Jotaro is definitely autistic, I feel like this is a super common one but I think it’s true!
Jotaro is weird about fabric and texture, I feel that’s one of the reasons he wore his uniform throughout all of SDC (aside from anime logic, lol)
Hates coffee surprisingly. He prefers tea or a soda. He says it’s because the impacts on your health—like teeth stains, jitters, anxiety, or heartburn—but in reality it just is too bitter and hates it
Loves spicy food. He really loves the hot chips they sell in America but obviously doesn’t mind the Japanese ones either. Joseph will bring him some whenever he visits and has since he was younger.
Before his implied personality shift, he was very shy but very kind. Guys didn’t like him because he was overly gentle and also due to him being half American. girls, however, found him very sweet and endearing. He was most likely bullied at some point, which also contributed to him having this dramatic, sudden shift in his personality.
he def takes small bites of food out of habit. Despite being a ‘delinquent’, he was still raised to have manners and some things just became natural. He gets a bit grossed out when he see’s the other crusaders take obnoxiously large bits of food, especially when they practically have to fight the food to eat it..
Has a multistep skincare routine that makes his face baby-smooth while the rest of his body is scarred and bruised.
Cracks his jaw and fingers obsessively
Sometimes, when he thinks others aren’t looking, he makes faces behind their back because he’s a childish teenage boy. Every time he’s caught by one of the others, usually Polnareff, he gaslights the fuckkkkkk out of them
Accumulated a lot of jewlery while they traveled and put it all on. By the end of the trip, he was wearing 8 bracelets on each hand and an anklet.
Became a big fan of western/English music in Egypt because Joseph played dad rock in the car. He became a big fan of Simon & Garfunkel and folk music but also rock and roll like Led Zeppelin. His interest in western music stayed as he got older and was, obviously, a big fan of emo bands in the 2000’s and of grunge in the 90’s.
Is actually weirdly knowledgeable about American pop culture due to Holly and Joseph. Holly would talk about drama on the phone with her childhood friends and Jotaro was too interested to not know what Madonna was doing. With Joseph, he would watch westerns with Jotaro (where his canonical love of Clint Eastwood comes from) and often was quoting American movies to Jotaro or on the trip to Egypt. Every single reference was met by a ‘what are you talking about?’ (Usually from Jotaro), to which Joseph would drag whomever to watch the movie, as he talked the whole way through it.
Has a journal but writes in code because he would rather DIE than let someone know he actually felt emotions
Sometimes writes short stories on the road where it’s basically just all of the crusaders with slightly different names. Will throw the paper out of the window if anyone asks what he’s writing.
Has tried to get into sketching and drawing ever since star platinum drew that fly. He’s pretty good by the end of SDC but at the beginning it’s rough, which kind of stresses him out since he had always just naturally been good at everything he tried.
Despite being so disrespectful, unless a teacher is outwardly rude to him or annoys him, he makes a conscious effort to be kind to them after the events of SDC. Mostly because he realized what it’s like to have to deal with immature boys all day, every day.
Has bad allergies to cats and dogs fur. Refuses to take an allergy pill none the less and denies his allergies at all times, going as far as to rub Iggy on his face to prove his point. This later resulted in an extremely stuffy nose for a week. Kakyoin is the only one he told he had an allergy, to which he said everyone already knew.
Jotaro is extremely embarrassed of his regression but still slips almost every night during the trip.
Doesnt actually know what this ‘phenomenon’ is called due to the time period, but finds out in therapy either before or during part 4.
His regression is mostly reactionary and due to stress.
Had actually regressed before SDC and before his implied personality shift because of stress around his grades. He broke down and slipped for the first time and Holly helped him calm down and go to bed.
The only people who know at the beginning are Kakyoin, because he is Jotaros closest friend out of all the crusaders and usually who he shares a hotel room with, and Joseph, because Holly had told him of the fore-mentioned breakdown on the phone once. Eventually, though, word spreads throughout all the crusaders(because Joseph can’t shut his mouth to save his life). To Jotaros knowledge, however, only Kakyoin and his grandfather know.
Jotaro doesnt like to admit when he’s regressed and it usually has to be pried out of him in an emotional, dramatic fashion that ends with Jotaro crying and throwing a fit.
Doesnt intend to be bratty, but he grew up with a doting mother and a very privileged life, so he is a bit spoiled.
Doesnt understand and refuses to conceptualize not being able to have something he wants this second.
He isnt the kind of regressor that throws himself on the ground and screams, more so just breaks your heart by crying quietly about how disappointed he is or how sad he is or whatever. It usually works on Joseph, not usually on Kakyoin.
Needs a firm/more strict caregiver just because, being Jotaro, he likes a structure.
Regresses from 3-4 usually, can go older but it’s usually those ages.
If, for whatever reason, Jotaro regressed alone, star would be taking care of him.
Speaks very quietly while regressed
Despite being spoiled, he says both please and thank you and uses manners most of the time.
Doesnt really play but instead colors or watches TV often.
When he does play, it’s usually a lot of running, and asking whoever he’s with to catch him. Joseph hates this, Kakyoin doesnt mind since he has Hierophant.
Jotaro finds hierophant fun while regressed. Kakyoin will let him be thrown around or hung upside down with Hierophant.
His English is noticeably less fluent while regressed and mostly speaks Japanese, which is another reason why he prefers Kakyoins presence as a caregiver rather than Joseph.
Eats a lot of cheese and crackers while regressed. He isn’t sure why because he’s never had a particularly hard opinion on cheese and crackers either way but he likes them.
Doesnt get angry a lot while regressed. Sure, he’s emotional. But he’s usually just sad. When he is angry, he can’t even express it usually. Just the beginning letters of words before cutting himself off, stomping his foot, pointing around dramatically, huffing, and whining.
Actually loves bedtime and bath time because he gets to do literally nothing while he’s taken care of and doted on.
