Hi! You can call me Grey and my pronouns are they/them :) This is a blog for hero and villain prompts because I love them. Feel free to write something based off my prompts and I'd love to be tagged in it. Submissions open but will NOT be written up, just posted. T&Cs can be found using #terms and conditions. If you send a continuation request please post the link with it or comment on the post. This is a side blog that got a lot more attention than I was expecting. My main is silverinkgoldenquill.
Surprise, I still exist. This.. is not what I expected to write at all today but I'm going to go for it because I miss my tumblr days and I do miss this place.
It's been⌠literal years since I made this tumblr, and a lot has changed since I first started. I grew up, got a job, got ambushed by gender, got engaged, got a black cat (he's called Boo) and Iâve been finding myself more and more as time has gone on. This blog is the reason I have the new legal name that I do- it's how I even met my wonderful fiancĂŠe, so yeah, this is something very close to me.
I just never expected MorallyGreyPrompts to get as big as it did and I didn't have enough brain wrinkles or time to keep it going. I burned out after pushing myself to write so much and I admittedly lost the joy of writing as it became less of a hobby and more of a chore as asks and requests came in. Then once work became a thing, I just couldn't keep it going and I can't restart it.
Look, MorallyGreyPrompts, isn't coming back. I know myself well enough to know I won't ever get around to organising it, going through the ask box and committing to writing like I used to. That doesn't mean I've stopped writing though, and one story that was inspired by one of my very first concepts is still kicking, again, very different from the first time I tried, but I think it's going to be better and worth the effort. There's plenty more stories waiting for me to get a wiggle on and actually write them and I certainly plan to.
I work 4 or 5 days a week to try to earn enough money for transitioning, so I don't have as much free time as I used to, but I miss writing, and Iâm in the process of making a new tumblr to start again. It's not going to be daily, certainly not til I'm more ready to advertise my stories. But I like writing poems, drabbles, practice pieces, and short stories from time to time for me. Maybe I'll do hero and villain requests, but it's not going to be the same. Maybe I'll do commissions of sorts but it's not something I've looked into or can guarantee I'll do.
So, yeah, I'm poking my head through the door that is tumblr once more and we'll see where it gets me. This will probably be the last post on this Tumblr, and I'll be moving to @amorallygreywriter over the next few days.
I just want to say thank you to everyone that has supported me, commented, followed, and helped me all this time. I won't be deleting this blog or anything like that because I hope it does still bring some inspiration to you all.
Happy writing and maybe I'll see you on my new tumblr.

I'm donating a lot of my hair to a charity to make wigs for children. The money raised will enable them to actually make the wigs and fund research for kinder cures. I won't be shaving but it's still a significant chop since its about 40cm of hair.
There's no pressure to donate but I thought I would share this anyway in the hopes of raising some money
Aaaaand my hair is gone. đą It's not too late to donate if you'd like. I ended up with an 18inch long hair donation so that's even more than I'd first planned. đ

Villain was surprised when their most trusted henchman came up to them with a nervous expression on their face.
âWhat is it?â Villain asked.
âWeâve found and captured [Hero].â
Villain raised an eyebrow. âThatâs a good thing... why the apprehension?â
Henchman pursed their lips. âTheyâre... sick, but we canât figure out why.â
Villain had a feeling they knew what was wrong. âHave they said anything?â
âNo, they can barely speak, they arenât moving. We found them on a patrol and literally had to just scrape them up. No wounds, no fever, nothing to explain it.â
Villain frowned. âLet me go and see. Perhaps I can find a way to help.â
Villain found them tied down on the bed, their breathing raspy, barely even existent. Villain studied their still body for a while, judging, assessing. They knew Heroâs secret. They were one of very few if not the only one who knew. They were a vampire, and judging by the state of them, they were beyond starving.
Villain sat down on the side of their bed. âWhat trouble have you gotten yourself into?â they mumbled. Villain looked behind them to see their Henchman still standing.
âGive us a minute. I think I need a word with our dear hero.â
Henchman raised their hands in mock surrender and left Villain to it. They were good like that. They never asked too many questions, they trusted Henchman completely. Villain turned their attention back to Hero and carefully tilted their head to the side. âYouâd better give me a very good explanation after this...â Villain rolled up their sleeve and offered Hero their exposed wrist. Hero managed a groan, but they didnât bite.
