to help everyone, no matter what they might have done to you previously. I don't understand such acts of kindness and yet that's what I find so beautiful about you. Just like Chuuya you might act confident, and yet you think so little of yourself. Letting me see those insecurities is a gift I don't deserve. You get angry easily, it's the only way you know to deal with your emotions, and yet instead of hurting others you take it all out on yourself, not to hurt your body, but just so you can let that anger go, trying no to do so to anyone who's not to blame. You are so beautiful even at moment you think you look anything but that, your smile and that look on your eyes makes me want to just stare at you for hours to no end, doing nothing but admiring.
And just like you said, I am your Dazai. Just like him, I can act severely selfishly. I say words harsher than they should have been and do things that, though I was sure were for the best, ended up hurting those around me. I do not appreciate all that I have until all things dear to me are lost. I will hurt myself, and be the most self-destructive version of me possible, but unlike you, I do so for the pain that comes with it. I find comfort in my misery to the point of dragging people down with me. No matter how I act or what I say, you know better than to believe that I've been getting better, and yet you still won't let go of me. You are still here, though I do not deserve you in the slightest. You carry on by my side and will always do until I hurt you. And after that, you will find a way to come close to me again. That's the kind of person you are. And I'm the kind of person so weak that'll let you come back, knowing I'm nothing but bad for you.
"We have the Soukoku dynamic"
You like Chuuya, relating to him somehow comforts you, knowing other people feel like you do, that you are, after all, human.
I hate Dazai. I want nothing to do with that man. His whole existence disgusts me, seeing someone so much like me disgusts me.
But when you look at me with that expression on your face, I cannot help but smile back at you, making a silly comment in return.

I dislike Dazai
I dislike his stupid jokes and his silly behaviour. I dislike how he acts as if he is superior to most other or how he treats them. The way he sees life or his stupid jokes about killing himself makes me hate him. The fact that he sees no reason to be or sees no meaning in this life makes me hate him. The amount of value he gives his own life make me hate him. I hate how relatable he is.
Dazai always found comfort in Sakunosuke Oda and Kunikida Doppo. He trusted both greatly. I hate how fond I feel of those two characters.
He felt saved when next to those two men, as if he had finally seen that small light by the end of the tunnel, a reason to exist, even if just for a little longer. I hate how much he values them even if he had lost all hope in humanity before getting close to them. I hate how I find myself trying to get attached with someone that way.
These two men saved Dazai, they both looked after him, cared about him lots. I hate how I cannot find someone to save me like they saved him..
“Don't call me a Kunikida Kinnie„
But you are. You have your goals in life, you know what you want and what you need to do, what is the best to do. You have your ideals and you follow them strictly, if something gets in the way and it's wrong, if it feels wrong, you end it.
And I'm your Dazai, I'm here, knowing that I don't do all things I should, that I don't make the right decisions. Knowing how wrong all the things I do are and how they will end up hurting both of us. I'm here to try my best just to see that it was never enough, that the progress I thought I was making was false and that we were doomed from the very beginning.
You will try to keep things right and friendly, not make each other even sader and all I will be doing is answering as if I'm fine knowing that I will scream at myself for all the things I did wrong the very same night, without you ever listening them. And I will end up thinking that even if I thought things were different this time, they weren't, that I lost you just like I lost every single thing in my life I ever loved. That it was all my fault for not being good enough for you and that I will cry my eyes out when being alone just to have the power to put a smile on my face and say “im fine„ when someone walkes pass me, or asks me how I am. I will keep thing friendly between us just because I don't want to let go of you, even if I have to, knowing that we were just not meant to be...
Do you think Sherlock writes songs for Liam on the violin?
He definitely does! In NY he was trying for days to find something he like but nothing was good enough for his Liam. So after a long time he found something he finally liked!
Liam wasn't at home and he could come back that night so he was waiting for him exited for him Liam to listen his new song.
It was too late when Liam opened the front door. Sherlock was napping but he quickly woke up when he heard Liam getting in.
"Sherly hey... Sorry I woke you up" "It's okay, I was waiting for you" "Waiting for me why?" "I wrote a new song and I wanted your opinion" "Okay I'm listening"
He sat on the couch as Sherlock got up and started playing. Liam was looking at him smiling.
When Sherlock finished Liam clapped his hands smiling. "So? How was it?" "Beautiful Sherly..." "You actually like it?" "Of course I do!" "Good cause I wrote this for you..."
Liam looked at him shocked but he smiled again. He got up, kissed the other man's cheek and said "It was a big day, I'll see you tomorrow right?" "O-of c-course" "Good night Sherly" he finally said as he left the room smiling.
Fuck Sherly and Liam's fall, just think of how Louis's reaction could have been while watching his brother dying. I imagine it like that:
The blond man was looking at his brother who was ready to fall, thankfully Sherlock was holding him but his arm. He still had hope that he could hug and talk to his brother again but all these thoughts disappeared when suddenly his brother hurt Sherlock with his sword and started falling. Sherlock fall with him. The blond was looking at his brother slowly coming closer and closer to his death unable to do anything. He just stood there watching. A tear fall from bis eye and then another and another. He then just fall to the ground and cried for the brother he just lost. Sebastian was holding him in his arms trying to make his stop crying even though he was crying too. The young male couldn't stop neither crying nor screaming at Sherlock even though Sherlock was too long gone to hear him. "YOU PROMISED! YOU PROMISED YOU'D SAVE HIM! YOU BASTARD, YOU SAID YOU WOULDN'T LET HIM DIE BUT YOU LIED!" While Sebastian was trying to calm both him and himself. "Shh... Everything is going to be fine... We'll get over it..."

Why the fuck does Milverton look like this:
He looks so bloody hot and handsome when he is just an asshole with such a discussing personality and sick believes!
Please we need to talk about this picture!
• First we have William just having the book in his hand, not something really weird.
•Then it's Albert who does the same but a bit more kinky.
• Third one is Louis who is just normal reading, like everyone else should do! (Still looks hot though!)
• Moran is just doing whatever shit he's thinking about because I don't think he could ever sit to read a book.
• Sherlock does not know exactly what to do so he is kind doing whatever like Moran.
• And John looks like a kid who's reading his favourite book and wants to show you some pictures in it!
Still mad Fred isn't there though :/
