171219 Daesung: What I want now is…

Daesung was mistaken for GD in Hawaii. Later, someone correctly recognized him as D-LITE from BIGBANG but he said he’s G-Dragon instead. G-D-get your crayooon /lmfao

Daesung was asked today what his most fun memory w/ the members is and he talked abt that time they all went to Hawaii for work a while ago. 3 of the members had to leave early because of work but he and GD stayed 3 more days. Daesung said that, just like GD described it on IG, it was like a honeymoon. They were together the whole time, went everywhere together. Even their conversations were like a couple’s 😂 “Wahh, this view is so nice, right?” “This is delicious, isn’t it?” “Why don’t we take a picture tgt?” Those were his happiest days, he said.

Another question was what he’d do if one day he suddenly woke up as Seungri. Dae said that there are many films where sth like that happens so if he knew that the change would last just one day he would definitely go back to sleep right away! He’d sleep all day, 24 hours! 😂 💦 Then he replied more seriously and explained that Seungri is really really busy. In BIGBANG he said GD and Seungri are the busiest members. Apparently Seungri spent one year researching and studying about ramen and going back and forth to Japan, most of the times on the same day. He said that Seungri is always in meetings, or having meetings on the phone. Daesung said that he can’t but admire him for all his hard work. Daesung said that he doesn’t like to be that kind of busy, he needs to be able to see the world arnd him. So if he had to live as Seungri he’d work hard and try his best at ramen and DJ'ing, but he doesn’t think that he can do it (work hard SR style) for more than 3 years.

Daesung also joked that “Seungri’s main job is now business while singing has become his hobbie” 😅 💦

Another question was what kind of songs he enjoys singing the most. Daesung said that he always feels good singing trot-style songs. Daesung explained that both his parents really like trot so he grew up listening to it and his body easily gets into its mood/rhythm. That’s why he has the most fun on stage when he sings songs like Nalbwa Gwisoon or Furui Nikki, he said.

Daesung said that the members are so busy that they don’t have time to meet but the 5 of them keep in touch through their chatroom ❤︎

Seungri’s 13th Aori Ramen branch has just opened but Daesung knew exactly that Aori has 13 branches, 11 in Korea and 2 in Japan. He said Seungri has spent about a year doing research, including many 1-day-trips to Japan to taste different sorts of ramen and study. “He’s really good at that. I couldn’t do it.” He said that’s why the ramen is so good (he kept saying how good it is) and Aori so successful.

I knew this a really long time ago… but somehow I feel, that I have to tell you this story. maybe because Daesung talked about it? here is what he said recently:

TOP visited junk yard to take Daesung’s personal things and then he visited Daesung’s house, but didn’t come in. 

authorized persons say that the tallest BIGBANG member have visited junk yard with YG Staff. k-news 

TOP visited Daesung’s family house during his recovery, but TOP couldn’t meet Daesung, because he hesitated to go into the house. 

so, I know, these details are nothing special, but my heart was broken at the same moment when I read it, cause I realized, that TOP saw destroyed car not just in news, and the fact, that here is only 2 new details and I already lost myself in thoughts… I mean no matter how many times vips are talking about what BIGBANG went through — we will never actually understand how hard it was for them to become who they are, even if we know something. 

Daesung told us today that Seungri flew to Las Vegas around a month ago, he thinks, to watch the Mayweather vs. McGregor superfight and if we watch videos of the fight we’ll probably be able to spot him cheering in super hyper mode 😂 And things like these are what make Daesung want to become Seungri (but just for one day, as a trial 😂). SR is the most “world star” of the 5. Some fans asked Daesung if he wouldn’t want to become GD but he said no cause GD is way too busy and too famous. He just wants to be famous to a certain degree but not too famous or too busy cause he doesn’t like that kind of life 😂

Btw, when Daesung was talking abt that boxing fight and explaining a bit abt the two contenders it seemed like he knows about boxing 😮 Maybe he learned it from Seungri 🤣

Daesung was asked how he’d like to raise his kids and he explained that his dad was very strict and beat him almost every day. He thinks he’ll also be a strict father in the future. He also mentioned that just the thought of raising a daughter stresses him a lot. He thinks that the world is a very dangerous place and he wouldn’t know how to teach her/protect her from the outside world. He even asked a dad in the audience (whose wife & 17y.o daughter were also there) what he’ll do when she has a bf. Will he trust her? The dad said yes.

Daesung has talked abt his dad being strict and beating him quite a few times in his Dna Show events. He blames himself and his bad grades. He always explains that his sister was a good student and he was just good at sports so his bad grades stood out even more in comparison 😅

Another topic he mentions often is his serious car accident back in 2009. It seems like it was a very important turning point in his life 😢 Today he mentioned it twice: First to explain why he thinks that the waist/hip is the most important part of the body. He said that when he had the accident he hurt his waist/hip and he could barely move for a long time.That’s when he realized that without a healthy waist a person can’t do much. (A guy on first row agreed with Daesung on the hip being the most important body part for a man and Daesung asked him to explain why he thought so. The fan first just answered “At night” and Daesung pretended to not understand what he meant 😂 Daesung acted all innocent & cute saying that he doesn’t know abt those things 🙄 😂 So he made him elaborate & the fan added “Bcuz we’re human.” Daesung replied “Ah right! If we don’t move our waist/hips at night mankind will disappear, right?” 🙊 😂 Daesung thought that the guy’s explanation made total sense and even shook hands with him 😂

The second time he mentioned his accident he was answering a question abt what he prioritizes when he’s troubled or needs to decide abt sth. He said that before when he was a trainee and early after BIGBANG’s debut he used to decide things based on what was best for others or what was expected of his image. He also thought back then that he had many flaws, blamed himself whenever sth didn’t go well and always thought that he had to work harder and do better. But after the accident he realized that he doesn’t need to be perfect, that there are many fans who come to see him perform on stage and that in order to give love to others he needs to love and accept himself first 😭 So since the accident whenever he needs to decide sth he thinks first if that’s what HE wants to do & if it will benefit/help HIM in any way

I was so happy today to hear that Daesung finds it important that he himself enjoys his activities as well. He explained that he used to aim for perfect performances, aimed to be perfect himself and as a result he was never satisfied with his solo activities. But he realized that he has to accept his own flaws in order for others to accept them,because if he cannot love himself, he can’t be loved by others either and he can’t love others truly as well

A fan (TOPTOPTOP3111) met Daesung at a 7-11 store in Sapporo (after his concert) on Monday. She said he shook her hand. He was carefully selecting ice cream. (trans cr. mshinju)