Villain pressed their wrist against Heroâs lips, waiting patiently until they finally lashed out in a sudden movement. Villain grunted and closed their eyes tight, battling their urge to snatch their hand away. But they waited, and soon the pain faded off while Hero fed. Villain stroked their hair carefully and waited until they could move, until they had enough to reach forward and try to grab more. Villain waited for as long as they dared before taking their hand away and pressing a handkerchief tight against the wound. The bleeding would stop soon thanks to Heroâs saliva, but they couldnât afford to lose much more blood.
âIâm sorry,â Hero rasped, licking their lips. âI...â
âYou needed it,â Villain answered flatly. âThough how Iâm going to explain this is going to be a difficult thing indeed.â
âIâd been trying to find you, but I didnât have long... [Other Villain] had kept me locked up. [Villain], they know my secret a.and I donât know what to do.â
Villain continued to stroke their hair. âIâll see what I can do. But for now, you need to rest.â
âSo do you,â Hero answered weakly. âThat... that was a lot. Iâm sorry...â
âDonât worry about it, but after this, we are even, you understand?â
Villain invents a lock which cannot be opened with a master key. People eagerly buy the locks for everything, doors, windows, protecting their valuables, not knowing they are behind it, or that Villain made the lock design so one single key that they own works to get through. It's the perfect scheme, leaving them rich and able to open almost any door they come across.

I would love to explain how I fell off the face of the planet again but alas I have no explanation. Blame work and my hyperfixation on my cloudwalker series.
Anyway, hereâs the next BTHB:
Chained To A Wall
Characters: Hero, Villain, and Supervillain
Warnings; Contains kidnapping, threats, and a knife wound and descriptions of blood, nudity (top half, not sexual).
Hero woke with a pained groan, keeping their eyes closed as they used to the aches and twinges of pain in their body. But why pain? What had happened? It was all so faint and blurred.
With a hiss, Hero slowly opened their eyes, wincing as the light met their eyes and stung. They groaned again, but what surprised them was that it kept going even when theyâd stopped. They strained to look up, and that was when they saw Villain chained to the wall, dangling down by their arms. Heroâs eyes widened. â[V.Villain]?â they croaked, trying to step towards them. It was only then they realised they were tied the same way.
â[V.Villain]?â they tried again, a little louder this time.
âHuh,â they mumbled. âOh⌠right⌠I remember.â
Hero managed to get their feet under them, grimacing with the pain. â[Villain], what happened?â
Villainâs eyes snapped open and they glared at Hero. âYou really donât remember your sheer stupidity that got us locked up here?â
âWell, if I did, I wouldnât have asked,â Hero shot back. âAnd I doubt that I was stupid, more like you were doing something you shouldnât have been.â
Villain gritted their teeth. âYou canât even remember and still you fucking blame me!â
âYes, yes I do!â Hero retorted. âNow please just tell me.â
Villain grumbled and looked away, âYou wouldnât listen to me. I told you to stand down, and we could have avoided this. I told you it wasnât safe!â
Hero was quiet for a moment, letting some memories drip back into their mind. âYou did not make it sound like that at all,â Hero grunted. âI was trying to arrest you, wasnât I?â
âYes, I was stealing, but then Iâd realised it was a set up and you wouldnât listen to my warnings,â Villain said. They sighed and looked down. âNow weâre here.â
Hero bit their lip before they also looked away, âNow weâre here...â they mumbled. âWhere⌠is here?â
âWeâre being held here by [Supervillain],â Villain said. âSo donât expect a smooth ride. This isnât going to end well.â
Hero swore under their breath. âWhat about [Heroâs Sidekick] and [Villainâs Sidekick]?â
Villain shrugged. âIâm not getting my hopes up.â
Hero sighed and looked away. They pondered apologising, but they also feared it would sound insincere, forced. Villain didnât seem to care if the conversation continued or not.
It didn't matter. The door opened with an eerie creak, a cry of a warning before Supervillain sauntered in.
âAwake at last? Excellent. I thought you two might be growing bored, so I decided we could play a game.â
âUntie me so I can beat the shit out of [Hero] and Iâll be entertained enough,â Villain grunted. âWhatâs going on, [Supervillain]? I donât recall any beef with you.â
Supervillain revealed a sinister knife. âNo, itâs true we have no qualms. I suppose one of us has to start somewhere.â
Supervillain pressed the blade against Villainâs shoulder and began to dig in. Hero tensed their jaw, seeing the thin line of blood that slipped down their shoulder.
âMy game is perfectly simple. One of you is going to suffer, the other gets to watch. Exciting, right?â
âThrilling,â Villain ground out through gritted teeth.
