“I can’t exactly stop being sweet, so I guess I’m gonna have to break your heart when you fall,” he laughed lightly, knowing that the other was probably just joking, “I never been to france before, but there are bowling alleys everywhere, right?” he suggested, “Or we could just ask someone that been there before, ask for suggestions.”

“It’ll be a pleasure to get my heart broken by you, I could do a lot worse, superboy.” Jesse giggled. “Guess it’s going to be an experience for both of us, my family has been to france, me, not so much. How’s about I take you out in France, I know we’re both kind of strangers, but you’re making me a lot less lonely, and I’m sure you’ll make france a lot less sucky. Who knows maybe I’ll fall for you there. Just be sure to kiss me under the eiffel tower.”

Win looked a bit confused at the statement. His horse wasn’t even white and he also didn’t own any armor. “My horse is brown?” Win mumbled softly the confusion still evident on his face. The actual color of the horse was actually closer to Chestnut than true bay which was brown but Win didn’t want to deal with talking about coat colors. “Well. now the whole school knows I’m gay.” Win shrugged hoping not to go into exactly why. “I just, the last guy I dated was you. Now I’m not sure how I should be dealing with that.” He rubbed the back of his head confused not sure how to put his thoughts into actual sentences. “How do I ask another guy out?” Win mumbled rolling his eyes.

“You’re lucky you’re pretty,” Jesse pointed out before sighing. “Not the point, but well I didn’t know that. Did you out yourself or where you part of some evil outing scheme or whatever? I mean was kind of the victim of a really bad deal, and I don’t know if what we did was so much dating as keeping me a secret from the entire world, Win.” Jesse mumbled. “Just tell the guy how you feel, be honest with yourself and him, and if he happens to like you back then things will just be alright. You’re seriously stressing over nothing,”

“I hope you’re right, I do try to make people smile often, most of the time, my friends, because they’re the ones that I spend the most time with,” he also tried to make people that he didn’t know a lot to smile. He was a caring person, and just wanted people to be happy, “Don’t see it that way, see it as a way to take your mind off everything, maybe a change of scenery will be good for you, will help you to cheer up.”

“You’re really sweet and right now that’s very dangerous because I might end up making googly eyes at you, and that’s the last thing we both want,” he teased, before offering Richard a smile. “Sure, I guess it’s that as well. Hmm, maybe so, got anything in mind for that, because I’m not just saying I’m willing to follow your biceps anywhere, but I am.”

“I believe you think I’m hot, I just don’t think like you do,” he could see that his compliment was genuine, but he rarely could see the good things that people told him that he was. Most of the time, he was his own enemy, “I get why it would hurt, but keeping something from your friends, it’s not fun, and it will eat you alive,” he was having to do that, and he felt terrible about it, but he had no choice, “If he didn’t wait, then you can move on, I know it’s not that easy, but wouldn’t you rather to know than to keep wondering for the rest of your life?”

“Hasn’t anyone ever told you it’s polite to buy a man lunch before you sexualize them?” Zander jokes, not quite sure how else to respond. It wasn’t the first time he’d heard comments like that, but his brain always seemed to run out the door on him when it came to what to say in response. The first thing that came to mind was what came out of his mouth, and it could be either really good or really bad. “You should have been at the last party. You would have seen mine and Jack’s, but pretty sure Jack would show his penis to anyone who asked so you could easily cash a rain-check on that.” He chuckles, “you got one shut down? Good job. It still sucks you had to go through that, though.” Even if Jesse had saved someone else from that hell in the process, he still had to go through it. 

“You think I’m hot?” No matter how many times he’d heard it, Zander was always taken aback when he heard it out loud. Not that he minded anyone checking him out, but being vocal about it was a foreign concept. But, maybe that was only because he tried to stick to himself for the most part. “Pretty sure this movie is rated R and you’re biased against yourself, if you were sexually attracted to yourself there’d be an issue. Don’t be so hard on yourself.” He advises, rubbing the back of his neck. “Same shit, different set dressing really. It sucks you had to go through that, though.”

It was a bit difficult to see Jesse given their history especially since they hadn’t talked in a while. But, Win still felt the need to make the others favorite food and go see him. With the dish in hand he knocked on the door hoping that Jesse was there and would open the door. They were friends after all, or at least Win hoped they were friends. It would be a little difficult to ask for advice when they weren’t friends. If they weren’t friend it did beg the question of what were they too. When the door opened Win smiled and held up the box that held the bowl of kimchi in it. “Hey, I brought something for you, can we talk?”

Leo: Well it's hard to be when I'm falling asleep.

Leo: [...]

Leo: Yeah this isn't working I think I'd rather have an actual conversation.... something I never thought I'd ever say.

Jesse: okay, tell auntie jesse all your problems

“Hm… Sure…” he definitely disagreed with him, especially about the part that he said after he got to know him, he would be even more sure he was not forgettable. He thought that he would change his mind instead, “I guess most people don’t share the same point of view that you do,” he was okay with not being noticed, at least he had some true friends, “Like you did to me right now, why don’t you want to tell them? You’re scared they will for some reason treat you differently because of it?”

“Score one for my memory and ability to remember a name and a face,” Fane laughed softly. “Certain boy? Didn’t think you’d have been here long enough to get close to someone like that… I’m sorry, you don’t have to answer that. It’s not my business.” He shook his head, cheeks heating at Jesse’s compliments. “I ain’t too sure about the ‘dreamy’ thing… I was definitely joking about that. Ain’t making anyone swoon, last I checked. Ain’t sure I need to make anyone swoon for that matter…” Maybe one person. He could do with making one person swoon, but he wasn’t sure he wanted to talk about that with someone he barely knew. “Brooklyn boys are definitely something. I love the city. I’m gonna die in this city.”

“Hot guy remembers me, I think I win this round,” he teased. “We were friends from our other school, things just happened after I confessed my feelings, and then everything went down the drain with my family kind of butting in. No it’s fine, shit happens, my family’s pretty homophobic which is why I haven’t been around for a little bit. Got sent to a place where I was supposed to come back loving the opposite sex. Didn’t work out so well for them, I got the place shut down.” he mused. “Oh, I’m so sure about the dreamy thing, I’m sure there’s someone waiting for you to sweep them off their feet if you haven’t already. Besides you’re hot, seem really sweet, and you look really cute when you blush, who wouldn’t fall for you?” he grinned. “Well, city boy, you have to be my guide now, you’re my official platonic date for today, and you can’t say no, because I will cry if you do.”

“Muscle guy?” Zander gives Jesse a confused look, “it hasn’t been that long. Only one summer, I think they’ll be excited you’re back.” It was just like any other summer, where some people went home and others simply didn’t. It didn’t mean people forgot you just because your friends were all together instead of being on their own. “That sucks, I’m sorry.” He wasn’t sure what to say, that was such a personal - horrific experience just causally being set onto his lap. “You didn’t miss too much, Disneyland trip, teaching kids subjects.”
