“I hope you die red”
I feel like i want to do detailed lore or at least right out the story hear but its so unpolished idk
“Make it now so you can make it good later”
I could probably just drop the lore based on the picture but idk idk idk
This gif is just xinmo’s introduction to the “story”, (he’s not evil its just perception)
The things to note with this “story” are the following concepts (in order of importance)(definitions from Pinterest-cause i live there- and google cause yes)
Being-for-Others - existing as you appear in someone else’s consciousness (so be wary of the perception of others and how they are presented cause it might just be them through someone else- the same goes for certain events :) )
Chekhov's gun - an apparently irrelevant object, character, or detail introduced early in a story, film, etc., whose significance only becomes clear later in the narrative (everything shown has meaning- even absence has meaning)
Panoptic Awareness - the sense of being watched even when no watcher is visible (similar to the ‘being-for-others’ everyone is being watch, their actions interpreted and their self concept constantly wavering- like a double consciousness - shout out to Du Bois)
Playing house (the person responsible for the panoptic awareness is the one playing house)
Monachopsis - the subtle but persistent feeling of being out of place (eg a polar bear in the desert or a nun in prison) // (everyone in the story kind of fit this because none of them are where they are supposed to be because they were made to play house)
Boiling frog - the boiling frog is an apologue describing a frog being slowly boiled alive (basically if a frog is put suddenly into boiling water it will jump out but if the frog is put in tepid water which is then brought to a boil slowly, it will not perceive the danger and will be cooked to death) // (describes everyone - even the one who made the house)
Anagnorisis - the point in the plot, especially of a tragedy, at which the protagonist recognizes his or her or some other character's true identity or discovers the true nature of his or her own situation (when the house breaks down- note the poem ‘Ash’)
Sin eater - someone who consumes the sins of nobles and criminals (or people in general) , taking on their guilt (in exchange for payment… sometimes wink wink) // (this is/was xinmo)
The world, the flesh, and the devil - "implacable enemies of the soul"
Salvific - leading to salvation (applied multidimensional)
The poem Ash by Tracy Smith
Judas goat - a trained goat used in general animal herding., it is trained to associate with sheep or cattle leading them to a specific destination In stockyards, a Judas goat will lead sheep to slaughter while its own life is spared (applies to the “son” in the house who does so unknowingly)
N/B i like words a lot so you’ll see me use a lot of terms - sometime to the point of semantic fog but i cant help it
you can also guess who applies to which role as i post - I’ll probably still say it in the post (maybe)