Supervillain smirked and yanked the blade away. âBut thereâs one last twist. You both get to choose who suffers? The cityâs saviour? The scum that crawls in the gutters? Fail to come to a decision, and I will hurt both of you. Who wants the knife?â
âMe,â Hero and Villain said at the same time.
Supervillain burst out laughing. âOh, this is precious.â
â[Villain], no. This is my fault, I deserve this. You tried to warn me-â
âAnd youâre the hero, youâre the good person. The city needs you, they donât need me.â
Hero growled. âSince when did you care about the city? Why are you protecting me?â
âBecause I deserve this- for everything. Now for fuckâs sake, [Supervillain], get to it! Hurt me, make me bleed, make me scream, see how long it takes you to make me give a shit!â
Supervillain swiftly set to work, removing Villainâs shirt and using years worth of skill to draw the best cries and whimpers from Villainâs lips. Blood, like the ribbons of a dancer, glided effortlessly down Villainâs body until it dripped lifelessly on the floor beneath them. Supervillain savoured the sight. Hero closed their eyes, but every time they did, Supervillain hurt Villain more, forcing them to watch, to have no choice to take it all in.
But Hero just couldnât dangle from their chains and endure this. This wasnât fair! This was their fault!
âLeave them alone!â Hero cried. âHurt me! Please, just leave them alone, please! Please hurt me instead!â
â[H.Hero]... no,â Villain groaned weakly, their head hanging limp against their chest.
Hero gulped but didnât back down. They were meant to be a hero. They couldnât let someone else take the blame for their mistake.
Supervillain chuckled. âOh, this is going to be fun.â

Hero had found Villain to be rather stressed over the last few days. Turned out it was the annual agency visit at their base to rate their standards/level of villainy. Villain asks Hero to let them âkidnapâ them to help boost their score.
(After the hero said yesâŚand after the inspectors checked around and the hero escaped surely after the inspectors inspected the heroâs holding cell, Now in the villainâs main room, after reviewing everything)
Inspector: I am so sorry villain but your score is- *they suddenly look up and behind the villain* above last years! Impressive!
Villain: what? But it sounded like you were about to fail-
(the second inspector cut the villain off)
Inspector 2: no no no ofcourse not! Your lair isâŚ.uhâŚ.um amazing! Yes totally!
Inspector 3: yes! YouâŚ.you totally passed with flying colors!
(The villain was confusedâŚuntil they followed the inspectorâs gaze till they saw hero pushing a sign up against the window! The sign read âgive villain a good score or else I will burn your evil lair down and I know where it is!â)
Villain; I cant believe Iâm saying this⌠but hero! No!
Hero: well I CANT BELIEVE Iâm saying this⌠but hero! Yes!
(The villain facepalmed and tried to hide a blushâŚthe hero wasnt going to let their villain get replaced THAT easily!)
Hero had found Villain to be rather stressed over the last few days. Turned out it was the annual agency visit at their base to rate their standards/level of villainy. Villain asks Hero to let them âkidnapâ them to help boost their score.
â[Hero] I am begging you! Just for a single day! I swear I wonât do anything to you! Just sit in a cell for like 2 hours and look mad!â [Villain] pleaded,
âThis is the worst ploy for a kidnapping I have ever heard.â [Hero] crossed their arms, scowling at [Villain], who was on their knees.
âCome on [Hero]! If I donât get a rank 8 on this inspection, Iâll get moved! This is a rank 6 city, and my last inspection was a rank 4!â
âNone of what you just said makes any goddamn sense!â [Hero] hissed.
âIt means Iâll get kicked out of the city for not being villainous enough! But having a hero kidnapped at the time of inspection, thatâs an automatic plus 2âŚâ [Villain] trailed off as they saw the annoyed incomprehension cross [Hero]âs face again, âIt looks really good!â they corrected.
[Hero] continued to scowl at them before finally grumbling,
âIf I do this⌠No schemes for a month.â
âI swear!â [Villain] immediately agreed.
âAnd Iâm breaking out the second you try anything shady!â [Hero] added, [Villain] frantically nodded their head. [Hero] threw their head back, a long annoyed sigh resonating deep in their throat.
I don't even know what to say aside from I love this! Hero has the chance to get rid of Villain but instead they help them! Villain was so desperate- I hope they get that grade 8. đ

Hero had found Villain to be rather stressed over the last few days. Turned out it was the annual agency visit at their base to rate their standards/level of villainy. Villain asks Hero to let them âkidnapâ them to help boost their score.
