they only respond with silence
it’s a cavernous structure
among miles of broken concrete
you can already see it as you approach
purple flashes searing through the broken windows
splitting your shadow into multiples
there’s always thousands of people inside
but never a line to get in
and when you approach, the bouncer
will ask only one question:
if they find what they are looking for in your eyes
inside are those who have returned
to the spectrum-world of their own bodies
and coalesced into a single permutating essence
many dreams happen at once:
she crawls toward the shadow-source of her pleasure
limbs compelled by the endless pulsations overtaking her
her prize is sweet and quick;
it flares and fades in warm silence
he hasn’t stopped dancing for three sunrises
the substance won’t allow him to
the substance is his shepherd, pushing him to new realms
bringing him closer to the unnameable
they flail and twist around the powder sigil
egos unfelt in the fury of strobelights
the priestess takes a candle-flame to her eye and screams
the pumping gets louder, it fills up their lungs
the structure is seemingly endless
very few have been able to reach every
corner, every unlit room, every
subbasement and narrow hallway
but every space is filled
every hollow place where the soul can finally manifest
moisture and smoke line the soaring walls
sweat, tears, and vomit scatter the floor
the past and future have been unmade
they have lost the words to even describe them
you too, have been freed from what is left outside
and when you leave, the flaming core of you
will stay behind, and keep dancing
i wrote this poem after reading about berghain and other industrial-type techno clubs in Berlin and new york :p
