so, i wrote a zarry ficlet (about 13000 words) and am trying to gather whether there would be any interest in the fic. hereβs an excerpt.
βIβm supposed to leave tomorrow.β
Harry looked up from his plate and raised a curious brow at Zayn. βWhat do you mean?β
βI think you know what I mean.β Zayn didnβt want to hurt Harryβs feelings, but he also didnβt want to beat around the bush. It was a conversation they needed to have.
Harry sighed and he put his fork down. βI donβt want you to go.β
Zayn stared at him in surprise.
βDonβt look so shocked,β Harry told him, βI thought it was obvious.β
Maybe it was. Maybe Harry tried to show him. Either way, Zayn needed to get back to the city. He had a life there and it was important to him. He wasnβt going to throw that all away to play house with Harry when he didnβt even know if he could count on him not to leave him in the morning.
βI donβt know, Harry.β Zayn shrugged. βI want to believe you, but itβs been what β two days? Maybe tomorrow youβll wake up and youβll have changed your mind.β
βAre you going to change your mind?β Harry asked him.
Zayn swallowed hard. The answer was no. How could he ever truly forget about the man he had loved since he was a kid who didnβt even know what the word meant?
βStay here with me,β Harry said when silence fell and Zayn didnβt answer the question.
Zayn gawked at him. βIβm supposed to drop everything I have in a place I love to live here with you?β
βYou love this place too,β Harry insisted.
βNo,β Zayn said, βI donβt. When Iβm at home, Iβm only reminded of you and how my heart was broken countless times in this town.β He didnβt want to hurt Harry but maybe Harry needed to hear what he had to say. βI have a life there and friends and co-workers ββ
βFine,β Harry interrupted. He stood from the table and took his plate to the sink.
