if you're not watching Love Beyond Dreams, what are you waiting for?
seriously, this series has not been talked about enough and that's such a shame because it's absolutely phenomenal! it has been one of those series i've been completely mesmerized with since the pilot and it has not disappointed - in fact, it has exceeded all my expectations 🥹
as a first gl from Me Mind Y, it has everything:
a well-written and engaging script that keeps you on your toes while weaving through beloved tropes (such as best friends to strangers to lovers, time reversal, threads of fate, the grumpy one & the sunshine one, etc.)
complex and interesting lead characters that can make you cry just as easily as they can have you giggling and kicking your feet
immaculate chemistry between the lead actresses (Mie Phattaranan and Aya Orapan) - genuinely, they're such a great pair and these characters fit them so well
great acting from the whole cast; i honestly cannot think of a single "weak" link in the cast - everyone is doing an amazing job and the acting has been stellar (from the comic relief side characters to the main cp, everyone's performance has been absolutely brilliant)
a gorgeous ost (aya's an extremely talented singer and her song has been on repeat on my playlist ever since they released it)
much like Heart Code, the series only has 7 episodes AND THAT'S ABSOLUTELY DEVASTATING 😭 we're already five eps in, so if you're gonna catch up, now is probably the best time, but strap in (no pun intended), it's gonna be a ride.
Synopsis: Twenty-one-year-old fresh graduate Aran had always believed her relationship with Lene, who is two years older, was more than just a sibling-like bond, until she received the cruelest rejection she could ever have imagined. In the end, she can only embrace her pain and fly abroad to continue her studies, hoping that one day she will be able to forget Lene. Then one day, a mysterious package arrives along with a handwritten letter. There is no name, but Aran recognizes the handwriting instantly. She decides to fly back to Thailand, determined to finally close this unresolved chapter. The moment she arrives, however, she is met with devastating news: Lene is dead. Ran can only carry her shattered heart to Lene's funeral, where she is forced to confront a truth that breaks her completely. Just as she's about to say her final goodbye, she overhears a conversation suggesting that Lene's death may have been caused by someone close to her. When she wakes up five years in the past, to the moments after her rejection, red thread from the funeral still in hand, she tells herself this time will be different. This time, she will be the one to protect Lene.
i tried to keep this post as short as i could so i've actually left out so many more great things i could say about it, but if you're looking for a recommendation on your next thai gl, i wholeheartedly propose you give this one a chance.
oh and, there's also a clown car that i've been driving around 'cause we have theories so feel free to jump in (there's always more room!) 🙃