Warnings: Contains kidnapping, keeping a person a trophy/pet, beatings, and putting a person on display
Villain collapsed down on their knees, battered and exhausted. Hero had finally gotten the better of them. Theyâd found new power, found a way to stop their own. Villain had been so sure that they could finally put an end to this fight, that they could win, that the years of struggling for their cause would be worth it.
Now they were on all fours with Hero fast approaching. They snarled and tried to get back up on shaking legs, but Hero grabbed them by their hair and drove their knee up into their face and threw them back down. Villain fell with a thump and wheezed.
âSo n.now what?â they managed. âPrison?â
Hero smirked, and it filled Villain with dread. They tried to summon their powers once more, but there was nothing. âMuch better than that. I convinced authorities I would be the only one whoâd be able to contain you. To keep you out of trouble, and of course, being the [Hero] I am, youâd be well looked after.â
Villainâs stomach writhed with unease. Goosebumps rose on their skin. âThatâs not happening,â they ground out.
Hero swooped forward and grabbed them by the hair again. âYes, it is.â They yanked hard, making Villain bring their hands up to try to pry them off, giving Hero the chance to loop one of the shackles onto their wrist. From there, they dragged their arm behind their back, pinned them to the floor, and secured their other wrist.
âI will kill you for this,â Villain panted.
âIf you can get free. Donât worry, Iâll take good care of you. Youâre my greatest trophy, my finest achievement. Iâve stopped you, and now youâre mine,â Hero purred.
Villain shuddered. âYouâre even worse than me,â they mumbled.
Hero turned them over and held them by the throat. âItâs more than you deserve.â
Villain snarled, they knew there was no getting out of this, but it didnât stop them trying to lash out. Hero was prepared, and a sudden jolt of electrical power made Villain yelp and stop their struggles. They hated this so much.
Hero began to squeeze, and Villain panicked, desperately trying to get them off, doing whatever they could, which only earned them more painful zaps. They tried to whimper, knowing Hero wasnât going to let go until they passed out, perhaps worse. Their lip parted to try to draw sweet air but there was nothing.
âNap time,â Hero smirked, and then there was nothing.
Villain woke in a bright room, laying on their back. They groaned and sat up, pausing when they realised they were in shackles, gold-plated ones at that. They frowned, struggling to fit all the pieces together in their mind. Theyâd been with HeroâŚ
They gulped. Oh⌠Right⌠Hero had claimed them. Villain was their prisoner now, a spoil of war, a trophy, perhaps even a pet. They didnât know where Hero would draw the line.
They stood on shaky legs and tried to use their powers out of curiosity, but yet again, nothing happened. Villainâs best guess was that theyâd included the power blocker in the shackles or golden bars of their cage.
Villain made to put their hands in their pockets, but realised when they looked down they were even in different clothes. Dressed up just as Hero wanted. Villain curled up their lip in disgust. They couldnât wait to escape and get the hell out of here. Theyâd give up their goals, fair enough, and go into hiding, but they were not staying here.
They heard footsteps and turned around to see Hero smirking.
âYouâre awake. You like your pretty cage?â
âObviously not, creep. Let me go, this is ridiculous.â
âYouâre going to be here for the rest of your days if I have anything to say about it.â
âThen shut up, and let me go,â Villain retorted.
âOn your knees in the middle of the cell. Iâll have some guests over shortly, and I intend to make sure youâre ready for them.â
Villain wasnât going to obey their every order, but Hero wasnât going to wait. There was a cog at either side of the cage. They smirked and pulled on them, shortening the chains, leaving Villainâs arms outstretched. Hero smirked and opened the door of the cage. Villain tried to step back out of instinct but got nowhere. Hero suddenly lashed out, beating Villain around the face and head. Villain couldnât do anything about it. They couldnât defend themselves.
Hero continued until they were out of breath and Villain was on the floor, only being held up by their arms.
Villain couldnât stop Hero from securing their legs to the floor, from gagging them with a bit gag and blindfolding them. They tried to whisper a plea but it was ignored. Hero had the decency to give them a little more chain, so their arms werenât almost coming out of the sockets, but it was still uncomfortable.
Hero chuckled and slapped Villainâs cheek a few times. âGet used to your new life. On show for everyone to see, for me to do what the hell I want. Oh, [Villain] if only you knew how sweet victory tasted.â
Villain shuddered, already struggling with drool, struggling to stay conscious because of the beating which no doubt had left them covered in bruises.
âOur first guests will be here soon, I do hope you enjoy yourself.â
Villain tried to scream at them, but then they heard the door shut. They were left alone to their suffering.
